Gallery Girls: Season Finale Recap

You got to give it up for Angela by at least admitting that she’s a snake by sending Claudia a text letting her know that she told Chantal everything that was said about her. Claudia is freaking out because she said things that were really mean while venting and that she will never trust Angela with a secret again. She meets up with Chantal who is actually quiet for once while Claudia lies and basically whines about not getting the money to pay her family back as well as not being able to pay bills. She’s dumb the real argument should be Chantal not having faith in her from the beginning and being a shitty person/friend. Chantal says the real reason she is hurt is from the Paris comment (that Claudia denies) but then accepts Claudia’s apology and says that she should maybe move on. Claudia says that she isn’t sure what she wants to do and then tries to get Chantal to discuss how they intend to pay her family back if she does leave and Chantal is kind of like um…we can discuss that later. They really don’t resolve much except that they were never really friends to begin with and that Lara and Chantal basically used Claudia for some start-up money.

Maggie has a really shitty apartment…iphone…boyfriend…life. I don’t know what it is about her but I don’t feel bad for her because I feel like she doesn’t take any steps to get out of her rut whereas Amy tries maybe a little too hard. She gets a phone call to do a working interview with Bernarducci and tells an very unexcited Ryan. Maggie meets with Frank and Marina (this bitch…) and gets a walk through of the gallery and the shows currently on display. Frank has her fetch business cards from his office and she takes the time to talk to herself once again. Seriously, it’s fucking weird at this point. She feels awkward going through his desk but he says there are no secrets and sends her back for more cards. Then Bad Bang Pale Bitch makes her make coffee and Maggie is just so excited at the shot of having a paid job that she doesn’t even realize that they want her to do bitch work. Aim higher Maggie or else you’ll be stuck on the floor forever getting walked and spat on. Maggie is so eager to leave Eli’s that she visits him and basically lies to him that she is going to take the offer and leave the internship. He wishes her well and I throw shit at the tv because you never leave one room without walking into another room. Now you know she won’t get the job at Bernarducci. Kerri pops up and talks to her dad about how overwhelmed she is but I don’t really give two shits about her.

Thanks for the entertaining recaps. Timeline in this episode was confusing. Misc observations…

One cafe meeting has Christmas Trees. Yet Maggie and guys go to beach before it gets too cold to get in some surfing before it gets too cold. But the uninterested boyfriend was wearing a winter parka earlier.

Maggie really makes herself the victim. And what’s up with the dopey question at the beach: Who puts all these seashells here? That was as cringe-worthy as when Jessica Simpson’s Chicken of the Sea conundrum.

Laughed at the continuity gaffe when Amy walks out of hair salon to go to her interview and shows up looking completely different. Wondering when the new internship actually began. As of today’s date, Amy is still listed on the Bernarducci Meisel website staff page.

Loved peaking at Amy’s resume and seeing the creative writing to mask all those menial intern tasks.

EOC owner’s solution to every problem is to not make a decision and say, “We’ll figure something out.” In fact, it should become a drinking game.

Chantel lives in a reality distortion field, like most Apple fan boys. It might actually be nice to live in there. I’m jealous.

Every recorded conversation between one of the girls and their respective father is extremely awkward. Hope there is a second season and we get to see Angela’s proud parents.

    Thanks for recapping SG!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked this show– I love NYC and enjoyed the new perspective of the art “scene”.

My fave was Amy– at the outset and ending. She’s a nice girl who tries a little too hard. Maybe its the stigma of her dad being a gyno–who knows??? I still think she and Deena (Jersey Shore) should do a show together.

Maggie-go back to PA and take take Ryan–he has a crush on your mom so that should explain things to you.
Liz–I hope she decides to be an art student next season. Would love to see her work on a portfolio and a show.
    Angela……..
EOC Girls—Claudia I hope you can pay your folks back soon— I think that debt will hang over your head ALOT until its paid off (and that is probably your story for next season). Chantal why dont you and your accent (ok-odd and stilted manner of speaking) go to Paris. I know you wont be offfering to absorb any of the debt from EOC. And Lara–cant hide from Cawfee–I dont know what your real deal was other than not really caring about the bills either but am sure you will be on next season.
Kerri— good luck—was never sure of you. I guess you were supposed to be our underdog–LI girl makes it in the City.

I was not at all impressed with Claudia as “Gallery Director,” or as business woman for that matter She didn’t have the savvy to get the job done. Chantal, however snarky as she was was actually the go-getter in terms of bringing business into EOC. I’m glad Amy got a job. As for Maggie, she needs to be less passive and figure out what she wants.

Maybe next season Bravo could do “Gallery Guys” They could feature The Sucklord. Incidentally, the Sucklord episode was the best in this 8 part series!

This was a peculiar show. Timelines and story lines seem odd. How would Amy not know that her place was on the market? I wasn’t too impressed with her at the beginning of the season, but by the end I see that she means well.

Maggie needs to grow a spine. Not standing up to Eli as he asked her to do coolie work shows what a doormat she really is. Her boyfriend couldn’t care less about her. Maggie is a fair weathered friend. At the beginning she gave phony comments to the girls, then bitched about them to Liz. Then once Liz turned on her, she tried to recruit Amy by telling her “You are the nicest person that I know”. I thought it was weird that she didn’t understand that Bernarducci called her in for a WORKING INTERVIEW. An interview isn’t a job offer, Maggie! Telling Eli that she got a job offer and was quitting makes her look like an idiot. I wonder if next season she’s crawling back to Eli because she spoke too soon.

Angela is another turncoat; acting like she cares about Claudia, then pulling Chantal aside to spill what Claudia said.

Claudia was too trusting. First she borrows $15,000 from her parents to open EOC, and Chantal treats the job like its a hobby. Maybe she’ll go in, or maybe she’ll sleep late, do yoga, have French pressed coffe, and pop in for 10 seconds. How does she have money to go to Paris, but no money to pay ConEd?

Chantal was just annoying. I hope she buys a one-way ticket to Paris.

Kerri seemed like an afterthought when GG was being cast. She served no purpose on this show.

Liz I can’t stand. She walks around like “Been there, done that”. Whatever, Lizzy.

Thanks for the great recaps. I actually am sad the season is over. I grew to love Amy and feel like her desperation for girlfriends will lead her to a lifetime of being used. She needs a friend or boyfriend that will tell her when to settle down.

Angela is yuck. and between Angela, Liz, and Kerri, i had an internal struggle with who had the longest face.

Maggie bores me and i love how Eli just plays with her like a cat swiping at a toy. He’s totally got her number and i love his smirk.

i don’t mind if they all come back… i’d watch them all. claudia should be a full-on cutter by next season. that’d be a great story line for her.

Love the recaps. This is my first time commenting, I finally decided to make an account since I spend so much on this website.

When I began watching this show, I threw up in my mouth a little bit. Yet, here I am (as with most Bravo shows) watching the season 1 finale…

Amy- She irritated me in the beginning, especially when she bragged about how spoiled she was and called her father while she was soaking in the bathtub *shudder*. But, as the season went on I really grew to like her. Yes, I think she was a little too eager at times, but honestly I would rather work or be friends with someone like that rather than any of the EOC girls. I also think she is very genuine and has a good heart. I was happy for her when she got the job over Maggie and I think it proves that hard work and a good attitude goes a long way.

Maggie- Don’t care for her whatsoever. She has a horrible attitude and is whiny. I hope she learned a lesson about counting her eggs before they hatched when she didn’t get the paying job. Also, is it just me or did she always seem like she was sick or something, she always was sniffling and had a nasely voice.

Angela- I couldn’t stand her when the season started…but she didn’t bother me so much in the end. I think the whole slutty-hipster-artist-Idontcarewhatpeoplethinkofme-attitude is a facade. There were times when she would take off the mask and I could see a genuine person.

Liz- I liked Liz a lot throughout the season. I was shocked when I saw her sleeve, it didn’t fit her “look” at all, and it honestly that made me like her more. Yes, she is a bitch, but she is honest and doesn’t beat around the bush. I do think she took the tipping scandal a little too far, she should have just dropped it once they left Miami.

Chantal-Ugh…she is everything I hate about hipsters. She treated that store like it was her hobby and really was manipulative. As annoying as Claudia is, I really don’t think she gave two shits about her or the fact her family fronted the money. With that said, they should have never went into business together after only knowing each other for a year. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

    Claudia-Eh…

    And I almost forgot Kerri…

While I can admire her work ethic, she needs to stop complaining about it. We get it…you need to work full time while doing an internship. But ultimately, the choice was yours to do the internship and you knew that you were going to be overwhelmed. Her story never seemed to fit in with the other girls. Another question I have is that I thought in the end they said she went to Italy or something. Did she go to study art? Did she go with one of her sugar daddies? I am confused, I might have missed it though.

Wonder if End of Century was inundated by superstorm Sandy.
That is if the gallery was still in business.

Most of the damage in NYC was in the subways. If anything, they lost a few days of business; not that they’d ever sell anything anyway.
