Time for some comforting mother-in-law-ly advice from Cersei to Sansa: don’t be overwhelmed by this blood, Sansa – wait til you give birth!
Teen Mom 3: Westeros
Cersei gives some exposition on her births: Robert ran off to hunt during the labor; Jaime forced his way into the birthing room. Cersei acknowledges that Joffrey sucks and will be a horrible husband and father, and that Sansa probably won’t be able to love him. Cersei thinks love is weakness, anyway, and Sansa’s love of her children will be weakness enough.
Cersei and Tyrion have a new telegram: Stannis’ ships are on the way, and will be here in a few days. To protect King’s Landing, Joffrey needs to step up and be a king that all the peasants don’t want to kill/throw poop at. Unfortunately, he’s a little shit and neither Tyrion nor Cersei can control him. Cersei thinks Joffrey’s extreme shittiness might be punishment for her twincesty sins. Or, perhaps, he just takes after his mother. As Cersei cries about her son’s crapitude, Tyrion awkwardly saunters over and looks sympathetic. This is probably the least hostile interaction we’ve ever seen between them.
Theon awakens in an empty bed; Shae and her boobs are missing. Winterfell is also missing Bran, Rickon, and Hodor, who took off in the night.. Theon puts a hunting party together to look for them. On foot, they probably aren’t too far ahead of the hounds We see the runaways reach a farm, where two little boys they used to know live; Rickon wants to stop by to get food, but the others say its too risky.
Later, Theon arrives at the same farm (I think) and find some of the chestnuts Rickon was gnawing on – I guess that’ll be a new scent for the hounds. The Maester tries to convince Theon to take mercy on the boys. I’m inclined to agree, their little boyhood aside – aren’t they worth more alive, as everyone keeps saying about Arya, Sansa and Jaime? Theon’s apparently more concerned about his reputation than his strategy: “It’s better to be cruel than weak.”
it’s also better for both eyes to point at the nose.
In the very last moments of the episodes, Theon’s guards drag the Maester and the other residents of Winterfell into the yard for a display: the blackened, burned bodies of two little boys. NNOOOOO!
little lords of winterfell, well-done. too soon?
