It is the final episode of the first (and very possibly last) season of The Glass House. We wade through a montage of the season so far. In the bathroom, Jeffy tells Erica about Kevin’s “lady friend” in Toledo and wonders if Kevin has mentioned this to her. It’s a bed buddy, so I’m not sure why this is important. It’s not like there will be a relationship afterward. Distance makes school-like crushes go away.
Kevin, Andrea, and Mike express their disgust over the idea of Erica winning the show. Jeff joins in to talk smack about Erica. We get to see previous footage of Kevin telling Erica that they have way more of a relationship (with substance) than Joy and Gene. That theirs has real emotion. Meanwhile, Kevin’s telling everyone else that he wants nothing to do with Erica and Jeff wants her out of the house, because he’s tired of watching her fall in love with Kevin. I think they’ve just sufficiently proven what douchenozzles Jeff and Kevin are. Should Erica get a clue? Sure. But, Kevin’s playing her. He knows he is. He’s avoided telling her he’s not interested. Anytime the two of them have been alone, he’s strung her along. But, behind her back, he acts as though he’s grossed out by her. They’re both really immature. It’s all very high school. Kevin is the cool guy that doesn’t want anyone to know he might actually like a girl that doesn’t fit into the cool crowd. And Erica is that girl who doesn’t fit into the cool crowd who’s willing to alienate everyone around her to go after this tool who’s unwilling to man up and make a clear decision.
I have no idea why she thinks I like her. All I’ve done is sent her mixed signals.
The boys take off as Erica comes in, so she talks to Andrea about Kevin and any potential future they may have together. The other continue to refuse to tell Erica that Kevin’s not interested. The others talk about this whole “fatal attraction” thing, but they’re all such a-holes by talking about her behind her back and no one ever telling her to her face that he claims to want nothing to do with her. Kevin continues to show what an asshole he is by making fun of Erica with Andrea and Mike and plotting to get her wasted while he stays stone-cold somber.
They get her drunk and get what they wanted. She starts crying about the fact that Kevin has been leading her on. She brings up all the things that he says to her behind closed doors that no one else knows about. They all sit around rolling their eyes, but I actually feel bad for her. She’s emotionally immature, but everyone else is bullying her and acting extremely immature.
I have to give it to Erica that she calls people out. She doesn’t let them pretend to be her friend and she doesn’t pretend, either. Andrea talks with Erica about the Kevin Issue, but Erica tells her that it would help if she would listen to her when she asks her about it instead of turning around, rolling her eyes, and telling everyone what a psycho she is. Erica tells Andrea that she’s not this wholesome, sweet girl that she wants people to believe she is. Well, don’t worry, Erica, because I think we all know she’s not. She’s a mean girl. She’s immature. She’s a bitch. And she’s in a cult.
If you like it, spread it!:

I stuck through the whole season, but this show really sucked. It shouldn’t come back.
Loved your recaps though – thanks!
I floved when they played back the feed, I’ve never have seen three adults squirm in their seats as much as these three. Awkward!!
I knew Kevin was going to win. Why? Because of the audience. The audience is made up of women, women who are attracted to guys like Kevin. I admit I was falling for most of Kevin’s bullshit. I was a big Erica fan until the end when she would get piss drunk and start whining. Andrea’s the cute girl whom everyone thinks is sweet, but she’s really a snob. Back to Kevin. Kevin is like Jeff on Big Brother. If you remember, he won America’s favorite. If Big Brother had been put to a vote that year, Jeff would have won it all. I really hate the “I’m not into commitment” kind of guy. And was it me or did Kevin completely ignore his daughter?
Wow, i missed this ep… can’t believe there were like 8 people left and it was the finale ??!?! Eh. I dont think it’ll be back, which is too bad b/c it is better than Big Brother. If it does come back, it needs to be on more than once a week. thanks for going through this crap for us!
I don’t understand how anybody could like Erica. She was annoying and just pathetic about the whole Kevin thing. He did tell her after their makeout session that it was a mistake so she should’ve gotten over it then and not try and have people feel sorry for her. I wanted her to go home week 3. And she had the ugliest cry face I have ever seen. I’m glad Kevin won cuz he was the only entertaining person on the show. And you have to be somewhat pretty to do playboy so she definitely couldn’t do it. And Andrea was kinda a snob but she wasn’t as bad as Erica.
This show could have been good, but it was just bad. When were voters supposed to actually vote on the final 3? Were they relying on the few people who were watching the live feeds online? Speaking of the live feeds, have the final 3 never heard of Big Brother? Why were they at all shocked that they were being filmed the entire time in the house?
I don’t think this show will be coming back at all.
@GeorgiaPeach – Have you ever seen Farrah from Teen Mom? SHE has the ugliest cry face. There are even FB pages dedicated to it. lol This show really didn’t have likeable people. It was hard to root for anyone.
@Cyn I agree I thought Kevin completely blew off his daughter (who looks NOTHING like him) and really never talked about her on any episode – odd???
Also thought it was bizzare on how contestants dropped like flies in the finale. Went from 5 people to a winner in 60 minutes. With maybe the exception of Andrea (year of the mormon) every single other player was using this as an audition tape / stepping stone to fame and fortune. Ahhh good luck with that people!
I didn’t think Kevin would win. Didn’t see this, I was out of town, but seriously, I thought Erika would win.
I did end up kind of hating everyone. Erika reminds me of my pathetic self pining for assholes . . . as no matter what, Kevin was do-able. And yes, I hate those non-comitment types . . . sigh . . . . but then, I’m not sure a commintment is what I would be pursing . . . heh heh.
Lot’s of yelling all around, and in the end, really couldn’t stand Jeffy, or Gene . . . a surprise to me, being a gay and all . . .
Thanks for riding it out too, Shugah!
Great recap! GeorgiaPeach—I could not agree with you more re: Erica. She was embarrassing to watch. If she couldn’t figure out that Kevin wasn’t into her based on his very obvious actions (kicking her out of his bed!), then that is on her. Idiot. This show could be good. Needs lots of improvements.
LOL, i guess i’m the only one that enjoyed this show! i hope it has a second season, but with much better people. joy and gene annoyed the crap out of me.
i think erika redeemed herself with her speech at the end. she owned everything she did in the house. y’all are right, andrea is one of those sneaky girls that everyone thinks is nice, but never is. i knew kevin was going to win, even though i wish it had been erika.
UGH, I was so disappointed that Kevin won. Treating people badly shouldn’t be rewarded. Erica may have had annoying moments but she was never cruel and Kevin was cruel. What a jerk. Hopefully his ego will take a hit when he reads all the fans bashing him on the interwebs. Ugh.
The best part of this season, and it’s only redeeming value, was Mormon Andrea’s admission on national television that she married her husband only because she like hi family (‘s money) more than her other boyfriend’s family. What a slut.
