Glee Project Recap: Perfectly Predictable

Lily- The way she holds and strokes the mic stand is a little risque. I guess “sexy” Lily is back. Zach so loves her, I bet she’s a fag hag in real life. I wish she had a little more growl in her voice, though, for this song.

I bet she’s imagining it’s Blake. Ew. Too far?

Fun fact: this song was not originally sung by a black woman. Dusty Springfield is an older white woman. Who knew?

Ian Brennan is one of the big writers of the show. Last season I said he reminded me of the guy from Hamlet 2. And he still does.

It’s uncanny

In the mini segment WB has a towel on her head. That’s all notable about it. She’s also is the only one who hasn’t done a solo for Ryan.

WB- you can tell everyone is in love with her. I wish she had moved around a little bit more on the stage. I mean rolled around. Ian thinks she would be a good promiscuous bitch. I don’t see it at all, she’s so nice. And Carpet is CLEARLY the promiscuous bitch of the group.

Blake- pretty reserved when he comes out. His voice is actually a little bit better than usual. The falsetto bit is nice.

Zach has his warm and fuzzy face on from the beginning.

Carpet- every single episode it strikes me how much she doesn’t know how to wear clothes that flatter her body. Everything she wears makes her look frumpy and lumpy and muffin-toppy. Her singing was ok. Her usual overdoing it stuff.

I loved how this guy looked vaguely shocked at everything.

They like that someone like Carpet has never been on the show before. Of course it all boils down to her Muslim-ness. Sigh.

I don’t really know what they’re going to do.

I know Blake will stay, and probably WB, too. GC and Lily have the biggest chance of going home, I think. He’s improved a lot but just isn’t “special” enough, and Lily doesn’t have enough range. Glee doesn’t really need another fat girl anyway.

And in the end, I knew it. GC and Lily both don’t make it. You can only be a Generic Cutie for so long, and Lily was just too one-note. I feel bad for GC, but don’t give a hoot about Lily.

They’ll probably have at least 2 winners this year, with one of them obviously being Blake.

What did you guys think? Do you agree with the losers? Who do you think will win this whole she-bang? Does everyone else agree that Carpet completely doesn’t deserve to be there?

Next week it’s the finale bitches! Finally. See you then for the shitshow!

About

Leah Michaels aka L-Money was deprived of cable TV as a child, so of course now she is obsessed with all things television. Hailing from Long Island, NY, she is currently a media studies major at Brown University. Besides sitting in front of the TV for hours, hobbies include video games, playing music, snowboarding, and being a DJ on the local alternative rock radio station. If you ever want to gush about the genius of Joss Whedon, discuss what kind of crack the Project Runway judges are smoking, drool over the food on Iron Chef, or sing show tunes, L-Money's your girl. Although she's young,  she feels she'll fit right in, as she's been making fun of people since she was eight years old (she was a precocious 2nd grader). Also, she loves cats. Like, a lot. She'll probably be a crazy cat lady when she's older, and she's OK with that.

I thought Aylin looked a lot prettier with the hijab on. The bright side of her winning this is maybe wardrobe for Glee will teach how to find flattering clothing.

I liked Michael so I’m kind of sad to seem him go. I guess now I’m rooting for anybody, but Aylin. She’s just not impressive to me. Her acting isn’t that good and I don’t really like her singing voice. She sounds like she’s always flat when she sings.

This season has been pretty terrible, if they do a third I hope it’ll be so much better than this.

I was secretly rooting for GC to win. He seemed like a normal nice kid compared to the other attention whores on the show. Ill be fine with either Blake or WB winning just not carpet please even though she probably will. This final three kinda does suck though oh well if they do a season three they should get weirder people make it more interesting.

One of the writers looked really familiar and not in a good way so i googled him and he is also an actor who played a really creepy teacher on suite life of zach and cody that i had to watch while babysitting, so couldnt take anything he said seriously.

@SagittariusKim I totally agreed that Carpet looked better with the headscarf on! Maybe because it helped to hide her oddly misshapen body

I hope Blake and WB win. No for Magic Carpet and so glad Lily is gone.

The familiar looking writer was also the director of the deaf choir on the show.

@gleekfan: The guy who had scarlet fever? Lol that’s why he looked familiar!

I really want Ali to win, but if she doesn’t it should be Carpet. Blake seems like a nice guy in real life, but his character would probably just be a stereotypical jock, and his singing voice sounds monotone especially with the amount of autotune they have been and will be adding to it. Carpet’s character would at least be something new that Glee and almost every other show has ever seen. Plus she has something vulnerable, an outcast factor, that Blake doesn’t have and that the audience needs to see.

@adelefig I didn’t hate Lily, but I just didn’t see anything unique or interesting about her. They’ve already had a “sexy and sassy” fat girl on Glee, I don’t see what she would’ve brought to the show that would be original

Lily is and was a bully. How can anyone like that? Except maybe other bullies. As a bullying victim seeing people like her win anything makes me sick to my stomach. They deserve to feel like crap like they made their victims feel.

@L-money, “After the video, Nikki gets all teary about learning things from the GleeProers. It actually sounds genuine. Must be the hormones. Zach cries, too, but that’s more expected.” I was thinking the exact same thing, as I didn’t think she had the ability to be genuinely sad . . . hormones fer sure!

I think they got the eliminated right. I might have preferred GC over Blake, personally, but neither one can sing worth shit. You can hear that hum of auto-tune and fixing every time they open their mouths! the grrrrls have definitely been better singers over all the guys. Charlie was probably best guy singer (but worst guy, I know, I know) When you think about Alex from last year, (who lost to two really dull singers as well) the caliber here just isn’t as strong. How did Alex not win . . . . based on their prize appearances, Dreads and Exchange Student were set pieces. Lindsey was a guest spot in true form, with some forced interaction, but Alex was a revelation!!!! He was soooo amazing in his singing number, and I liked how they handled the cross dressing and his relationship with Kurt and Rachel. I could easily see him come back for more. The others, meh.

So, here goes. I cried when Aylin put on the head scarf . . . I felt for her so bad, she just crumbled. I’m not sure why everyone hates her so much. I don’t love her or anything, but I like her singing. I thought she did good in the movie, yes, a bit dramatic, but so was Lily. I will give Lily an A for improvising. She may have been hoggy, but her emotions, and thoughts were quite nice. If they wanted another big girl in glee, I’d rather have the ginger from last year, she was a doll, but I’m blanking on her name.

I really, really don’t want Blake to win. Yawn!!! OMG, just as bad as Dreads, just more white bread, and an even more boring singer. They already have Finn, they don’t need two . . . . Aylin could be a whole new thing, so therefore, I’d be ok with her taking it. I was especially intrigued with her reaction to the hijab, and a home life with her would be interesting as well.

I don’t think they necessarily need another wheel chair cast member, but at least WB is for real. I found it very dear, during the whole episode, How GC picked up WB and put her in her chair, and someone holding her hand and rolling her along side. I must be hormonal myself, coz I was an easy target this epi!!! Anyway, my point is I think Ali is a sweet heart and a breath of fresh air, so I’d much rather they add her, tho not needed maybe, than add Blake, who is fer sure not needed. They also have the Blaine guy singing most guy leads, and he’s just a bit better than Finn or Blake . . . Let him stay the star, I say, cast a grrrrl!!!!

    Man I’ve gone on . . . sigh . . .
