Video Notes

- Another cameo from Prinicipal Figgins! I guess he isn’t in the upcoming season of Glee too much if he has time to stop by this piece of garbage.
- Who uses an hourglass to measure time? Are we in the 12th century?
- Candles in a janitor closet? I guess he wanted to hide the scent of ammonia and dirty mop heads. Kind of a mood killer.

- Do we really need the shot of Figgins peeing? That probably wasn’t even part of the video, I wouldn’t be surprised if they just followed him into the bathroom with a camera.

- They all kiss! That’s nice, although the high speed cuts between all of them made it so I couldn’t get a good look at any of them. That brings Carpet’s liplock total to…everyone on the show? Watch out Nikki, she’s coming for you next.

The bottom will probably be Carpet, Blake, and Shannannaa.

Lily and WB get praise for their studio and video work. They make it through to next week.

The three who will be doing last chance performances are the three I said! I am good.

In the mini segment Generic Cutie and Lily have a little date to get in the mood. I don’t think all the oysters, chocolate, and wine in the world would make their romance realistic.

Last Chance Performances
Carpet- Fine I guess. Zach wants to cuddle her. I think it’s a pretty boring song, so I wasn’t really paying attention. She forgets the words, apparently. I didn’t even notice, that’s how much I wasn’t listening to this song. They talk a little about what Mama Carpet is going to think about seeing her daughter outed as a hussy on national TV. Carpet says she’ll pass it off as acting (you better hope so!) but her relatives in Turkey won’t be too pleased. Guess there won’t be a Carpet Family Reunion in the cards any time soon.

Blake- I’m excited for this because finally he’ll have to sing on his own and we can see if has any talent at all. His performance is pretty one note, as expected. But REM isn’t that interesting vocally anyway, so it sounds decent. The drummer is super into his playing. I found that more entertaining than Blake.

Ryan wants Blake to be more vulnerable so he can have something to write about. Because he can’t think of any ideas on his own, obviously.

Shannnanana- her voice is pretty close to Kelly’s. It’s very bombshell, and just a teeny bit country. Good job, Shannanaa. Although she definitely screwed up the words. She says she thinks Generic Cutie should be there instead of her, and Ryan respects her bluntness.

    Oh, fear not, they’re going to pull another “everyone’s a winner!” just like last season. They’ve been grooming Blake for the win the entire time — it doesn’t matter if he can’t sing, hell, the Finn Hudson character sings like my tone-deaf mother’s left foot, and he’s the male lead of the show. And I’m sure they’re going to want to squeeze Magic Carpet in for a quickie story cycle.

    Wanna bet WB will show up as a substitute teacher? Just you wait and see.

    The other two, though: no chance.

    Shannananaa was kinda boring as hell and i can’t even with those god awful bangs so i wont miss her.

    Lily and Carpet are both some of the most ridiculous people ever so they can stay on for my entertainment as long as they dont win.

    Blake is also boring as hell, but i guess he is a good actor and nice to look at so he can stay too.

    WB and Michael are my too favorites lefts. Michael because all the contestants hate him and think he sucks so it would be hilarious if he won and WB because apparently she is a lesbian and dating dani (the bieber look a like) so points for her for being interesting.

    @Sam wait WHATTTTT??? WB is dating Dani???? WB is a lesbian??? Where did you hear this? Why wouldn’t she have played that up? Ryan would have loved it so much. Maybe she’s saving it for later? It all kind of makes sense now…

    The reason that Shanna was eliminated was because Ryan wasn’t as “inspired” to write a character for her as Carpet or ToneDeaf. I love Shanna, but I’m split. Part of me agrees with what some of the fans are saying, that Ryan is too lazy to write original characters and wants his actors to do it for him, and the other part of me thinks that the contestants are supposed to be inspiring and be a character, because that’s why they auditioned for GleePro in the first place. Shanna would have been geat to play a transfer student from the south and sing more country songs, since there’s no one like that already on Glee.

    Anyway, I’m Team Ali to win this one. If not her, Michael or Lily. But seeing as Ali is dating Dani, that makes her even cooler in my book. ToneDeaf is definitely going to win this whole thing though. Nikki has a huge ladyboner for him and I think Ryan just wants another Finn (which might work if they make Harmony/Lindsay from last season transfer and be the new Rachel).

    None of the GleePros will ever become main characters on the show — well, except the ringers like the Irish kid last year and Bland Blake this year.

    I don’t see why WB becomes cool all of a sudden simply because she’s dating a Justin-Bieber impersonator. I mean, I get the whole Bieberitis thing, but there’s nothing cool about him. Although I’m happy they’ve both found love.

    The point is, there’s nothing “cool” about being gay. It just is. That’s the whole point of the gay civil rights movement.

    Oh, and Shannannnaa will make a fine addition to the next teen vampire made-for-tv movie. She already has the fangs for it.

    Man I should really start using Twitter. Seems like i miss all the juicy gossip. And I don’t think WB being gay suddenly makes her “cool,” but it does make her a little more interesting (for Glee) and it makes me respect her more for not rung it in everyone’s faces and using it as her “look at me I’m special” trait. Although I guess with the wheelchair she didn’t really need something else.

    Seriously the contestants on twitter are hilarious. We find out Ali and Dani are dating. Abraham is so mean to Michael and Aylin. Blake and michael flirt with each other, charlie says the weirdest shit (but thats to be expected) and they all still hate mario.

    I think Michael and Alyin win
    they are setting it up for underdog vs perfect so Michael vs Blake, Alyin vs Lily
    I would rather Michael win because im sick of everyone saying he doesn’t deserve to be there and hes always compared to Blake. Obviously he deserves to be there because if he didn’t he wouldn’t of made call backs. Its all Ryans choice in the end.

    Aylin really needs a better wardrobe. She already has a weird figure and all the clothes she wears makes her look shapeless and boxy. I’m tired of her and hope she’s next to go.

    I liked Shanna but she was kind of blah.

    I guess I’m rooting for Michael or Ali to win. I guess Blake would be ok too. It’s not like they’ll get that much screen time anyway.

    @itchy: I didn’t mean that her being gay made her automatically cool, she was aleady awesome and one of my favorites. I meant what L-Money said, that I like that fact that she didn’t rub it in everyone’s faces and I respect her more for it. I probably shouldn’t have used to word “cool” in that situation if I knew it would get that reaction… Sorry.

    Something tells me it’s the show that’s kept her sexuality under wraps. Although when you think of it, why didn’t she choose one of the girls as a partner for this romanticality thing? All three of the other girls were in same-sexy scenes this week — and they were even given a choice of partner at one point.

    It makes me wonder. Did the show say no? Did she switch teams after the show finished taping? Was she hiding it? Or was she as disgusted/annoyed by the other three as we are?

    Looks like Nellis is figuring out the reason boys creep her out so much too…

    @Itchy Would you choose Aylin or Lily? Maybe she tried Shanna but she was already taken. I think it’s funny that none of the people interested in girls wanted those two.

    I don’t know why it makes me so happy to see all these comments . . . I feel so alone watching this show. . .

    IMHO, if Ryan wants to cast cute people who can’t sing, do that on his own time. This show, I kinda expect to see some talented singers and people whose singing I enjoy. Generics have yet to sing a single note that inspires me, but I’d give the cute edge to Generic #2. Blake does fine acting, and I agree he’s Finn-ish, but yawn!

    I’ve kind of thought WB would take this one. She’s a good singer, and a great sport and has major skills with her chair, I believe they were worried for Kevin when she joined the show in the beginning. Lily’s probably the most polished, I like Alyin’s voice. I don’t hate her like you all. She was the one jumping hurdles and lip syncing . . . that’s some serious determination, and a heck of a lot harder than running up some bleachers . . .

    I was absolutely stunned they got rid of Shannananana . . . stunned . . . I wasn’t sure she would win or anything, but what a slap in the face to be eliminated before Gen2 . . . ugh!

    I still liked Nellis for singing the most. And I agree Itchy, my gay-dar pinged when it came to her. I’ll have to check that link out. Dani seemed kind of cool to me too. The lesbian outsider could be a character too, Ryan! OMG, I just called the gay grrrrl cool, no Itchy! I didn’t mean it! Ooo, nooooo, arrrgh! LOL!

    Actually, Glee is already the gayest show on TV (I think) so I only want them to bring back Karofsky!

    Oh, and yeah, I think you guys are all right, despite my opinion, Blake will win . . . sigh . . .

    I didn’t say gay people couldn’t be cool, just that they’re not necessarily “born that way”. Just look at Project Runway — when’s the last time you’ve thought “cool” when watching at any of those people?

    I was not so stunned that Shannana went home due to the recap at the beginning of the show. It was not so subtlety mentioned that Shannana was the only one who hadn’t performed for Ryan yet. Thanks for the heavy handed editing, producers.

    And I didnt notice that magic carpet messed up the words either.

    As far as Ali and D-Biebs dating, it seems to me (as someone who knows nothing about Ali’s actual personal life lol) that she’s probably not Kinsey 6 gay, but somewhere else in the gray area. Like, maybe she wasn’t looking to date a girl, but she found a connection with someone, they started dating, and that someone just happened to be another girl, you know?

    I’m so disappointed in this show.
    Like…one by one, they have stripped away everyone I like.
    How can they even justify cutting Shanna? What has she ever done but be great? She even has a little backstory that Ryan can exploit in order to avoid doing his job. Meanwhile, Michael can’t really sing that well, can’t dance that well, can’t act that well, is boring, is not as cute as Blake, is always getting the same feedback, and has no story. WHY IS HE HERE?
    If anyone needed to go home this week, it’s him.

    All I have left is Blake, who is a good pony but not a great one, because he is just too perfect for Glee.
    There’s nothing freakish about him, and if he wins, Ryan will have to create something freakish. And since he’s lazy as fuck and wants his material prepackaged in his actors, I’m not sure he’s going to go for that, no matter how badly he wants to lay Blake out on the casting couch and show him what for. So I don’t know if I see Blake winning.

    And Lily is absolutely insane. When she mentioned that “spark” that she has with Blake, I fell out laughing. Blake does not know that she exists. Hannah had a better chance with Damien than Lily will ever have with Blake. And it’s not even her size that I imagine would put him off because at least her proportions aren’t bad. Her personality is still her biggest problem; she is so ridiculously overpowering and annoying, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Blake even try to interact with her on personal level. So sit all the way down, Lily.
