Another episode of GleePro! I want to address some of the things you guys have been saying in the comments-
- When did Charlie say he has Asperger’s? I only remember him saying he had ADHD.
- It is so true that they picked no cute girls for this season. Even the vile Lindsay from last season was pretty. Shnnanna is close, I guess, but she’s still not that attractive. And on that note, I don’t think she’s chubby, she just has a big frame. IMO.
In the intro, it sounds like the announcer is saying “the metros” instead of the mentors. Anyone else hear that? I was wondering if he was referring to Zach.
The theme for this week is “fearlessness.” Magic Carpet says she’s fearless because she flirts despite coming from a devout Muslim family. Cuddling with boys despite the possibility of stoning is pretty fearless, I have to admit. Also, wouldn’t this theme have been PERFECT for Blind Side? I love when things like that happen.
“Now That We Found Love” by Heavy D and the Boys is the homework song. It’s about being fearless because it’s scary for them all to rap, which obviously none of them can do, since none of them are black. Seriously, that’s what the show is implying. I wonder if the song would have been different if Taryn had still been around. It kind of sounds more like a song for adaptability week to me…Abe doesn’t know if Asians can rap. Some can, but I don’t think he will be one of them.
They all choose lines. They should honestly make a whole show based around a group of people choosing lines for a song. They don’t even have to sing the song, we just want to see them choose the lines. Why hasn’t someone thought of it already?
Jane Lynch is the guest mentor, for playing Sue Sylvester on Glee. Apparently we are supposed to think Sue is fearless because she insults everyone. Kind of like me! But wouldn’t someone like Kurt be more fearless for the whole, you know, gay bullying thing? I forget you should never try to make sense of Ryan Murphy’s choices.
Carpet freaks out about Jane. Like, way over the top. She does that for everything, actually. I really want to punch her.
Jane actually gives some good advice, mentioning that she didn’t get Glee until her late 40s, and she had to persevere past what people might have seen as failure.
Blake- sounds so produced, but does a decent job B+
Abe- actually does pretty well. His little dance moves aren’t as annoying now. A-
Charlie- no flow. He perfectly represents why white guys shouldn’t rap. It’s funny too because his lyrics are something about having flow. D
Wheelchair Barbie- shakes around a lot, but pulls it off B
Nellis- I feel bad for her, but it really wasn’t good. She should have owned it more, like Shnnanaana in adaptability week. C
Lily- “shake and bake me” is in her lyrics…way to give the fat girl the food joke. B
Carpet- blah. Generic. C+
Shnnannaa- she’s so eager and perky, it’s kind of funny. It works with the feel they have going. B
Generic Hottie 2- I couldn’t understand one word he said. C-
All their dance moves are so corny. But purposefully, so it’s cute. Also, I could watch Jane Lynch’s changing facial expressions all day. Make THAT a show!
Jane’s comments: Generic 2 hung back more (I like his different hairstyle, btw), Magic Carpet was a good storyteller, Lily made her laugh, Nellis held back and shouldn’t be afraid of being silly. She picks Lily as the winner. Carpet is pissed, because she and Jane had such a connection, obvs. I approve of Lily winning just because I like seeing Carpet angry.
