Glee Recap: Election 2012

Will needs advice, so he heads to see Emma.  Not fiancée Emma, guidance counselor Emma.  She is busy watering plants while wearing rubber gloves, but sits down to talk to him.  He tells her about the Blue Ribbon Panel and how he would need to leave McKinley for several months.  Forget the fact that he wouldn’t be working, he is worried about leaving the kids.  I think someone needs to clue him in that they do, in fact, have parents of their own.  Emma tells him to follow his dream and that is all the encouragement he needs.

It’s finally time for the debate.  Figgins is out sick with political fever, so Sue is filling in as moderator.  Right before they go on, Sam tells Blaine to lose the bow tie.  Sam is now my new favorite character.  I can’t believe it took this long for someone to tell him that.  All we need to do is work on the pants and we will be set!

Sue introduces ‘Pimp and the Gimp’ (Sam and Artie).  She calls Artie stumbles and asks ‘Who gives a hot steamy dump about student government?’.  Evidently Artie, since he talks forever.  Sam has mercy on everyone and just agrees with Artie.  Sam is then asked if he is ashamed about being a stripper.  He doesn’t really answer, but he rips his shirt open, so I’m guessing no.

Once Blaine and Brittany are up, Blaine tells everyone that the only thing Brittany did while president was have a dinosaur themed prom.  Not really detailed, but pretty much says it all.  Brittany starts out strong, telling everyone that she loves McKinley.  Then, it goes downhill pretty fast.  Because of her love, she wants to outlaw summer and weekends so everyone can be at McKinley every day.  Needless to say, Brittany isn’t going to win.

In New York, Isabel summons Kurt to her office.  She tells him that she showed the video to Ana.  I honestly have no clue who Ana is, but I’m guessing she’s a really big deal at Vogue.  I have whiplash from going back and forth, so a few non-essential characters are really getting lost in the shuffle.  Whoever the hell Ana is loved the idea and wants to re-shoot the video, giving Kurt credit.  Isabel tells Kurt that even though he has his heart set on NYADA, he should think about staying in fashion.

Rachel is in the dance room, yet again, when Brody comes in.  He thinks she looks hot in her new clothes, so they sing a very cliché version of ‘Hot Change’.  What is with Rachel’s whole ‘come hither’ look while she is singing?  I think she’s trying to look sexy, but she kind of looks confused or constipated.  Or confused about being constipated.  They frolic through the city while eating ice cream and dancing.  Afterwards, Rachel asks him out because she wants to cook him dinner.

In the quickest election every, we have the results of the McKinley High senior class president race!  Sue announcing the winner and it is of course Blaine.  Artie isn’t all that upset, because Sugar asked him out.  I almost forgot Sugar was on the show, has she been hiding out the last few weeks?  Blaine is happy and tries to call Kurt, who doesn’t answer because he is with Isabel and her minions.  Blaine is upset because he realizes that he came to McKinley for Kurt and now he is alone.  Sam tells him that they are friends, so he isn’t alone.  Blaine must be bipolar, because that is all that is needed to cheer him up.  Brittany comes up and congratulates Blaine, then Sam.  It seems Sam actually voted for Brittany.  Brittany has evidently forgotten about Santana, and the fact that she was a lesbian last season, and she and Sam cuddle in a booth.

Anna Wintour is the editor-in-chief of Vogue, so she’s pretty darn important ;)

I suspect that this might be Glee’s last season. I LOVED this show at first but now, sadly, it’s lost a lot of the things that made it good.

I agree Pari– I was such a fan–but its not holding my attention at all anymore. I think its too many places and storylines.

And SJP–shuddering–not aging well and why is she on the show?? SHe was on Broadway but is no Audra MacDonald, Patty Lupone or Lea Salonga.

I just want Karofsky to move to New York, find Kurt and start a torrid love affair . . . that will make me want to watch, otherwise, I barely focus on these episodes.

I really do hope GoodytwoShues goes away . . . they have nothing left for him to do.

They really should have considered a spin off . . .

I’d never realized what an awful actress SJP was before. Maybe her thing worked when she was younger.

And yeah, they really need to decide what this show is about. The New York stuff isn’t cutting it. They really should have thought about making a second show about the NYC school and the other students.

Meanwhile, the old school’s cast just don’t have the star power of the original cast. That Blaine guy is as exciting to watch as Lawrence Welk.

SJP looks awful. Oh My Gosh she is too skinny! I can’t believe she’s my age.
From now on everytime I think I need to lose weight I will pull up a picture of her go and eat a sandwich.

So Brody who is the hottest guy in school goes after Rachel.
    Uh huh.
But it gets better! He’s going to WAIT for her to come around to seeing him as more than a friend (which took a whole what 36 hours?)

Rachel is sooooo going to end up getting pregnant by this smooth operator.
Then she gives the baby to Kurt and Karofsky to raise in Lima.

Thanks for the tip, Crissy . . . was it just the one, or do you think he’ll be back. I’m sure he wasn’t kissing anyone in the locker room . . . heh!
