Opening scene montage, and still thankful that NBC dropped the verbal intro and just left us with great images.
Nick gets home from a long day of Googling things and is welcomed with open arms by, well, by no one… Juliette isn’t home. And Nick is confused. I mean, where would his amnesiac, dumbsht (ex) girlfriend be? He gives her a call and finds that she’s just having a night out with the ladies.
Where am I? I’m out with the girls. Who is this?
She asks if she should have told him she was going out and he’s all “no, it’s cool, have fun”… and I’m all “don’t come home, ever”.
Meh, at least she left clean sheets for the couch.
Her girlfriends discuss how great Nick is and that he proposed to her but she said no to him, and none of them understand why. I’m guessing it’s because she lacks any warmth or depth to actually fall in love.
Portland Girls Gone Wild.
But the ladies have their wine and are sitting pretty and I’m reminded of nothing I have ever seen on a girl’s night out.
What REALLY happens.
Cut to the Halls of Justice, Nick and Hank are walking in discussing Juliette and Nick asks what happens if he and Juliette don’t make it, and Hank waxes poetic that “you’re stuck with a bunch of pictures you don’t know what to do with”. (Been there.)
Give her space. Lots of space… Like MILES of space.
Sgt. Wu tells Nick and Hank that he has Reverend Calvin waiting for them, as he needs to make a police report for robbery of church funds. It bugs me because we don’t know if Nick and Hank are Major Case, SVU, or just working on a free-for-all case basis… there’s no rhyme or reason as to which cases they are assigned. International terrorist? Call Nick and Hank. Hit and run accident? Call Nick and Hank. Stealing from church coffers? Yep, it’s Nick and Hank.
Well, Toodle-Wu to you too, Sgt. Wu.
Reverend, please sit at least 5 feet from our desks.
Anyway, the Reverend says he’s not sure what’s going on but that a guy named Norman did their accounting for free, as he was a church member, but that all the money is missing from the church bank accounts and that Norman is missing. Nick and Hank take the Reverend’s info and start making some calls and searching on line.
Quickly they get a phone call from Sgt. Wu, who, apparently in the 3 minutes we’ve seen him last at the station, is at the airport and has found Norman’s car. He tells Nick and Hank that the car is clean, but that he found paystub for the mulch factory and that might mean he works at the mulch factory. Sgt. Wu? I think not… let’s call him SuperWu. That’s some serious deduction there.
If you like it, spread it!:

So the baby will be half sheep and half wolf. Will it be a vege or a carnivore?
Sheep look cute when they’re babies but the males become vicious monsters who head butt people (well me) unexpectedly when they are not paying attention. I fully believe if provoked a herd of sheep would attack a wolf.
I agree Juliet needs to go. She has no manners. Of course she should have told Nick she was going out. Even if they are only housemates at the moment it is only courtesy to let him know.
The umbrella plot is frustrating me with its vagueness. Shouldn’t we be moving beyond the dark hint stage with Renard? I feel like the writers keep giving themselves chances to tweak it. What was the point of having Adalinde lose her powers if she’s just going to get them back next episode?
Re killing off a main character: If it is Juliette, it should have happened at the end of last season when it would have had some semblance of shock value. I really want to like this show, and I keep hanging in there, but I wish it would make up its mind about where it’s going.
One more question: What happened to Renard having to become “pure” to kiss Juliette? Was that just a temporary thing? If so, that was quite a lot of time wasted!
@bluedog, if Juliette should have told nick she was going out… As a courtesy, then nick may have wanted to mention that he’s some sort of mythical being with magic powers that might bring great harm to the house. But either way, I think she should go out. For good. Also, I’m sorry about your sheep experience, I had a similar issue with an angry goose when I was younger.
@maryedith, totally agree that the master plot is plodding along, if not forgotten at times. Maybe the writers are trying to figure out how to keep us watching… But there are alot of discrepancies. But as for Renard becoming pure… Let’s just remember, it did allow us to see #shirtlessrage. And for that alone, I am happy. They are saying Monroe’s ex is coming back too… Why can’t hank get a girl?
Oh well, it’s a pretty good show. Not the best. Not the worst… And I do love the special effects.
Thanks for reading.
Madelyne, you rock!!! You made this episode sing, I loved the whole recap!!! Totes make watching the show worth it!!!
And your hate for Juliette is addictive! hee . . .
Yes, Madelyne — this was a really good recap. I should have begun with that.
Forgot to mention………. pissed myself at the ” don’t give a rats arse” caption.
Very excited also that we are getting the eps the same week as you guys.
