Last week Bigfoot ran rampant through the city exposing himself to everyone only for them to believe it was just a mask. Hank and Juliette inched every so closely to the truth and it looked like they might finally catch on to what has been happening around them. Meanwhile, Nick has to debate whether or not to tell his loved ones the truth or keep himself secret in order to protect them. It’s the season finale you guys and they packed a punch into this episode. Thank Grimm it’s coming back in August!

Sleep well Juliette!
Hank wakes up drenched in sweat after having nightmares about seeing Monroe in his Wesen form. Meanwhile, Nick is talking with Monroe in a little coffee shop about how he’s worried about Hank whose mental status is seriously starting to crack. Ever since he saw Monroe as a Blutbad and then the Wildermann, he’s been on edge and unable to comprehend what he has seen. Monroe tries to remind Nick that he too thought he was crazy when he first started to see Grimm things. Monroe says that hospitals are full of people who can’t comprehend what they have seen and he hopes that because he is a cop he will get over it soon. Leaving the shop, they are photographed by some pedophile with a creepy mustache spying from a nearby parked car. The investigator has pictures and articles of the stolen coin case all over his hotel walls and calls Akira Kimura to let him know he has found Marchesa (sort of since he’s dead). I was wondering when we would see him pop up. He’s the last survivor who was suspected of killing Nick’s parents in search of those stupid coins. Nick tries to get Hank to talk about what has happened to him but he is tightlipped. Nick also happens to be looking at Akira on his computer so they speak about him and his viking symbol tattoo which means invincibility.

But why is the cat in a cage?
Speaking of dying, didn’t Adalind become a non-motherfucking factor after losing her powers? So why is she drugging this gorgeous cat with some potion that she just made? I thought she lost all her powers but she can still make potions? Also you’re not supposed to feed milk to cats because it can f’ up their digestive tract. AND why is the cat locked up in a cage and not roaming around like a normal indoor cat? PETA is going to be hearing from me shortly….Adalind brings the drugged cat to Juliette’s office where she is actually working as a vet and not a detective today. She takes a look at the cat and deems that it needs to be kept overnight which is overkill because it’s just a little lethargic according to Adalind. During the examination, the cat ends up scratching Juliette on the hand which she says is an occupational hazard. The cat’s eyes turn black and it’s tongue is bright yellow so maybe she won’t die but she’s definitely going to get something pretty nasty. I mean I get it, Nick made you lose your powers so you want to get back at him but come on…can’t you strike him and not everyone else connected to him? I thought we determined that he’s stronger and smarter than you are already.

Women in Black…never a good sign.
The investigator meets with Akira who has arrived in Portland looking for Marchesa in his shady hotel room. He fills Akira in on the story of what happened with Marchesa and the coins while he was here in Portland and how he died. Kimura and the Investigator believe that Hank, Renard, Monroe or Nick is still in possession of the coins. The Investigator believes that Kimura needs him in order to find them and wants to partner with him. Kimura doesn’t need him though so he ends up killing him. Kimura leaves and later the hotel room gets broken into by a woman in black. She takes a look at the damage and examines the body for something and remarks that he must have found something that wasn’t good for him. I wonder if she’s working with Kimura or looking for him because either way women in black are always a sign of death so I’m wondering who is going to die. $10 on Juliette, any takers?

Ok I thought he was supposed to be badass?
If you like it, spread it!:

I am also baffled by both Renard and Adalind. I certainly don’t want Juliette to become part of the “Grimm team”. I’m not really crazy about her at all and if she died, I don’t think I’d miss her. Love this show and your recaps and can’t wait for the new season!
Dear Grimm, Think about hiring someone for continuity. Please fill in the holes. I am ready to suspend my disbelief as long as you are consistent – and you are not. Sure, I can pretend that the interior of the trailor actually would fit inside the exterior. I am willing to believe! Just know that the use of magic is not an excuse for poor writing and randomness. Fans pay attention. We notice when the constructs of the world of Grimm don’t line up. Examples: does Juliette have a job or not? Why do the wesen only sometimes reveal themselves? Recognize Nick as a Grimm?
While you are at it, hire a woman, or a writer who has the talent to write for them. The female characters on this show are personality-free place holders.
Sincerely, A Fan Who Is Doubting My Committment
I’m probably in the minority on this, but I loved the way they handled Adalind. Thought it was very smart. Sure, she lost her physical powers, but why wouldn’t she keep all her knowledge and want to stir some shit up? I really liked this direction instead of how I thought they would handle her.
Also loved that Juliette is under a spell, that will be fun to watch. Not sure how I feel about Nick’s mom back in the picture. Part of the fun is watching Nick struggle and turn to Monroe for info. Will his mom now fill that role?
And yeah, Renard should’ve kicked that Akira guy in the ass. Maybe he’s just a human but “royalty”. That would explain why Nick doesn’t suspect him as a Wesen. Right now this story line has too many holes they need to plug.
Too many threads. Here’s hoping they pick a storyline for next season and stick with it.
