Hank and Nick are at the crime scene for the investigator but all the evidence has been cleared except the Investigator’s car rental key. They go outside and magically he was able to secure a spot right in front of the building. If that was New York or Chicago, they would have never had a chance to find that car because you know you never find good parking right outside your building. Anyway, they find camera equipment and back at the station, Nick downloads the pictures to find that they were being watched by the dead perp. Hank goes to call Captain to warn him when Nick realizes that Monroe was also being followed. Renard arrives home to his condo and the place has been destroyed and his housekeeper is lying dead on his floor. He is jumped by Akira which makes no sense because I thought Renard was all badass superhuman. Seriously, I thought he was someone that other Wesen didn’t fuck with because they know he’s someone higher up. Akira tortures Renard for information on the coins but he tells him that he doesn’t have them. As he is about to kill Renard, Sgt. Wu knocks on the door to check on Renard. Not getting a response, Wu goes to get the key from the manager and Akira takes the time to leave. The Woman in Black arrives at the building just as Hank and Nick get there. She keeps walking but watches Hank and Nick follow Wu upstairs. They find Renard alive and he explains that Akira was looking for the coins but he told him someone else had them and that person might be dead already.

Just the tip.
Nick warns Monroe about the pictures and then tells him that he wants to interview Akira since he may know what happened to his parents. Monroe finds a passage in one of the books in the trailer about a Grimm who used a crossbow to put poison into a Wesen which subdued him temporarily. They find the required toxin (does this trailer have everything in it? I want to see an episode where they are missing or down to the last drop of someething) and the crossbow in the trailer and prepare arrows for the eventual meeting with Akira. Nick later returns home to find Juliette who is in a good mood since their relationship has been progressing lately (even though he still hasn’t let her in on the truth…). Nick gets upset when he learns that Adalind’s cat has scratched Juliette and he tries to get her to go to a doctor knowing what Adalind was. Juliette doesn’t get the urgency and then forces Nick to finally tell her the truth. He decides to take her to the trailer to finally let her know what has been going on.

Just tell her already! She’s too dumb to figure it out on her own.
Arriving at the trailer, Nick tells Juliette everything but he sounds insane instead of rational. What kind of pissed me off is that Juliette automatically assumes he is insane even though just LAST WEEK she was convinced that Bigfoot might be real. I kept wanting him to be like “um you remember that Bigfoot thing, that shit was real” but he kept babbling to her about the weapons, old books full of strange illustrations and other things that didn’t work in his favor. They argue in the rain but Nick urges her to allow her to show her one more thing. I can understand maybe where Juliette is coming from but that whole episode last week negates any favor I might throw her. Like seriously how do you go from believing in parahumans to not understanding what Nick is trying to tell you. Context Clues Bitch! He’s always got a weird story for something and he hangs out all hours of the night with Monroe, put that shit together!

Resist the urge to bite…resist the urge to bite…
Nick takes Juliette to Monroe to have him transform in front of her which Monroe questions how they got to this point and so quickly. He changes but the scratch from Adalind’s cat takes effect and Juliette collapses before she sees Monroe as a blutbad. Monroe of course thinks she has fainted because of what she has seen. Juliette ends up in the hospital in quarantine while Nick goes to find the cat in order to reverse the spell. They find her still at the animal hospital and bring it to Rosalee who needs to get a sample to determine what potions were used either from the cat or Juliette herself. As they work to calm the cat down to get a sample, Juliette wakes up in the hospital with the same black eyes as the cat. Someone is going to be sucking the breath out of Nick later while he sleeps!

Always gotta drag Rosalie into it.
If you like it, spread it!:

I am also baffled by both Renard and Adalind. I certainly don’t want Juliette to become part of the “Grimm team”. I’m not really crazy about her at all and if she died, I don’t think I’d miss her. Love this show and your recaps and can’t wait for the new season!
Dear Grimm, Think about hiring someone for continuity. Please fill in the holes. I am ready to suspend my disbelief as long as you are consistent – and you are not. Sure, I can pretend that the interior of the trailor actually would fit inside the exterior. I am willing to believe! Just know that the use of magic is not an excuse for poor writing and randomness. Fans pay attention. We notice when the constructs of the world of Grimm don’t line up. Examples: does Juliette have a job or not? Why do the wesen only sometimes reveal themselves? Recognize Nick as a Grimm?
While you are at it, hire a woman, or a writer who has the talent to write for them. The female characters on this show are personality-free place holders.
Sincerely, A Fan Who Is Doubting My Committment
I’m probably in the minority on this, but I loved the way they handled Adalind. Thought it was very smart. Sure, she lost her physical powers, but why wouldn’t she keep all her knowledge and want to stir some shit up? I really liked this direction instead of how I thought they would handle her.
Also loved that Juliette is under a spell, that will be fun to watch. Not sure how I feel about Nick’s mom back in the picture. Part of the fun is watching Nick struggle and turn to Monroe for info. Will his mom now fill that role?
And yeah, Renard should’ve kicked that Akira guy in the ass. Maybe he’s just a human but “royalty”. That would explain why Nick doesn’t suspect him as a Wesen. Right now this story line has too many holes they need to plug.
Too many threads. Here’s hoping they pick a storyline for next season and stick with it.
