Grimm Season Finale Recap: Woman in Black

Hank calls Nick to warn him about the Woman in Black since Wu, who happened to find the hotel room Akira was staying at, was attacked by her. Hank then heads back to his house which has been rummaged through so he cautiously searches until he reaches a closet door. He’s so shakened by his previous encounters and things that he cannot explain that he ends up shooting through the closet. I was kind of hoping that someone would be behind the door but there was nothing. He calls to warn Nick about Akira possibly heading to his house next and then sits in a chair with his back to the wall and a shotgun and a rifle occupying his hands. He’s definitely lost his damn mind and I don’t think there is any coming back from it. Nick is at Adalind’s searching for her or a trace of where she might have gone as her apartment is completely bare except for the bowl of tainted milk. Why Nick didn’t bring the bowl to Rosalie so she can determine what was put in it is beyond me but he’s the detective, not me.

He took on TWO Reapers but he’s struggling with one guy?

Nick returns home and finds his house is also destroyed and then comes face to face with Akira. He tries to shoot him with the crossbow but misses and ends up just yelling a bunch of questions at him as they battle. Akira knows that Nick is a Grimm and determines that he knows where the coins are. He demands that Nick hand them over while fighting him. You know, for someone who destroyed two Reapers on his own he’s having a tough time with this one Akira. Anyway, the woman in black ends up coming in and breaking up the fight and finally kills Akira. Her and Nick spar for a bit until she reveals herself to Nick…turns out it is his mom.

*Mind.Blown*

Gasmii what did you think of the season finale? Were you expecting Nick’s mom to pop up and does this mean that his dad is hanging around somewhere too? How come Renard didn’t destroy Akira considering we know he’s a powerful Wesen player? Did you expect Adalind to pull tricks at the last minute or did we think she was gone for good? The next season starts in late summer so catch up now if you haven’t. You can check out last week’s episode recap, watch NBC Fridays, Mondays and Tuesdays or you can watch all the episodes on NBC.com/Grimm. I hope you enjoyed the Grimm recaps!

I am also baffled by both Renard and Adalind. I certainly don’t want Juliette to become part of the “Grimm team”. I’m not really crazy about her at all and if she died, I don’t think I’d miss her. Love this show and your recaps and can’t wait for the new season!

Dear Grimm, Think about hiring someone for continuity. Please fill in the holes. I am ready to suspend my disbelief as long as you are consistent – and you are not. Sure, I can pretend that the interior of the trailor actually would fit inside the exterior. I am willing to believe! Just know that the use of magic is not an excuse for poor writing and randomness. Fans pay attention. We notice when the constructs of the world of Grimm don’t line up. Examples: does Juliette have a job or not? Why do the wesen only sometimes reveal themselves? Recognize Nick as a Grimm?
While you are at it, hire a woman, or a writer who has the talent to write for them. The female characters on this show are personality-free place holders.
Sincerely, A Fan Who Is Doubting My Committment

I’m probably in the minority on this, but I loved the way they handled Adalind. Thought it was very smart. Sure, she lost her physical powers, but why wouldn’t she keep all her knowledge and want to stir some shit up? I really liked this direction instead of how I thought they would handle her.

Also loved that Juliette is under a spell, that will be fun to watch. Not sure how I feel about Nick’s mom back in the picture. Part of the fun is watching Nick struggle and turn to Monroe for info. Will his mom now fill that role?

And yeah, Renard should’ve kicked that Akira guy in the ass. Maybe he’s just a human but “royalty”. That would explain why Nick doesn’t suspect him as a Wesen. Right now this story line has too many holes they need to plug.

Too many threads. Here’s hoping they pick a storyline for next season and stick with it.
