Alana says that’s what Pumpkin gets for trying to stuff her into a box. And, I have to agree.
When Alana finally meets Kaitlyn, she is just in love. She announces that now they have one more family member to love. Everyone is just enjoying the moment and Sugar Bear just sits and proudly watches his family.
Speaking of Sugar Bear smiling:
So, he does have teeth. They just happen to be really jacked up from smokeless tobacco.
And to further prove just how much a part of this family Kaitlyn is, it seems that she has inherited the “compulsive sneezing” gene from June. Which probably means, that I will have to deal with even more of TLC’s “sneezing is funny” montages.
Dear TLC, Sneezes are not funny. Please stop. Seriously. Stop it right now. Kisses, PlathAddict
Since Alana missed the scheduled pageant because Kaitlyn being born, she tells Alana that there is another pageant in 2 days. Alana is excited and June calls in the heavy artillery, Uncle Poodle. Uncle Poodle is Sugar Bear’s brother, and he is gay. His name is actually Lee, but Alana calls him Poodle because she thinks that all poodles are gay – she’s 7, let’s just go with it. She goes on to tell us that nobody cares about people being gay, as everyone is a little gay.
Uncle Poodle tries to get Alana to practice her walk and include a cartwheel. He does not have success. Instead, he gets into a grass fight with Alana and Pumpkin.
He refers to himself as “rebelchious” and then stuffs a bunch of grass down the back of Pumpkin’s pants. Ahh, family bonding at it’s best.
It’s the day of the pageant and Alana’s dress isn’t fitting correctly. She tells her mom that she is feeling chunky, so June tells her to cut back on her chicken nuggets. Alana, forlornly says that she can’t. I don’t know why I laughed as much as I did when she said that. I mean the logical part of me fears for her dietary health. But, the other part of me was just tickled by how serious she was about how difficult it would be to not have any chicken nuggets.
The show must go on regardless of how chunky Alana feels. So, they pin up her dress and she takes the stage. Pumpkin sums it up for us by explaining that the other pageant girls are twigs while Alana is a log, or possibly a boulder. But it doesn’t really matter because June has taught them that beauty comes in all sizes. Alana can’t wait until Kaitlyn can start doing pageants with her.
