Homeland Recap: Hell Hath No Fury

Turns out those crazy kids thought a fun date would be to the Washington Monument. Dana and Finn leave his Secret Service detail at the bottom and head up to the top to declare their pubescent feelings of like to each other.

Also to film some footage for the next Spy Kids caper

Dana and Finn kiss briefly, but Dana pull away and says she must end her current relationship first. She might be adopted.

~~~
Lauder wakes up in Mike’s apartment and immediately apologizes for teasing Mike about his relationship with Jessica. Oh yeah, he did that too cause he’s a class act. Mike is more interested in teaming up to smoke out Brody. Turns out he has his suspicions as well and they start piecing together that Brody’s involvement with the CIA might have something to do with  Tom Walker cover up. Keep trying guys!
~~~

Brody is checking into a hotel that is being checked out.

“Don’t mind me peering at you. That’s just how I read the paper”

As Carrie and Peter watch over the bugged hotel room, Peter dares to ask if she banged Brody for love or her mission. Carrie ignores this and turns the tables to dig into his past. She finds out that Peter claims to be from a good family in Philly, with an ivy league education and a recurring penchant for Indian food. Maybe those claims of being in Venezuela were bogus after all. He answers that Estes likes him for being likeable and “extremely reliable”. We’ll see what Carrie can do about that.

Brody is off-camera knocking back hotel bar drinks. Virgil is in his frame of vision just standing around watching. Maybe he just has one of those faces.

“Don’t mind me staring at you, that’s just how I play pool”

Virgil has hooked them into the hotel security cameras so they get a first hand view of Brody drinking alone and he is contemplating using his phone. Peter is anxiously urging Brody on to dial his Nazir contact but I think we all know what’s about to happen.

To be fair, when you’ve been a POW so long, your drunk dial options are limited

Brody invites Carrie out so he can see her hatchet-wound bury the hatchet. I hope they turned down the cell playback or this is going to be a very confusing call for Brody. Peter encourages her to meet with him and they decide that since time is short and they don’t know that he’s contacted the handler already, they need to spook him more so he’ll make that call. They would have loved to see Roya meet him in that parking lot last week! Carrie agrees to just come out and mention Abu Nazir to get things going.

“I’m going to have to watch you have sex, aren’t I?”

MrsMiaWallace is an east coast girl with a  penchant for travel, libations and great cuisine. She is not known to turn down a mimosa or a martini and finds the transition between the two a good way to mark the passing of time since she can never remember to wear a watch. Her secret love for reality tv and addiction to Bravo have drawn her like a moth to the glittering snark of TVGasm,  where she finds there are others like her... hopefully also nursing Bloody Marys.

    This is a great recap and pretty dang funny.

    I was pretty surprised by the ending, too. I don’t know why she chose that route? She relies on her gut instincts so I guess that will be her excuse. What is the deal with that new guy?

    This show is so implausible but the acting is awesome. I love it.

    Great recap !
    I knew she was going to confront him when she came to his hotel door. I kept yelling, NO, but there she was. I thought maybe they would let it play out and get a confession to turn him or have him call his contact. I have no clue how they are going to play this out. I don’t want Brody to disapear from the show. I have to say that I also like Peter. Great line when he asked how many times do you have to tell her something…and Saul said..many.

    Amazing ending to a pretty good episode! I’m with JKW, I knew she was going to do something crazy and blow her cover when she knocked on his door. It would take a hell of a lot of loyalty to your agency to sleep with your terrorist ex in front of your co-workers, and Carrie obviously has multiple axes to grind with both Brody and the CIA.
