Homeland Recap: Hell Hath No Fury

Carrie is in the room and flirting like mad and I can’t believe she’s going to have to bang him in front of her coworkers to save the mission but then! She blows the cover and straight up accuses him of being a terrorist! I was so wrong and I almost can’t believe this is happening that I’m wondering if it’s all a fantasy sequence! Things are going haywire as he attempts denial, but she clearly knows everything and then he just starts advancing towards her menacingly. She’s not scared because she knows Uncle Saul will never let her get hurt and she just keeps hammering home his treason and failures.

“You’re going to wish you ended up like JFK

She uses his family and his former position as a soldier to shame him and then she calls him “special”. I think in the good way. Brody is baffled and says that he liked her, a line he probably learned from his daughter’s dating expertise, and then Carrie exclaims “I LOVED you”. And that’s when the feds burst in.

Worst date ever

The Control Room is watching in stunned horror. I think the intelligence of letting a discredited, mentally ill former agent back into the game is hitting Peter heavily. This certainly isn’t the big Nazir get that Estes was counting on for this mission to save his political hide.

“Why couldn’t she just take one for the team?”

While Brody’s getting his face ground into the carpet, Carrie makes sure to continue to shame him and issue threats for betraying his country. He gets the Black Hood of Due Process and is hustled out. If that hotel is like every other one, the people in the room next door got quite a show!

Or not, this is hardly the kinkiest moment in a hotel a white, married politician has ever had

So what happens next??? First, I am shocked she didn’t sleep with him to allay his fears and continue the mission! I guess she couldn’t bring herself to after all he put her through. Plus maybe he would’ve tried to off her at that point anyway? This was a great unexpected twist, and based on previews there is more mindfuckery coming. Maybe Brody will use his cool demeanor, terrorist training and Polygraph evasion abilities to convince them he can become a double secret agent! Estes is certainly going to feel pressured to find a CYA solution to this SNAFU, and might advocate something ill-advised. What role will Peter play? Emphasizing how much Estes relies on him makes me think he has some shady favors in his resume and maybe he will be asked to solve the Carrie issue somehow. Will she be re-discredited for this? Double secret probation??

MrsMiaWallace is an east coast girl with a  penchant for travel, libations and great cuisine. She is not known to turn down a mimosa or a martini and finds the transition between the two a good way to mark the passing of time since she can never remember to wear a watch. Her secret love for reality tv and addiction to Bravo have drawn her like a moth to the glittering snark of TVGasm,  where she finds there are others like her... hopefully also nursing Bloody Marys.

This is a great recap and pretty dang funny.

I was pretty surprised by the ending, too. I don’t know why she chose that route? She relies on her gut instincts so I guess that will be her excuse. What is the deal with that new guy?

This show is so implausible but the acting is awesome. I love it.

    Great recap !
I knew she was going to confront him when she came to his hotel door. I kept yelling, NO, but there she was. I thought maybe they would let it play out and get a confession to turn him or have him call his contact. I have no clue how they are going to play this out. I don’t want Brody to disapear from the show. I have to say that I also like Peter. Great line when he asked how many times do you have to tell her something…and Saul said..many.

Amazing ending to a pretty good episode! I’m with JKW, I knew she was going to do something crazy and blow her cover when she knocked on his door. It would take a hell of a lot of loyalty to your agency to sleep with your terrorist ex in front of your co-workers, and Carrie obviously has multiple axes to grind with both Brody and the CIA.
