Last week the judges made what I thought was the worst decision ever but really they made it this week. They sent Clint home over something that didn’t look that bad and over others who really deserved to leave. I just…I feel like this group this year isn’t even touching the level of last year’s group. I can’t be the only one that feels like last year was more talented.

We open with everyone discussing the last elimination where Jesse is now bitching about his win. He feels like a sell out because he won doing something that had none of his own style and he is now more concerned with turning out pieces the judges want versus what he would normally do. If he is so concerned with selling out he could always pull a Best Ink Roman and walk out. Everyone meets up with the judges at Iridium where Dave is playing on the guitar. I kind of got a little sad because I had forgotten all about Jane’s Addiction up until this point.

The challenge this week will be testing dimension and the artists have 3 hours to create a creepy/sexy design on one of Dave’s actual guitars. Sarah ends up changing her design midway which freaks out Dave because this is how he makes his living when he isn’t hosting reality competitions or sharing a flat iron the next morning with his date from the previous night. Jamie is doing some weird demon skull fetus, Kat is doing a green pin-up and Steve is doing some skull thing that he thinks is creepy and scary.

Steve

Sebastian

Sarah

Kat

Jesse

Jamie
The judges are all unimpressed with the results and Dave actually looks pissed that they ruined his guitars. Maybe he should have thought about that before he gave them his actual guitars but then again I’m sure he gets them supplied to him for free. Dave complains that they all went to their go to styles or that they basically copped out on the challenge. Oliver says they were overall disappointing and that he wouldn’t want to be on stage with any of them while Chris really goes off. He asks if any of them actually want to win which prompts Sarah to say that they are all trying very hard. Chris says that he knows they can all do much more but they are recycling old designs which makes Jesse question what they really want to see. Chris says he doesn’t give a fuck as long as it’s something different and as Jesse tries to interject, Oliver bags him and says at least he had the best one out of the bunch while the others fucking sucked. Chris tells them to move it along and Dave announces Jesse as the winner.
If you like it, spread it!:

Has anyone else been watching Tommy’s show after ink Master? (Tommy…from season 1.)
Tattoo Nightmares. Good grief! What were some of those people thinking!
And I think Jamie went home because the judges interpreted the drawn on tattoos as Jamie proverbially thunmbing his nose at them. If he had wanted to score points, he would have said, “well…I’ve been waiting for the best. Will one of you do the honors?”
Are the judges on drugs? Who cares that Jaime didn’t have tattoos? He was one of the last consistent artists there. Then the judges keep saying these people have to be well rounded and Google Eyes manages to skate through doing new school tats (if I didn’t hate new school before…). I thought for sure the top 4 would be Clint, Steve, Jaime, and Kat. It appears the current top 4 is going to be a joke. Last season was so much stronger.
Also Clint probs would’ve killed the guitar challenge. And no, I’m still not over him leaving. Lol. But seriously…
Not gonna lie, I am getting pretty tired of these asshole judges. Yes, it’s “Ink Master” they need to master 100% of all possible tattoo styles (I guess?) but some of the stuff they get upset about it just bitchy.
I had to draw the line at Jamie’s lack of ink. Who cares? It’s not like I wouldn’t trust a doctor who will perform knee surgery on me if they hadn’t had the same surgery himself….it’s all about the quality of the work.
And for the record I have seen tons of tattoo artists (and these judges) with really shitty tattoos (AHEM looking at you, Dave Navarro) so I can see why Jamie would rather be blank, than covered up with bad tatts just for the hell of it. Maybe he just doesnt trust anyone with an ink gun besides himself…which could be control issue, but that’s a whole other discussion
Yeah, annie. I don’t understand the judges’ thinking, either. Does their neurosurgeon have to have brain surgery to earn his “creds?” If he’s a good artist, who cares?
So much bullshit in this episode.
Number one, the contenders this seasons are definitely not as talented. When they were all whining about how nobody on the planet could do as well as they’ve been doing, I wanted to reach in and slap the shit out of them, because did they not watch last season?
Nobody did perfectly, but Shane and Tommy came close, and they were dealing with much of the same things. So that’s two other people on the planet right there. Four, if you count James and Josh, both of whom were also very talented.
So I really need the artists to cut the shit, because nobody is asking them to pick up Mount Everest and move it to Chile. They judges just want creative and beautifully executed pieces of art, which should not be impossible, if you want to be called an Ink Master.
I’ve especially had it with Steve’s whiny ass. Sarah is pretty terrible, but Steve is the unforgivable one. At his age and with his supposed experience, he is the last one who needs to be up there bitching and moaning. Ought to be ashamed of his damn lavender-shirted self.
For real though, Dave looked really hurt that they fucked up his guitars and I felt bad for him. I forgot he actually had a talent.
Moving right along to the judges, that whole thing about Jamie not having tattoos was ridiculous.
He’s a good artist and his tattoo was better than Sarah’s, and that’s all that should matter. By their criteria, they would trust Dave to tattoo them before they would trust Jamie. So stupid.
Plus, Sarah is insane and her grip on reality seems to be loosening with every passing day. In the beginning, she was just a little unsettling, but at this point, I live in full-fledged terror of her.
I’m pretty sure it’s not even safe to have her in the house at this point.
And I wonder if that time that all her friends descended on the comments section, they weren’t all her.
I think she’s crazy enough for that.
And they all sounded suspiciously similar.
Poor Jamie. I’m going to miss his beautiful face, death-staring eyes, and his Baby Gap couture.
At this point, I think it’s pretty clear that Steve has this one in the bag. If he doesn’t win, I’d be so shocked.
Katherine has crept up nicely, so I see her in the top 3 too.
The only question is whether Sarah or Jesse will fill that last spot.
The only valid criticism of Jamie not having tattoos was when someone said he should know what it feels like to get one. I’ve seen a quote that says “the difference between people who have tattoos and those who don’t is people who have tattoos don’t care if you don’t.” Guess that’s not true! Jamie was spot on when he commented that those with ink complain about being judged, and here they’re judging him for not having any body art. @chaosbutterfly, love your comment about him!
I can’t believe Jesse is still there! Seriously, does anyone other than maybe a 15 year old boy think that google eyed shit is cool?
I wonder what kind of contract the canvases have to sign. When Sarah was trying to talk hers out of getting a wolf, Mr. dancer and I said we’d just walk out and tell the judges “she wouldn’t do what I asked”.
Kat’s tattoo was beautiful. Even unfinished, she should have won. At this point, I’m rooting for her.
No one got the Reel Big Fish reference picture??
I still hate Jesse’s one trick googly eyes!!
Jamie going home was a poor decision. Guest-judge Forrest came off as a full on dbag. It’s been said a million times, but why was he personally critiqued for not having tattoos? It’s not who has the best ink, it’s who can lay down the best ink and Jamie should still be in the running based on that. Sarah should have gone home that day for being average since day 1. The fact that she’s insane is irrelevant, her tattoo work is average at best. The more recent episode that sent Jesse packing was also a poor choice. He didn’t do an outstanding portrait however Sebastian’s was every bit as poor and as he says, \this is what he does\. Sebastian hasn’t won shit all season and again the judging is a fail.
I didn’t like that guy jamie. He tried to screw everyone up. Everyone should be given equal tasks instead of the winner of one contest allowed to choose the easiest challenge while giving someone a shitty picking. He thought he was clever and funny. I know he wasn’t the only one but thats just a rigid contest if you ask me.
Anyway, though i didn’t like jamie the old man forester who was the vip guest judge got on my nerves the worst. That old man had the nerves to bring out that jamie didn’t have tatoos and on top of that he got an attitude about it the whole time. The worst part was that all the judges claimed they didn’t like jamies tattoo because the wolf had a big forehead. It was fine except for the small teeth and mouth. Thats when that old man forester brung up his problem about jamie not having tatoos as if he had been the judge the whole time and as if jamie had been messing up the whole time since he started the contest. He said if you had tatoo’s you would know it is to get a tatoo. Get a life and get over it. So the man doesn’t have any tatoos but it doesn’t mean he isn’t a tatoo artist. He had a stinky attitude and mean expression about it the whole time. What made it even worse was when they eliminated jamie, jamie can out with some tatoos that the other contestants had draw on him with markers because they had a feeling he was going home. That old man forester said it was disrespecting him and got seriously angry. If I were jamie I would of told him to fuck off and shove his tatoo idealogies up his ass when i was told i was elimianted.
Anyway most of the judges have tried to look for any excuse to send some contestants home while they overlooked many horrible artists errors that should of sent them home. Maybe its to get more diverse people to watch. But a contest has to be a contest with fairness or else its a rigid contest.
Um thanks for the spoiler, dopemelody..
I didn’t like this season. The first season is the best so far. Hope the next one will raise the standards.
