Before I jump into the episode, I want to clarify something: some of you feel that I’m being way too hard on Mike, and others think that I’m right to be so suspicious and wary about him still. If he proves me wrong this season (and I truly hope he does, because I’m not 100% nasty and mean spirited) I will apologize to him via Twitter. And if he proves me right, I’ll try not to say “I told you so” at any point in a recap. Sound fair? Good.
Previously on Jersey Shore: The eight roommates returned to Seaside Heights, but due to Mike’s brand spankin’ new sobriety and the bun in Snooki’s oven, group dynamics are not what they used to be.
Watching the credits, the question occurs to me: does anybody actually use the nickname “Sweetheart” for Sammi?
We’re back with the gang at Karma. Deena’s boyfriend Chris is there, and she introduces him to her roommates.
She tells us that he is the best thing that ever happened to her, but she doesn’t get to see him a lot because of how much he works. I have admittedly been watching far too many Law & Order reruns lately, but when I hear that my initial thought is “bigamist!” He looks like a nice guy though, and I hope for Deena’s sake that he is a good, decent, hard working man. “The one or two days I get to see him, it’s like, ‘Meep!’” she says, making a kissing motion with her hands. She tells Chris that she’s wearing blue just for him.
Vinny tells us that it’s their first night back at Karma and they’re having a great time, but it’s weird without Snooki. “Nicole is taking it easy, doing what a pregnant chick does.” And what a pregnant chick does is…
Eat, of course! In the restaurant, Snooki is talking about how much she loves mashed potatoes and steals bites off of Jionni’s plate. He tells her that if he tried to eat off of her plate, she would stab him. “So?” Snooki asks. Snooki’s facial expression changes and Jionni asks her what’s up. “I hear house music,” she says. Either put cotton in her ears or tie her to the mast until you’ve sailed past those sirens, Jionni. He tells her to relax. She asks him if he wants to dance and he says he doesn’t know. Snooki interviews that everyone is at Karma and she’s left out. Let us all remember that she chose to go out on a mellow date with her fiance rather than going to the club. “It really does suck, but just to be with Jionni and not think about it, and be in love? This is good.” Except she is thinking about it, and talking about it, and moping about it. “Do you wish you were going to Karma?” Snooki asks.
And he’s clearly thrilled to pieces.
