“It’s funny how you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s almost taken away from you,” Vinny says. Mike says that almost everything was taken away from him. “It’s definitely a breakthrough right now that Vinny can sort of connect with me,” Mike tells us, “on a level other than GTL.” Ronnie and Pauly rejoin them, and as they walk down the boardwalk, Vinny says “YOLO,” and Mike replies, “YOLO.”
Elsewhere on the boardwalk, JMomm and Deena are also riding the rides. They decide to stop in at Jimbo’s and get a drink. “It’s 5:00 somewhere,” Deena chirps, sitting at the bar. Then she realizes that it may actually be 5:00 right then and there. “I am having so much fun with Jenni right now,” Deena interviews. “We’re drinking, we’re starting to get a nice buzz, but I’m like, ‘Oh, she’s, like, gonna be my substitute Meatball!’” Remembering her breakdown last season during the camping trip about how lonely she felt in the house, it’s good to see Deena bonding with someone other than Snooki.
Jenni belches loudly. “See, that was no shame,” Deena tells her. “No shame, good integrity,” Jenni replies. Deena asks what integrity is. “I don’t know what that… integrity,” Deena says, pondering. “I think integrity means, like,” and she goes silent for a full second. “Integrity means, like, shame,” she concludes. “Like, I got a lot of shame, I have a lot of integrity.” JMomm snort-laughs at this definition. “Shame and integrity are kinda the same things,” Deena tells us. “Because it’s like, if you say, ‘I have no shame,’ that means you have no integrity. Or it means you have — I don’t know, it gets very confusing.”
Words are hard.
JMomm decides that they should ask the bartender what integrity means. The bartender defines integrity as “self worth and values.” “Like shame!” Deena exclaims. “Like, say I was not wearing my underwears. And then I, like, pelvic thrusted the windows.”
As, for example, in this scenario.
“With no underwears on. And I was like, ‘No shame!’ That would be integrity or not integrity?” The bartender says that would be a lack of integrity. “See?” Deena beams proudly. “No shame!” I somehow doubt that Deena took the SAT, but if she did I would love to know what her scores were. Do they give negative scores on the SAT? The bartender keeps trying to explain what integrity actually means. “People can just go to school at a bar,” Deena tells Jenni. “It’s like a class.” This is so depressing.
Snooki and Sammi are done shopping and wonder if the other girls are done playing. “Probably, unless they’ve started drinking,” Snooki says. “If Jenni starts drinking with Deena, I’m gonna punch her,” she adds. Jenni doesn’t go drinking with Snooki and therefore it is not allowed for her to go drinking with Deena. “She kinda doesn’t drink a lot,” Sammi says. Snooki tells her that when they were in Cancun, Jenni went wild. “I’m like, ‘Where have you been my whole life?’” Where she was, Snooki, was holding your hair out of your face while you puked and making sure that when you passed out you were lying on your side so that if you puked in your sleep you wouldn’t aspirate and die. Stop being an ungrateful cow. Inside Jimbo’s, Deena and Jenni are toasting to happy hour. “I’m drunk and you made me smile,” Jenni tells Deena. I’m pretty sure that’s the nicest thing Jenni has ever said to her.
