Everyone is weeping by the end of things. Maybe all those tears will get cleanse some of the stains out of that awful carpet. There’s a big hug out, which seems to clear the air a bit, and it’s clear that there is plenty of love in this family, even though they spend a lot of time plotting each others’ deaths. Families can be like that, you know.
Gordon knows he needs to start from scratch in that kitchen, so he suits up and shows the boys how to get shit done. But did he just glaze the cooked kabobs with the same basting brush he used to glaze the uncooked ones? Let’s hope not, because I guarantee those dudes don’t know any better. He makes everyone smile with his delicious kabobs, and takes a picture to commemorate it before moving on to the redesign. The look doesn’t really suit my tastes, but it’s better than the pink shit that was in there before. It actually gives Sam chills of happiness, and he thanks Gordon from the heart and manages to sneak in a Ramsay cuddle. So he’s already a winner, whether or not the relaunch works.
It goes pretty well, actually, and the customers appreciate the food. I’m sure they also appreciate the lack of domestic unrest emanating from the kitchen. Yeah, the yelling has stopped for now, and it seems like the kids are content to stick around until Sam gets it together enough to hire a paid staff. Sure, their feet will be pointed toward the exit the second that happens, but for now they’re sticking behind their dad. Aw, that’s nice. Good food, better décor, and family harmony. Is there anything Gordon can’t do? He presents them with the picture of them smiling so they remember what that looks like, then dives out the door before he gets roped into another shift. He’s worked his magic yet again, apparently, because the update is full of good news, including the shocking sight of Sam hanging a Help Wanted sign in the window. Keep an eye on the news for mention of the bloodbath that’s sure to ensue as the Najjar siblings battle it out to see who gets to quit first.
Next time, we realize Gordon got a break this week with laid back Sam, as the proprietor in the upcoming episode appears to be some kind of strange asshole drama queen. What else is new.

Good recap! I felt sorry for the kids on this show – it looks like they also weren’t allowed to continue their education after high school so may not be ready for any other type of job outside of the restaurant industry. Thanks, Dad! (oh an my captcha code = white bread, lol)
Great recap-I was totally with you on calling bullshit on not paying his kids, and I did think it was funny Gordon made the girls tell the dad first they wanted to quit…it was pretty clear dad was not going to let that happen. Maybe he didn’t pay them because he knows they’d be on the first plane to the east coast as soon as they could scrape together the money. Yikes.
“proof-reading the menu” snort#@*&—-I do that too
LOL–my cap code is ………………………….send packing
good one cap code
ok– and ready !!!!
bwwahaaaa cap code is ……………….gathers moss. Some of the restaurants have had that issue–nuff said.
I feel bad for the whole family—Mom certainly has been shouted down and discounted other than as a breeder. Dad worked hard for his dream and cannot fathom that NONE of the kids wants the dream. The kids-hhmmm…..we have some brats and some who are really struggling.
I understand this—-Grandpa Cawfee owned a bar waaay back and b/c its a cash business only trusted family to work there. He did realize that his dream was not that of his sons and no one followed in Pop’s footsteps.
