Well, have we all recovered from the shock of AAliens finally getting sent home? I think I miss his delusional ass already. I’m still stuck with a few people I don’t like, and you guys are still stuck with Becky, who I’m glad I don’t TOTALLY hate, because I’m pretty sure she’s gonna win this thing.
Again this week, there’s no time wasted. MasterChef is all about getting right down to business these days.
The minis will be split into two teams, and each team will be vying for the vote of 101 dal–er, hungry cowboys. Teddy tells them that he knows the secret to making cowboys happy. It’s beef. And, lucky for the minichefs, there are a couple Sooner Schooners full of “high quality” steaks from Wal-Mart. Firstly, that’s the second time this season the minis have been handed Wal-Mart steaks to cook with. Secondly, this is a smaller number of people to cook for than the previous team events, and they’re cooking something that every one of them should know how to cook pretty well. To me, this team “challenge” is a bit of a crapshoot. Or, since it’s MasterChef, more of a “who doesn’t fuck-up” shoot.
I’m calling it now. Whichever team keeps it simple wins.
Actually, I guess it kind of does, huh?
So, we’ve seen this challenge before. The hungry hungry cowboys will have some food from each team, and the team that gets the most votes wins.
In case you forgot, Frank the Toaster and WannaHooch are the two team captains. WH tells us she’s gonna be the best team captain MasterChef has ever seen. I somehow am not convinced.
Frank gets to pick first. He tells everyone that Becky is his biggest competition, and he wants that person on his team.
WannaHooch takes Stace-aholic.
Frankie picks Josh.
WannaHooch picks Beautiful Rhino. Wait, what?
The two leftovers are Felix and DareDevil. Frank clearly feels bad leaving DareDevil for last pick, but what can ya do? This is literally her only weakness on MasterChef…team challenges are just tough when you’re blind. DD tells us she wants to prove that she can be as big a boon to her team as anyone else can.
So, Blue: WannaHooch, BR, Stace-aholic, and DareDevil
Red: Frank the Toaster, Felix, Josh, and Becky.
Frankie tells us that his team is the dream team.
Gordie tells the minis that there’s a twist a-comin’! “In the real world, chefs have to be able to adapt to working with people they don’t necessarily have confidence in.” So what does this mean? That Frank and WannaHooch have to switch teams. What the fuck? I thought being a team captain was supposed to come with an advantage?!?
