Greetings, Gasmii! Welcome to the season premier of “Dancing with the Stars: All Stars.”

This is what passes for “stars” these days.

DWTS apparently ran out of new D-listers to exploit, so they had to bring in past contestants who weren’t really doing anything else. Everything goes just as you would expect. The dancers who were good their first seasons are still good. The dancers who weren’t so good in their first seasons still kind of suck. The most exciting thing about the premier was the addition of half points to the scoring. Please try to contain your joy.

Len is still grumpy. Bruno is still silly. The newly single Carrie Ann is hornier than usual. This time around, Tom Bergeron has an Emmy and Brooke Burke Charvet still lacks a personality. Buckle up, Gasmii. Another season of DWTS has begun!

Aside from making fun of reality television on a weekly basis, PopePhilly is a legal assistant by day and avid kickball player by night (well, at least on Thursdays). On the nerd front, she is an active member of the forensic speech and debate community. She spends her time judging at tournaments throughout the country and serving on the board of directors for the West Chester University alumni chapter of Pi Kappa Delta (yes, speech nerds get to pretend to be cool by having Greek letters).

    Get Bristol Palin off immediately! I don’t care that Pam Anderson is worse…I want Palin gone.

    I agree! My daughter and I made a chart with everyone on it, and we put down our guesses as to who gets voted off when. Bristol is first on my chart. I hope it doesn’t turn out like last time when all the family friends voted to keep her on. She did not deserve to be on as long as she was last time. On the other hand, it was fun to watch Kirstie & Maks again!

    This show seems to put a jinx on recappers. Hope you are able to stick it out for the whole season!

    Hi Pope Phily.
    Missed you and your fab recaps..I tried watching Dancing…but what this show really needs is Edith Flagg or Josh Flagg or Colton!!!

    @TV Junkie: Holy crap!!! Dancing with the Flaggs would be the best show EVER!!!!

    I actually groaned out loud when Bristol was announced as safe.
