I’m still not sure how I feel about this season being so much longer than last season. I love the show and any excuse to see Big Ang (yay!) is really great. But, at the same time, I feel like a lot of the drama was stretched longer than it should have been just to give us this super sized season. This episode was a good example of that for me. This week there was a great deal of “will they or won’t they” happening with nothing really being resolved. It was all about the men in these women’s lives and while I appreciate just getting more backstory on how these women interact with the men, it still seemed like a whole lotta nothing happening.
We start out with Drita and the extra cute Lucky. She she gets a call from Lee and it’s actually a little jarring to me. He isn’t cussing her out or even using profanity in general. They talk about her video and laugh over the fact that she is the getaway driver for a bank robbery. They talk about the fact that she raps on the remix for the song, and surprisingly, he has even heard of French Montana. What’s even more surprising is that he doesn’t pitch a fit when she talks to him about getting back into dating. Well, maybe it’s not that surprising. I suspect that this kinder gentler Lee is trying to work his way back into Drita’s life and good graces. Anyway, Drita doesn’t know what to do about her husband being sweet and supportive as it reminds her of why she fell for him in the first place. But, she is still resolved to divorce him and move forward – so hopefully she can stick to that.
Stay strong Drita
Next we see Karen and CousinSuckUp at a fancy grocery/deli/coffee shop. Karen tells CousinSuckUp that she is contemplating sitting down with Drita – you know, for Renee’s sake and not because it may feed possible storylines. CousinSuckUp is dead set against it because she really needs the income this show provides.
Don’t you dare act like an adult and ruin this for me.
She isn’t even subtle in her wish to keep the feud going. But, Karen is adamant about coming across as the bigger person so that maybe she has a shot at competing with Drita’s popularity this year.
Carla and Big Ang (yay!) are having drinks and discussing Joe. Carla says that when Joe first got out of the halfway house, he was over all the time hanging out with the kids and just enjoying his family. Now he has become distant. Big Ang quickly deduces that Joe has a girlfriend. This doesn’t really seem to surprise Carla as Joe has a history of keeping a long line of girlfriends even when they were married. But she is bothered by the fact that her kids only just got their father back and he has already become distracted away from spending time with them.
Big Ang takes her AJ to a jewelry store so she can buy him a gift for his 23rd birthday. Also, she wants to buy some diamonds for herself – atta girl! She tells AJ that in a couple of years he should come back to the jewelry store buy a ring for a nice girl who will take care of him. AJ says that just isn’t how he rolls and he already has a nice girl to take care of him – Big Ang. And seriously, why would a 23 year old be thinking about settling down when he has a mother who cooks for him and buys him jewelry?
Renee takes her AJ and his girlfriend, Sydney bowling. With all of the crap going on in their lives, she really feels he needs family time. He has been having trouble in school – most likely because of his dad and grandfather’s situations. Also, the show probably doesn’t help matters. Did you guys hear that AJ got arrested? I totally believe that he was trying to break up a fight and the girl accusing him of hitting her is looking for a paycheck. Anyway, Renee is trying to get AJ to talk to her about school and she wants to make sure he takes school seriously. She tries to get Sydney to help her out with the convincing. But AJ isn’t interested and Sydney, backs him saying that Renee’s nagging is kind of irritating.
You know what I find irritating? Your face!
If you like it, spread it!:

Plath you forgot the hand of god for the discipline picture.
That is the only object I was hit with.
Hahaha! The hand of God! I love it! Even my mom never thought of that.
I hope Drita mollywops Karens fat ass at next week’s sit down!
Big Ang’s son creeps me out, I hope he’s not going to be on her show. 23? – he looks 43 to me.
Agreed feather head! I for one will be yelling at my tv for Drita to punch the shit out of Karen…or CSU.
I hate men who sacrifice their children for some poon. You’ve been away almost these children’s entire lives and you want to spend time with a girl. It just doesn’t make sense to me at all. Good for Carla for being strong.
I’m sorry Carla, but a chickee upsets you, but you were okay marrying and having kids with a criminal. Get real.
I hope Drita keeps her cool with Karen. This is filmed and actions speak louder than words if she wants to be a better role model to her children.
The girls got spanked and my brothers both took a tour of the kitchen cabinets more than once.
Mom gave up on wooden spoon when it broke on my younger brother and he laughed.
I have to say in Carla’s defense, she may not have known that Joe was a criminal when she married him. They met at work – at a white collar job. So, she may not have knowingly married a criminal the way Renee and Drita did. And by the time she found out it was too late – she was already married and had twins with him.
As for Drita as much as I would love to see Karen catch a beating, I am hoping that Drita is the bigger person. Mainly because it would really piss Karen off is she couldn’t push Drita’s buttons. She’d get flustered like she did with Carla and her arguments and aggression were just all over the place.
sigh…I guess you guys are right. Drita should be the mature one and talk it out with Karen. It won’t make me happy but I guess it’s for the best.
It would make me super happy to see Karen get her ass beat. The only thing is, I want Drita to come out the better person. And after that restaurant sit down between Carla and Karen, I think Karen would totally make an ass of herself if Drita stayed calm. She wouldn’t know what to do and would just start jumping from topic to topic in order to try to remain in charge of the argument while simultaneously making herself look like the ass that she is.
That would be more glorious than even an ass beating. Plus, I want Drita to succeed in the goal she set for herself to stop fighting.
Plath..you’re going to recap Chicago Mobwives? Awesome!
I found out that my great grandfather Cleaman worked in the Al Capone ?gang? for a bit. He got shot at and the guy he was with was killed so he quit that bitch.
That’s all I know. I never knew him or my grandfather.
I found out about it 2 months ago from my Gramdma’s brother’s son at a funeral.
That’s all.
Yeah Drita should talk to Karen. “What did the 5 fingers say to the face”
LOL, COUSINSUCKUP! HAHA-Exaccccttlly
Ughh Karen. That was just gross ! They spoke about their daughter for like 5 seconds & went straight to getting busy. I think Karen can’t find a man & she’s going to settle for David.
I loved the scene with the puppies, so cute ! As far as Joe he is a jerk & Carla is smart to not get involved with him again.
