Mob Wives Recap: The Finale

Speaking of spiritual cleanings, CousinSuckUp is meeting with a psychic. You see, now that Karen is considering acting like a big girl, and her boyfriend is in prison, and her jewelry is in Texas; CousinSuckUp is in need of a new story line. So, the psychic hands her one by saying that even though her boyfriend loves her, he wants her to feel free to pursue a relationship with someone on the outside. For good measure, the psychic also tells her that she should look into improving the relationship with her father. It’s all a total crock. CousinSuckUp is so worried about being dropped next season that she needs something, anything, to make her relevant. But honestly? Does anyone really care about what future story lines are in store for CousinSuckUp? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

no-story-lineI can’t believe she is going to make up with Drita and leave me with no story line.

Carla and Renee meet for dinner and talk about Joe. Carla tells Renee that Joe has a girlfriend and if his pattern is any indication, this is just the first in a long line. Renee, bless her heart, doesn’t understand why Carla isn’t willing to fight for her man. Really Renee? Maybe Carla doesn’t want to have wine/antidepressant induced breakdown on her kitchen floor while trying to figure out the best way to get a lying cheating rat to be faithful to her.

Anyway, we know that Renee is back to her old self as she tries to stir up a little drama. She wants to know how Carla is going to take it if Drita and Karen actually make up. Carla surprises Renee (but not the rest of us) by saying she is all for it. She wants to be able to be in the same room with both of them and not have to worry about dodging plates and hair pulls.

Drita goes to see her anger management counselor before sitting down with Karen. He hooks her up to a machine that is the equivalent of an emotional lie detector. As she starts talking about Karen and what she wants from the meeting, her anxiety level is off the charts. The counselor agrees with me that the reason Drita is so angry is because she really cares about Karen and the relationship they had. He also wants to know why Drita gives Karen so much power over her that she can get this upset just thinking about her.

anger-managementYou are obviously angry. Please don’t hulk out on me when I give you the bill.

So, Drita and Karen FINALLY sit down. The producers wisely sit them at opposite ends of a fairly long table. Drita says that she is there to move forward and not rehash the past. Karen isn’t having that and brings up Lee and how it wasn’t about him (yeah right). Then she brings up the physical fights they had. She has even brought a note from her doctor to prove that she didn’t go to the hospital after their first fight. Drita denies having ever started that rumor. She asks why she would brag about hurting a friend when she was so ashamed of her behavior that night. And, I know I’m TeamDrita and everything, but come on, she does come across a lot more sincerely than Karen – so I totally believe her.

the-sit-downThere will be no table flipping or jumping. And if you throw a wine bottle at me, we are done!

Karen decides that even though she doesn’t believe Drita, she will accept her explanation and move forward. Of course she will. She can’t risk CousinSuckUp being outed as a liar for telling her it was Drita who started it. Plus, she really needs to end the season with some good will considering how disliked she was after last season’s showing. They both call a truce saying that this is about being a good example for their daughters.

If there were ever a situation where in which I had to choose between cheese and chocolate, cheese would win hands down. I spend my days writing blog posts for the multi-housing industry and my nights harshly judging people who appear on reality shows. If there is the odd weekend in which I am not working, or feeling smugly satisfied about my lack of my own reality show, I will build a blog for my friends. Then, I will spend the rest of my weekend conning other friends, family members, and general acquaintances to donate their talents to help out. I am shameless in my love of free stuff, blue humor, and great or even terrible fiction. I tell my friends that I watch reality shows to feel better about myself. In actuality, I watch them because I am vastly entertained by the things people will do to be famous. When Flipit asked me to join the TVGasm family, I was honored. When he said that I would be paid in Cheetos and M&M's, I was totally in.

Plath, sorry you were sick and glad you are feeling better.

Funny, I am thinking Karen and Drita are where Christie and Joey Lynn (Brooklyn 11223) are going to be in 15-20 years. I think I understand why Karen is upset with Drita.

I think Drita did know how to get in touch with Karen and might have made, if anything, a weak attempt at letting Karen know about Lee and herself.
BUT! She did apologise for hurting Karen and let’s move the fuck on already.

I noticed that if you took all of the bleeped out words from all of the housewives shows and combined them that total would still pale in comparision to the bleeped out cussing on Mob Wives. Shoot maybe even fall short of one TH from Drita (not knocking it…I’m a cussah).

    Ramona is THIRSTY!!!!!!!!
AND once again she brought up her grandfather. I hope she gets knocked the fuck out.

    Glad you feel better Plath!

@labowner, I haven’t watched the whole season of Brooklyn 11223 (it got boring after the second episode for me and I just started watching other stuff) so, I’m not sure I understand.

@sheesh, Please dish. I know nothing about Karen and Drita’s history (I only know what I see on the show – and the Vh1 blog), but I LOVE internet gossip. So, if you know something that you are not sharing – SHARE!

It’s just my opinion really, but you can see the spin spin spin with Drita saying that she couldn’t get in contact with Karen.
Then she went on with “I don’t consider you a friend if I don’t see you everyday”.
I bdon’t think Drita is being completely honest.

I haven’t watched a bit of “Brooklyn 11223″ but I know enough because I read the recaps and that recapper actually made me care about these two girls, and the show.
Basically Drita will NEVAH cop to the fact that maybe her and Lee moved a little too quickly after Karen left town and that drives Karen insane.

You know when how a woman still feels ownership of a guy after they have broken up if she has been with him for a signifigant period of time before the breaku. Couple that with Karen’s sense of entitlement and anyone with half a brain should have known better than to try to get with Lee ever.
Drita was close friends with Karen, should understand Karen, and still got with him and had a beauty with him.

Ye,s yes, Karen was living in Arizona. Yes, she had a beauty with another man. Yes, she was with another man, but we’re talking about FEELINGS.
Let’s just say if the shoe was on the other foot Drita would be understandably hurt.

I don’t know. It seems like Karen did kind of just disappear. I mean her dad was in Witness Protection and I think it’s entirely possible that everyone assumed Karen was too. Karen even gave an interview stating that she wasn’t in witness protection because so many people kept assuming she was. If all of her friends in Staten Island assumed she had gone into protection wither dad, it would make sense that they wouldn’t know how to get in touch with her.

Also, Karen (even though she wasn’t in WP) pretty much uprooted and left without telling anyone where she was going. I think it’s unfair of her to expect Drita to play detective to find out where she was when she had already left Lee and she had already given birth to (or was pregnant with – Karen is very unclear about her timeline) another man’s child.

If it is true that Karen believed she and Drita were still very close friends when she left, why didn’t she ever reach out to Drita in all that time? If someone drops all contact with me and moves somewhere without telling me where they are going, I am going to assume they don’t consider me their friend anymore and keep it moving. I certainly wouldn’t assume that they were expecting me to try to track them down to tell them about marrying an ex-boyfriend. Drita said that she was pregnant with Aleeya when she and Lee got married. Karina is 2-3 years older than Aleeya. That’s a pretty big gap of time with them not having any contact with each other. If they had been living in the same town during that time, or even talking to each other on the phone a couple of times a year, I could see Karen being upset about Drita not telling her. But since they weren’t and everyone assumed Karen was in Witness Protection, it seems like Karen should have made a bit more of an effort to keep a friendship that she claims meant so much to her.

I also want to point out that whether or not Drita was in the wrong, she very sincerely apologized for hurting Karen. She didn’t pull any of that “I still think you are a liar, but I’m going to be the bigger person” crap that Karen pulled in this last episode. She saw that Karen was hurting and she apologized to her. So, I’m always going to assume that Drita is the more genuine person when it comes to the two of them.

Oh I am team Drita because she did very sincerely apologise.

Like I said though, Karen is the kind of person that since she was with Lee for so long none of her friends should have gone out with him ever in her eyes.
Drita knew this and she dated, married, and had a child with Lee. That’s not gonna fly with Karen and her mentality.

I do believe that Karen needs to build a bridge and get over it already, this is Karen though…the same person that brings a doctor’s note to a sitdown to prove that she didn’t go to the hospital after a fight.

I think Karen would have reacted the way she did even if she and Lee hadn’t been together for very long. She apparently cheated on him left and right so it was a matter of ownership with her. And, yes I agree that Drita would have known that about Karen. But, I still think that it is ridiculous of Karen to expect Drita to track her down when she pretty much had cut off all contact with her friends in Staten Island.

Drita was living with Karen. That is why Drita gets so upset, she knows she did a major wrong.

Maybe Karen didn’t call Drita because she didn’t want to involve Drita in her family shit. We know how the mob works, if there was even a hint that Drita knew Karen’s where abouts they would have gone after Drita.

My friends exes are off limits to me and most of the females I know feel the same way.
