Drita gets a call from CousinSuckUp explaining about the party and how she wants to sit down with her beforehand to clear the air and come to some sort of agreement. Drita is shocked because the last time she saw CousinSuckUp was at the reunion when she challenged her to fight after the filming was done. But, she agrees to meet for the sake of the kids, even though she doesn’t trust her.
Karen, meanwhile, tells us about her meeting with a financial planner in the same breath as saying that she is going to invest money in a music studio to bribe Karina into wanting to move to New York. How does a person talk about having visited a financial planner to plan for her daughter’s future go on to say that they are investing in a business that they know nothing about in order to give said daughter a vanity album? So much for financial stability. Also, Karen where is this spa that you opened with a plastic surgeon last season? How’s that going? I know, it was too much like an actual job for your liking, right?
So, now it’s time for the Drita/CousinSuckUp sit down. They discuss the brawl at Renee’s party. They both admit that they had been hearing a bunch of shit from other people (ahem, Jennifer!) and agree to go to each other for the truth from now on. Drita has no problem bringing Aleeya to the party as she loves her kids and is glad to see that CousinSuckUp is acting maternal. CousinSuckUp says something about animals and urchins and I tell her to shut the fuck up. But, they totally call a truce and Jennifer breathes a sigh of relief thinking that maybe, just maybe CousinSuckUp will now have enough fans to justify her salary.
Carla is skeptical, but like she has every season, she wishes Drita luck but warns her to be careful. See, that’s how friends work. You don’t turn on them because they are friends someone you don’t get along with, Karen!
But, Carla has her own share of manufactured drama going on. Let’s talk about Joe. OMG you guys this was so good. I watched this scene a few times because I was alternating between anger and hysterical laughter, that could have been the booze, but I think it’s just that Joe is such a tool that I couldn’t stay angry and had to laugh at him. Plus, Carla making with the funny.
So, Joe comes over and they sit down to talk. He tells Carla about the attorney and finalizing the divorce. Carla for the most part isn’t reacting the way he wants her to, namely she doesn’t fly into any kind of jealous rage. She does this awesome talking head about how Joe is getting older and probably wants to get married and have another kid before his balls start hanging low. It’s her deadpan deliver that completely nails it.
She tells Joe that at this point it should be a matter of just signing the papers. Joe wants us to see an angry woman so he says that their marriage was a business arrangement that didn’t work out. Carla aptly, but calmly tells him that’s really cold. He tries to start a fight in order to get her to admit that she is more volatile than he is. He even tries to use the Elvis the dog situation as an example. And, this is how I knew that he was talking out of his ass. Carla challenges him to discuss the Elvis situation and he backs down IMMEDIATELY. He won’t go there on camera. This is all supposition on my part, but I would bet you anything that Carla kept Elvis because she was the only person taking care of him.
