This episode is pretty much about recapping Carla and Renee’s showdown from last week. We get an exaggerated version of events from Renee, an apathetic version of events from Carla who is much more concerned about Joe’s new girlfriend having constant access to her kids, and a shit stirring session with Karen and CousinSuckUp joining in on the Carla bashing. It was about as exciting as it sounds. On the plus side, we see the adorableness that is Drita’s girls, a botox party courtesy of Big Ang(Yay!), and more crazy from Renee.
So, lets dive into these bitch infested waters, shall we?
Karen and CousinSuckUp head over to Renee’s house to get the dirt on the fight. Renee tells them that Carla deflected all of her insults and called her a junky. CousinSuckUp asks where they left things and Renee starts going on and on about Carla gesturing with the butter knife. You guys, I watched that scene a few times and not once did I get the sense that Carla was threatening Renee. I pretty much thought she picked up the knife because she was eating and then started gesturing with it to emphasize her point. It’s like the Richards Sisters and their finger pointing, it’s rude and aggressive but not really threatening. But, this has suddenly become a thing and Renee feels she is now justified in trashing Carla. Karen and CousinSuckUp don’t like Carla anyway because they couldn’t get her to dump Drita last season. So, they talk their own trash while also suggesting that Drita and Ang should have defended Renee. Karen further pisses me off by saying some shit about how back in the day the would have thrown Carla in the trunk of a car and threatened her family. Really, Karen? Glad to see you keeping it classy as always.
It was during this conversation that I stopped and asked myself, “What the hell are these bitches talking about?” Granted Karen and CousinSuckUp weren’t there so they wouldn’t know that Renee went right in on the attack and that Carla defended and stood up for herself. But, since they weren’t there why would they assume that that Drita and Ang just let Carla attack Renee without provocation? And why would they jump in to defend anyone since they were only supposed to mediate the conversation? Karen ends this ridiculous conversation by saying that Carla certainly has a pair of balls.
Carla, completely unconcerned with Renee’s crazy and Karen’s tough talk, interviews her kids about dad’s new girlfriend. I find this type of thing a bit distasteful. I get that she needs to know how her kids are interacting with this woman, but it seemed too much like she was fishing for dirt rather than simply talking to her kids about the time they spent with their dad. From the sounds of it, their dad just let the girlfriend take care of the kids so he wouldn’t have to.
