Mrs. Eastwood and Company Recap: Defensive Shields

Last week Dina turned Fran’s room into an art studio which caused Fran to have a panic attack at being kicked out of her house even though she has an apartment of her own. Dominic threatens Morgan with never seeing his kid again because she has been disrespecting Dina. This week we open with Dina returning a phone call to Johnny Wright regarding representation of Overtone. He invites the group down to his compound in Florida. Dina is so excited that she jumps up and down and makes Morgan and Lisa dance with her. Morgan is too cool for school so she walks off with Lisa calling her a party poop. Dina says that she will no longer have a job and a lot of free time and Lisa adds that now she can take care of the house.

News Lady gonna do her own laundry!

Fran and Tyler go play hipster tennis at night with some of their friends while discussing an upcoming trip to Jacksonville to meet his parents. Fran wants them in Tyler’s life in the event that they have kids and get married.Tyler tries to explain that his mom is a crackhead and always leaving him wacked out messages about how Hollywood he is now and to enjoy  his fucking self. Meanwhile, Dina arrives in Florida with Overtone and they meet Johnny who explains that he wants them to perform a showcase for his team the next day with choreography. Overtone gets right to work at practicing moves and already you can tell it will be a trainwreck because white boys have no rhythm. Emile of course brings up the Maui trip and how he basically is worried that Ed will fuck things up with his feelings.

Sniff it…SNIFF IT!

Fran and Ty arrive in Jacksonville to meet Jerry and Martha, Ty’s parents and partial reason for why he is so mentally insane. Seriously, his mom looks like she may or may not do meth but since we don’t know anything about his parents it is just speculation. Ty’s dad was abusive before he had a stroke that paralyzed his right side which made him chill out. He is now a gold medalist paraolympic athlete in archery. Fran can’t believe that Ty had been so distance from his parents because they seem to be loving and sweet. Um they JUST met you honey…just wait until later when his mom offers you drugs after dinner and his dad gropes you under the table. Later at the hotel, Fran is imitating a cat for some reason and then decides to ask Ty to be patient with his parents. Fran was raised in a loving home so her view is skewed because she thinks all families are supposed to be happy and loving so she wants to fix Tyler’s family. Tyler, having lived the situation his whole life, tries to tell her in a nice way that Rome wasn’t built in a day and there is a lot of background she has no idea about. I guess that psychology class Fran took for half a semester really made her believe she could solve anyone’s troubles. The next day they meet with Wendy, Tyler’s Aunt and Martha’s sister, who reiterates that the relationship isn’t as it seems and that Fran has no idea what the family history is. Apparently Tyler was abused as a kid and his mom denies it even though his dad has acknowledged it and apologized since his stroke. Wendy cautions trying to fix the problem because even though Martha is her sister she knows that she is on the good shit so her brain is a little wonky.

Not to old to be managing boy bands.

At the showcase, Overtone does some terrible choreography and for the first time we hear why Tino never sang before. He is pretty terrible and should have stayed in the background like the red head who never says anything. Seriously, is he mute and faking voices because he never talks or gives any input into the band. Even Shane is starting to creep into the spotlight with his Hobbit looking ass. Johnny’s team doesn’t say a word after the show case which scares Shane and Emile as they sit with poker faces. Eventually Johnny reiterates the terrible choreo and that they aren’t where they would introduce them to the world yet but they did what was asked with no complaining and that is what they look for. They want to work with Overtone and everyone is thrilled. Dina says the new team will take over and push them into the world while she will be a den mom back in Carmel for them. I think its for the best as Dina didn’t really have what they needed to get them out into the world as artists though she had great intentions. Later they find Ed outside journaling the experience saying he wants to be able to remember it later as a great moment. Emile reiterates that all the bad they have gone through has helped them get to the point they are today and that they can really support one another now. The guys sing for Dina and hopefully this is the last that we have to hear from them and their boring storyline. Once you hit 25 you should stop trying to be a boy band…I mean really that’s not even what is popular in music right now anyway.

What is my purpose in this band?

Great recap, SG! My favorite – “Oh Fran…you just need to taste new dick to understand that you are sucking on a lemon.” ROTFLMAO! :-)

Seeing Fran act the way she does makes me weep for the future of other girls who choose to stay with asstards like Tyler.
