Mrs. Eastwood and Company Recap: Don’t Call Me Baby

Fran walks in and Dina is excited to show her the art room she created. Fran tells her she is so tired and just wants to lay down and nap because college part-time and partying full time is a very hard job. Dina breaks the news that she has converted her room into an art studio and Fran looks pissed. They go to look at the damage and Fran explains that her room had not been touched since 7th grade and that she didn’t think Dina would actually go through with making an art studio. Maybe you shouldn’t have told her yes when she asked you then. Fran goes to Morgan’s room to bitch and says that she feels as though she is getting kicked out of her home. Fran explains that she moved between her mom and dad growing up and that her mom no longer lives in the same home so her dad’s home is the only tangible part of her childhood left. She doesn’t want to be seen as a baby by Dina because she has asked to be respected as an INDEPENDENT adult. So instead of talking to Dina she bitches to her 16 year old half sister whose room she then takes over. I have to imagine that Clint has a pretty huge house so why doesn’t Dina convert another room into either Fran’s new bedroom or an art studio? There has to be more than 3 bedrooms in that place.

Crocodile Tears.

Overtone comes over to discuss possibly changing their name since no one can say it without adding an “s” to the end. Dina throws out some names like Reckers and Wrappers which Shane says would work because they can then do condom ads. Morgan calls fail on all of Dina’s ideas because they are in fact fail but Dina says it’s just because Morgan always has to disagree with her. Later, Dina is in the car with Morgan discussing Morgan’s schoolwork and grades. She says that she wants to make part of the art room a study so that Morgan can focus on her homework in a quiet place instead of in her bedroom which should be a place for her to relax. Morgan deflects the conversation from to how Fran really feels about her room being made into an art room. Dina starts feeling like shit because she didn’t realize that Fran really felt that way even though she gave her blessing. Dina later confronts Fran about how she really feels and Fran starts crying about how much she wants her room that she doesn’t even live in. She doesn’t feel as though her apartment is home yet and she didn’t want to come off as a baby by telling Dina how she really felt. Fran says she feels like she is getting kicked out (even though she moved out on her own accord). Dina explains that now that she has moved out and Morgan is older she wants to make the house up to her standards and didn’t mean to disregard her feelings. Dina tells her how sorry she is and that she can have the room back as long as she lets Dina occasionally paint in there. Dina says that it is more important that Fran feel at home than her having a studio since she is a wannabe artist.

But MOOOOM…I do what I want, I’m grown!

Dom is sitting at the restaurant table waiting on Morgan and Dina to arrive while Tyler and Fran make out disgustingly in front of him. Like PDA is one thing but they might as well have been fucking on that table and I feel so bad for Dom and the rest of the people around them trying to eat. You can even see the Asian girl at the table behind them feeling second hand embarrassment and throwing shade. Dina tries to tell Morgan where to sit and then they get into an argument over Tyler shooting pictures for Overtone. Morgan’s argument is that Tyler doesn’t normally shoot people like Overtone, he shoots z-list celebrities and shitty bands doing controversial things as well as destroying ridiculously expensive objects for web hits. Tyler is able to have a normalish conversation with Morgan regarding her feelings while Dom and Dina get the cold shoulder because they tease her and treat her like the child that she is. Eventually Dom has enough of Morgan being a teenager and tells her that if she doesn’t start to respect Dina she will never be able to see his son again. Wow you would think that Morgan does drugs or something to get that type of threat. Calm down Dom, that’s how kids are these days and she really wasn’t even that bad. It’s not like she punched her mom in the face at the dinner table.
