Mrs. Eastwood and Company Recap: Hawaii is for Exposing

So I’m kind of obsessed with watching Mrs. Eastwood and Company. I want Dina to adopt me so I can play Dirty Harry with Clint all day. This week I’m recapping two episodes since we got bumped with a “to be continued” last week. It only made sense to lump them together. In case you didn’t know though…Dina has been married to Clint for 16 years and they have one daughter, Morgan. Dina manages a band from South Africa called Overtone with her brother Dominic. Francesca is Clint’s daughter from a previous relationship with Frances Fisher (the chick from Titanic) and her boyfriend is Tyler Shields, a pretentions and “edgy” photographer.

Don’t want your daughter to get a fishing lure…get one yourself!

Previously, Dina persuades Morgan not to get a belly button ring by getting one herself along with her housekeeper Lisa, who got her nose pierced. Ed struggles with coming out as a gay man so he seeks support from his band mates but Emile is hesitant. When Fran hears about it she takes it as Emile not supporting Ed so she and Dominic decide to put bologna and mustard all over his car. Emile calls to let Dina know his car was vandalized and she realizes that Fran and Dom did it and makes them apologize.

Who knew Dina was skilled in peeping into windows?

Morgan wants to have a 16th birthday party in a hotel alone with her friends and Dina struggles to let her have some freedom. I think she struggles because what normal parent would allow their child to have free reign in a hotel room with their rooms? She eventually allows it but at the hotel she will already be at because she will be attending Overtone member Tino’s wedding. The girls don’t do anything out of line and seem to be fairly innocent in today’s standards but Dina can’t help but freak out so she sneaks to the room and tries to look in the window. Not creepy at all. Morgan gets upset but later understands that her mom just loves her and wants the best for her.

“Of course I wouldn’t push you off the bridge…my camera would get wet”

Fran and Tyler head to London for Tyler’s gallery opening but encounter some bumps in their relationship when Tyler oversteps his boundaries during a photo shoot. He has Fran stand upon a bridge in high heels which ends up freaking her out. As she walks away and cries in the car, he doesn’t console her but continues snapping away. He later apologizes and says he only pushes her because he knows she is capable of more. Then we get to Birkin Gate 2012 when alledgely Tyler gets Fran to chainsaw and burn a $100,000 Birkin bag for the sake of art. I don’t think it was a real bag because I don’t think Tyler could afford a real bag let alone know someone who was in possession of one. He just likes attention as much as his girlfriend so they do stupid shit to get it along with more publicity for his photos. Dina struggles with letting clutter go because as a young girl she didn’t grow up having much but with help from Fran, Lisa and Morgan she is able to let some things go. Now that we are all caught up, let’s get to the Maui Mayhem!

I’m so edgy! Ohhhh ARTSY!

Lisa is coloring Dina’s grey hair in the kitchen and Dina is freaking out about having a black line across her forehead from the dye. She wonders what gets dye out and I remember when I went through a goth phase and dyed my hair black, hand sanitizer. Seriously. Everyone is heading to Maui to celebrate spring break and everyone includes Overtone (they have a concert) and four of Morgan’s friends (for spring break). Fran wants to bring Tyler but does she really have a choice of going without him considering she is shoved so far up his ass that they operate as one living organism? Tyler has hesitation because his family used to vacation together until his father became handicapped but Franny sees this as a good time for him to bond with her family since they all know and realize he is a bad influence on her. Dina, Morgan and friends head to Hawaii and sing and dance in the car on the way to the Maui home.

Worst storyline ever.

Overtone is heading up to Maui later but they have some drama to get out of the way first. It seems that there may be a relationship forming between Eddie and Riaan but the other guys do not know how to broach the subject with them without being uncomfortable. They call the boys to come to the house to have a meeting but don’t tell them it is about their relationship. They ask the guys if there is something going on with them which they deny and then they ask Riaan if he is gay which he refuses to answer. He does say that there was something between the two of them but not anymore which actually answers whether he is gay or not. The rest of the members who are clearly uncomfortable with this knowledge tell them that they can’t be together because it could affect the band. What they don’t know is that they already were for over a year and that Ed is in love with Riaan. I don’t get what the big deal is if they were already undercover banging for a year and it didn’t create a problem.

Not confrontational at all…

Fran and Tyler are on their way to Maui with Dominic when Tyler starts playing around in the airport and acting like he is a chiropractor. He straightens Dom’s back and offers to help a lady standing nearby who looks creeped out by him. The band has also made their way to Maui and then RoomGate happens. The band gets two large suits and a smaller room with two beds. Emile wants a suite for him and his girlfriend (whose a big C and shouldn’t have even come along on Dina’s dime) and Dom wants a suite for him and his new wife (also shouldn’t be there on Dina’s dime). Ed and Riaan are pissed because they think the others do not treat them equally since they are gay and not in an exclusive relationship like the others. I think this could have been solved by NOT inviting the girlfriends/wives/groupies since you are there to perform, not relax and sightsee.

Get a tan…please.

Holy crap! I hadn’t even heard of this, but this sounds funny as hell! I’m so going to try it out. Of course, like many other shows, the hilarity might just be the recap. Great job and thanks for introducing me too this. ;)

I think it was a little late for Dina to decide he couldn’t stay in the house; that should have been decided before anyone got on a plane. Tyler’s a wanker, tho, so she’s perfectly right in making him stay elsewhere with the younger girls there. Creepo is my pet name for him.

This show was something I promised myself I wouldn’t watch but an afternoon of folding laundry in a room without air conditioning during a heat wave with four children under the age of 7 can make a woman do strange things. I worked in Salinas (the armpit of the magnificent Monterey Peninsula where Pebble Beach is located) around the same time Clint and Dina got together; the combo always fascinated me. It’s kind of fun to see her – she comes across as a real dynamo who could hold her own with Dirty Harry.

Franny is in luuuuuuuuurve. I give her props, however, for standing up to Tyler and not buying into his crap after Dina pushed back. She reminds me a bit of Marilyn Monroe … airhead-y but with a few working brain cells lurking in the nether regions of the frontal lobe.

I am under the impression that Tyler pushed to stay once he got to the house even though he had booked a room at the hotel with Dom. I never had the intention of watching the show either but they replay the shit out of it so it was bound to happen. I didn’t want to like Hammy but I totes do!

I am so happy that someone is recapping this show! I too had no intentions of watching this show but totally got suckered in. I pretty much love it! Tyler is pretty insane and totally drives me crazy though.

Tyler is creepy. I know it has been said before, but that is the perfect word for him that is of a PG rating. I know Hollywood kids grow up fast and are considered older than their actual age, but Tyler is 30 and Franny is only 18. That is a huge difference, especially considering how young Franny is. She can’t even legally drink yet.

I will admit, I did google Tyler after watching a couple of episodes (damn you vacation house with DVR). Some of his stories are actually true, but with a lot of fluff added. Also, he does take some great photos, but they are the type that if you had the money to buy really nice equipment, you could also take.

As wrong as Tyler was with the whole bloody nose thing, Dina needed to control her self a little bit. Her attitude after while still with the girls was scary, she was borderline hulk. I am not saying she was out of line, it was just not appropriate to be acting and saying those things around the girls. She should have taken Dom into another room to vent to him.

I got sucked in as well. Dina really surprised me, I figured I’d been seeing a mansion with a materialistic shrew, but OMG, they live in a normal house and she is the total opposite of materialistic!! I really like Dina and the housekeeper (I forget her name). I love all the animals, the kids and her brother Dom. It almost seems that Clint doesn’t even live there…

Tyler needs an ass-kicking pronto!! I’m so glad that Dina sees right threw him, if only Frannie did as well. Where’s Dirty Harry when you need him????

    A mom who isn’t a total famewhore/lush? A house that isn’t a Gawd-awful McMansion?
Yep, it’s official. Hell has frozen over.

@SG Same with me. It seems like E! is playing this show at all hours of the day.

Anyway, Dina is a bit uptight and it’s difficult to agree with her methods all of the time but given the people she has to deal with, I think she does the best she can. Both of her daughters are pretty bratty and based on the show, not very smart. It seems like Dina doesn’t like confronting them and does her best to be a friendly, sensitive parent and then has complete meltdowns when she can’t repress everything she’s bottled up any longer.

Tyler is an idiot and an ass. I think he’s definitely playing up a character for the cameras but he’s also a regular annoying jerk in person.

And yeah, Fran needs to stop walking around in towels. No one wants to see that.
