Mrs. Eastwood and Company Recap: Hawaii is for Exposing

Dina takes Morgan and her friends along with Tyler and Franny to dinner and Tyler is still on his obnoxious wave. At the table he asks the girls if they know any good cliffs to jump off of and that he wants to go spear shooting at 6 am. Dina interviews that she doesn’t want to have red flags since Fran is so in love but she has them. He then proposes a contest to see who can hold their breath for the longest and then times everyone as he ends up holding it for 4 minutes. He then tells them that he set a record for not sleeping for 40 days, broke his knee in Switzerland because he was a world champion skater and that he is a ninja. Did Tyler not get enough hugs as a kid or something because he is worse than a Kardashian when it comes to wanting attention. Dina, like the rest of us, knows that his stories are fabricated. Tyler and Fran leave and get a tent that Tyler sets up next to a huge spotlight where the kayaks are stored. Franny suggests they get married so he can stay in the house and that’s when I remember she’s a child under the spell of an adult.

No those red flags are justified.

Overtone is working out in the fitness center when Emile confronts Ed who is clearly unhappy. He feels isolated and offended that the rest of the band is telling him who he can date and Emile says that with two guys dating in the band, it could break the band up. Emile finally says that Ed always acts like he gets the short end of the stick (pun intended?) and when things do not go his way he plays victim and that the others feel the same way. Riaan doesn’t want to get bitched at so he stays quiet and Ed walks out saying he can’t trust anyone and needs an escape. He and Riaan talk on the balcony where he confesses in an interview that he is in love with him and it is a deal breaker that he can’t be with him. I wonder if Riaan feels the same way because he doesn’t support or comfort him but just says he wants to be friends. Isn’t that a sign that maybe he doesn’t feel the same?

Over this shit.

Everyone (except Ed) is over at the house and Tyler is running around with a machete and Fran is naked again. Some of the girls decide to go down the slide into the pool together. This ends up with Middle Girl Maddi hitting her nose on the back of the girl in front of her. Everyone is freaking out at all the blood flowing out when Tyler decides that her nose is broken and he knows this because he has broken his own 17 times. He explains that he broke his nose in the exact same way (sliding into a pool sandwiched between two 15 year old girls?) and that he lost his sense of smell which never came back. He places her head back and tries to “fix” it as Dina is yelling at him that it is not broken and that he is not a doctor. He tells her to back off and that he fixed the nose but Dina is pissed and tells him not to tell her to back up in her own home and that he is not a doctor. She is cursing and yelling and Tyler ends up walking off pissed as well. Dina states that obvious that Tyler is a raging pathological psychopathic liar.

Always a good idea.

Dina says that boundaries have been crossed and she is pissed. Franny doesn’t want to get stuck in the middle so she tries to get Tyler away by driving him to the hotel and away from Dina. Fran and Tyler are about to leave when Dom comes over and Tyler tells him his side of the story. He also tells Fran that he won’t talk to Dina at the house because it’s her world but they can talk on a nonpartisan island and he won’t be going to the Overtone concert either. Dom goes into the house to speak with Dina who tells him that Tyler disrespected her and that all Maddi had was a bloody nose. He misinterpreted her deviated septum as being broken and freaked her out. Dina says that he is a creative genius (she must be stretching for some niceness with that one) but she doesn’t buy his stories and then she gets more upset at how this will affect her relationship with Francesca. She thinks that since she is so stuck up his ass she will side with him and be out of Dina’s life since Dina does not want to be around Tyler. Tyler is at the hotel telling Fran how much of a hypocrite Dina is but she basically ignores him and checks her iphone for Instagram updates. She sees both sides of the argument but she doesn’t want to get pulled in the middle.

Seriously, who wears all black in Hawaii?

Holy crap! I hadn’t even heard of this, but this sounds funny as hell! I’m so going to try it out. Of course, like many other shows, the hilarity might just be the recap. Great job and thanks for introducing me too this. ;)

I think it was a little late for Dina to decide he couldn’t stay in the house; that should have been decided before anyone got on a plane. Tyler’s a wanker, tho, so she’s perfectly right in making him stay elsewhere with the younger girls there. Creepo is my pet name for him.

This show was something I promised myself I wouldn’t watch but an afternoon of folding laundry in a room without air conditioning during a heat wave with four children under the age of 7 can make a woman do strange things. I worked in Salinas (the armpit of the magnificent Monterey Peninsula where Pebble Beach is located) around the same time Clint and Dina got together; the combo always fascinated me. It’s kind of fun to see her – she comes across as a real dynamo who could hold her own with Dirty Harry.

Franny is in luuuuuuuuurve. I give her props, however, for standing up to Tyler and not buying into his crap after Dina pushed back. She reminds me a bit of Marilyn Monroe … airhead-y but with a few working brain cells lurking in the nether regions of the frontal lobe.

I am under the impression that Tyler pushed to stay once he got to the house even though he had booked a room at the hotel with Dom. I never had the intention of watching the show either but they replay the shit out of it so it was bound to happen. I didn’t want to like Hammy but I totes do!

I am so happy that someone is recapping this show! I too had no intentions of watching this show but totally got suckered in. I pretty much love it! Tyler is pretty insane and totally drives me crazy though.

Tyler is creepy. I know it has been said before, but that is the perfect word for him that is of a PG rating. I know Hollywood kids grow up fast and are considered older than their actual age, but Tyler is 30 and Franny is only 18. That is a huge difference, especially considering how young Franny is. She can’t even legally drink yet.

I will admit, I did google Tyler after watching a couple of episodes (damn you vacation house with DVR). Some of his stories are actually true, but with a lot of fluff added. Also, he does take some great photos, but they are the type that if you had the money to buy really nice equipment, you could also take.

As wrong as Tyler was with the whole bloody nose thing, Dina needed to control her self a little bit. Her attitude after while still with the girls was scary, she was borderline hulk. I am not saying she was out of line, it was just not appropriate to be acting and saying those things around the girls. She should have taken Dom into another room to vent to him.

I got sucked in as well. Dina really surprised me, I figured I’d been seeing a mansion with a materialistic shrew, but OMG, they live in a normal house and she is the total opposite of materialistic!! I really like Dina and the housekeeper (I forget her name). I love all the animals, the kids and her brother Dom. It almost seems that Clint doesn’t even live there…

Tyler needs an ass-kicking pronto!! I’m so glad that Dina sees right threw him, if only Frannie did as well. Where’s Dirty Harry when you need him????

    A mom who isn’t a total famewhore/lush? A house that isn’t a Gawd-awful McMansion?
Yep, it’s official. Hell has frozen over.

@SG Same with me. It seems like E! is playing this show at all hours of the day.

Anyway, Dina is a bit uptight and it’s difficult to agree with her methods all of the time but given the people she has to deal with, I think she does the best she can. Both of her daughters are pretty bratty and based on the show, not very smart. It seems like Dina doesn’t like confronting them and does her best to be a friendly, sensitive parent and then has complete meltdowns when she can’t repress everything she’s bottled up any longer.

Tyler is an idiot and an ass. I think he’s definitely playing up a character for the cameras but he’s also a regular annoying jerk in person.

And yeah, Fran needs to stop walking around in towels. No one wants to see that.
