Mrs. Eastwood and Company Recap: Splash of Freedom

Hey Gasmii, I apologize for the lateness of this recap but I may or may not have forgotten about this show…It happens! It’s our season finale and I’m kind of sad even though the show dragged at times. Last week, Morgan was completely mortified when Dina talked to some boys that attend the same school as her. Fran and Tyler were debating about marriage and yellow towels and Lisa was shaking her head wondering how she got sucked into all this madness.

This week opens with Lisa and Dina cooking in the kitchen when Lisa announces that she wishes she had a ding dang sometimes because life is easier. She says that ding dangers just go to work all day to collect a paycheck and then get to go home and relax while women who work outside of the home just return home to another job of cooking and cleaning. Lisa also says that a fake ding dang doesn’t work as well as a real ding dang given to you by God. Fran and Morgan are talking with Tyler about his Mouthful Gallery opening in Los Angeles when Fran decides it would be a good idea to have Ty shoot Morgan. They go to speak to Dina about it who has reservations especially since Fran promises that it won’t be pornographic or dangerous like his other photoshoots….you know like the kind of pictures that she takes for him. I wonder how Dina feels knowing that Ty has nudes of Franny. To smooth the situation, Fran tells Dina that Ty just shot a 14 year old that was in the Hunger Games and to check it out on his website. When Dina visits the site, she immediately spots a nude girl bound on the beach and lays down the law for Morgan’s shoot. It can only be in front of a white wall background since there have never been any nude pictures in front of white walls.

Watch out Morgan, I hear he likes watersports.

Morgan and Fran head out to LA to Tyler’s house where a bunch of hooligans are hanging around doing nothing. Tyler explains that people are always there despite being banned or blacklisted or placed on the sexual predator list. He starts spitting out various ideas such as stopping traffic on the freeway and having Morgan stand in the traffic lane (um…even if you have never been to LA, you have a television and you know the freeway is always a parking lot of busy). He also wants to drag her behind a car which she doesn’t agree with but she does agree to wearing clothes in a pool…a long white dress to be exact. At the hotel pool, Ty pushes Morgan in and then she seductively looks at the camera in her white soaking wet dress. I don’t know why they thought this would be PG but okay. Dina finds out the next day when Fran tells her like a dumbass on the phone about the photo shoot. Of course Dina freaks out and immediately tells them to pull the photo from the gallery showing and that being in water was her first example of what Morgan could not do.

Maybe your face is why Dina is scared of you.

Fran and Morgan arrive at the gallery where Ty and his minions are setting up to deliver the bad news that Dina wants Morgan’s picture pulled. This throws a wrench into Ty’s plans but he obliges out of respect but notes that Dina is likely only doing it because she has a problem with Tyler, not the picture she hasn’t even seen. Later at the opening of the gallery, Dina is no where to be seen and Tyler decides to take the picture to her and confront her about her opinion of him. When Ty arrives to confront Dina, she is taken back and voiceovers that she doesn’t want any more drama with him. Tyler explains that he never had a family and is used to confrontation and fighting. Um, you had a family and we met them two episodes away. The issue is that your parents did a lot of drugs and didn’t raise you properly but for some reason you never got over it and matured. Dina says that she doesn’t know why she is scared of Tyler (because he is insane and creepy?) but will make an honest effort to trust in him since he is Fran’s first real love (likely not the last). They make up and Dina views the picture and thinks it is amazing except for Morgan’s cleavage which she wants airbrushed out. Dina, Morgan and Fran all make up and cheek each other and the series ends with no drama to carry over into season 2…if there is one.

Oh…Overtone. I always forget about them because they aren’t memorable. Johnny wants them to move to LA to be closer to the hustle and bustle so they throw one last concert for free to thank the residents of Carmel who had no idea who they were anyway. They reveal this to a sad but understanding Dina who is proud of them. Tino also reveals that his wife is preggo with a little Tino and Dina couldn’t be any prouder of everything the boys have gone through with her and overcome. Now that this season is over, what did you guys think of Mrs. Eastwood and Company and do you want a second season? Do you think next year we will deal with a pregnant Franny running around in a purple towel? Or maybe Morgan will audition for 16 & pregnant? Should Lisa get her own spin-off?
