About

Vallegirl has never actually lived in a valley, has a lot of time on her hands and likes to yell at kids about how things were in her day.  Currently in LA, she's also spent a lot of time in the great states of  New York and Florida so she's not crazy, it's just a cultural thing.

Oh, Vallegirl, you make me so glad that I don’t have HBO and can’t watch this show. Your recaps are soooo much better than this show deserves.

Our studio went black twice last week due to intermittent citywide power outages. It fired right back up within 30 seconds. Ten bucks says this is a reality TV-grade cliffhanger because Sorkin forgot how to create real drama.

If we had been planning our show on this day, we probably would have made room for Weiner and/or Anthony, since they were big stories, as much as it kills me to admit it; one of our generalist commentators could have riffed on both for a few minutes. But that would be at the END of the show. And we would make damn sure to include something about the debt ceiling — hell, we’d probably lead with it. Weren’t these dunderheads supposed to recreate News Night with principles and morals and shit? Isn’t informing viewers about actual important news part of that?

Wow. Lot’s of Sorkin hate in these recaps. I almost didn’t watch the show because of an earlier recap, but I have watched it, and I enjoy it immensely. Maybe because I enjoy historical fiction and understand dramatic license. It’s not a documentary, it’s drama. Not to compare Sorkin with Shakespeare, but Shakespeare’s characters of Richard III and Macbeth are more dramatic than factual. Matt LeBlanc playing Matt LeBlanc on Episodes is not the real Matt LeBlanc! Wow, what a concept!

vallegirl, I apologize. Rereading my comment I do come off as a pompous ass. I do enjoy the show, so, we can just agree to disagree. Peace.

Deb J, I just want to say that I completely agree with everything you said, including the apologizing for coming off like a pompous ass, but I felt your frustration so I understand why you went there.
