This episode revolves around the much anticipated arrival of Captain “I’m so hot I wear guyliner” Hook. Here’s the thing: Captain Hook is hot as hell, but if I can’t find a picture of him in his underwear on the internet he’s still not a good enough replacement for Sheriff McHottiePants.
That said, cold showers may be making a return appearance in the PottyMouth household.
Before we get to the episode, I have to say again how much I am loving all the different theories you Gasmi come up with. I also love how into the show you all are because I am too. And even though last week’s comments left me feeling a wee bit OLD, I still enjoyed the favorite princess discussion. For the record, mine is Belle. Yeah, brunette, reader, loves her crazy dad; what’s not to love?
So thanks again to you all both for reading and/or commenting. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me every time I get an e-mail notification telling me about a comment!
Let’s get to the show, shall we? We start out the evening with Belle and Rumpy in his shop where he is presenting her with a beautiful diamond necklace. She wonders what the occasion is. It’s them, he tells her. They haven’t gotten out much since the reawakening of Storybrooke, so tonight he’s taking her out on the town.
Awwww….I wonder if they’ll jet off to the opera as well. Is there an opera house in Storybrooke?
Leave it to Grumpy to spoil the mood. He shows up demanding his pickaxe back from Rumpy and wondering how the hell Belle can be with such an asshole. Rumpy takes offense to this and starts to strangle Grumpy with Belle begging him to stop, saying this isn’t him. Not anymore.
He turns around and he’s got his glittery Dark One skin as he tells her it IS him. “Always was, always will be!” And then…
Yikes! Whatta dream. Belle goes searching for Rumpy and spies him in the basement, spinning straw into gold and using it to power magic potions. So much for turning over a new leaf!
Fairyland Flashback. A pre Dark One Rumpy returns from a hard day of cowering to find that his wife is out on the town. So off he goes in search of her (with a younger Bae in tow) and lo and behold; she’s out drinking with the boys.
Rumpy begs her to come home with him, but she’s having none of that. She needs a break, she tells him. It’s hard work being lashed to the coward of the village. It’s only an appearance by Bae that gets her moving and out of the tavern.
