While this is going down, Snow and Charming are hanging out at Granny’s and looking at house listings.  Charming tells Snow the most recent one she’s found has a yard that’s too small.  Seems like he’s been finding faults with every house she’s suggested, and then the truth comes out: he wants to go back.

Prince Charming say WHAT????

Snow doesn’t want to go back: she just GOT BACK!  Besides, what with Cora in power, everything over in FairyLand is mighty fucked up right about now.  But that’s the point, Charming tells her, they have to go back and fight to make things better!  Fuck that.  Snow is sick of fighting!

Every time I get a manicure we go to war!  Can’t I have pretty nails for more than an hour??!?!?

David thinks it’s worth it, to fight for what they really want.  Unless they don’t want the same thing, Snow says. 

Over at Snow’s place, Henry is drawing a blueprint of his apartment renovation ideas for when Snow and charming move out.  He wants to turn the bedroom into an armory.

Damn.  I thought I was fucked up

She tells him that Regina is not going to hurt them, but Henry’s not so easily convinced now that she’s killed Archie.  He doesn’t feel safe. 

They don’t have time to get into further discussion right now because there is a knock on the door.

Stop yer crying!  I’m alive!

Archie gives them the quick and dirty that it was Cora, not Regina, and he was kidnapped, not murdered.  So Emma and Henry realize that they were wrong about Regina after all and Henry thinks that they have to find her and tell her.

Shit.  I’ll never live this one down.

Yeah, I don’t think Regina is just going to let this one go.

Rumpy and Belle drive to the town line.  He tells her that Bae’s shawl would be lost if it wasn’t for her; hell, HE would be lost if it wasn’t for her.  After everything she’s learned about him and everything he’s done, why hasn’t she given up on him?

“I learned a long time ago that when you find something that’s worth fighting for, you never give up.”

Speaking of that time, Belle leads Phillip to Mulan’s waiting spot.  Mulan is happy to see Belle alive.  Belle clues Mulan in on the curse that turned Philip into the Yaoguai.

And Mulan feels her ladyparts start to smolder.

    I just watched this last night and OH MY GOD I AM SO MAD. Not mad cause it was bad, but intense character feelings.

    Poor Belle! She’s my favorite! Though her accent is odd at times. *sigh* I knew something bad was going to happen when she was standing so close to the town line. Plus, they had to keep Rumpy in Storybrooke somehow. Hook is officially on my shit list. Belle saved your life back on that boat and you go and shoot her and take everything about her.

    This must be how they get Rumpy to turn dark again, without Belle to help him do good. Poor Belle…

    I really needed to get that out, I’m going to read the awesomeness now and be back with more commenting!

    If Rumpy can make a memory retention spell is it possible he’ll stay in Storybrooke and make a memory regaining spell? After all, he is the most powerful magic in any realm, even Cora wont face him. It didn’t matter when it was just Sneezy (sorry sneezy!) but with Belle!?

    Archie’s funeral killed me. I was all allergies especially with Marco. Speaking of Marco why has Emma not mentioned she knows his son is around here somewhere and why hasn’t she wondered where August is hiding?

    I’m really happy that Rumpy’s most treasured object wasn’t his Dark One Dagger™ and that it was something of Bae’s. Though it looked like Belle was secretly hoping it was something of hers. How can he leave her though? She’s his love and all, going to leave her trapped in Storybrooke with Regina. He probably thinks it’s safer for her with Snow and Charming as her friends but oh is he ever wrong….

    Speaking of Nova writers, WHY HASNT SHE FOUND GRUMPY YET? Please and thank you.

    Mulan is always such a bitch at first. I realize she had to do the whole “Im just as good as a man thing” but dissing Belle who offered to help was rude. At least she learned from her mistakes later.

    How did Smee know where Rumpy’s safe was and get into Rumpy’s safe so fast? Thats a really lame safe if Smee of all people can open it. At least Belle is going to be a proactive badass and go get the shall back.

    Belle is awesome however I do have a bone to pick that when she knocked hook below deck WHY DIDN’T SHE CLOSE THE LID ON HIM?! Damnit woman, always lock the bad guy up. Especially when he has your weapon! Smart move calling Rumpy though.

    Poor Emma has just got onboard the family train and Snow’s pulling away from the station already. Her fight with Charming was a bit heartbreaking, and odd considering she mentioned Turrets but now is dead set on staying in Storybrooke. I understand being tired of fighting but if Ogres is all you have to deal with?

    Hook and this Milah thing is really obnoxious for a Pirate. You’re a pirate! Plunder and pillage until you feel better.

    Who knew sprinkling pixie dust on Monsters would make cute (now somewhat dead) boys! Poor Mulan, love at first sight with a guy who’s one goal is to get back to a narcoleptic princess.

    As much as I loved Belle for stopping Rumpy and proving he really is good deep down in all the dark one power, letting hook live without at least stringing him up the mast of is ship was a bad idea.

    Emma’s face was priceless seeing Archie, Im surprised they didn’t freak out more. I do have to say, this is the second time that the show has introduced something I thought was going to be a long running thing (Aurora losing her heart, Archie being “Dead”, Regina being Framed) That ended almost immediately in the next episode. Is that just me?

    And now comes the most depressing part of the whole episode. I really wasn’t prepared for this, not my Belle! The scene between her and Rumpy was so good… and her wrapping it around him so tenderly?! It was such a happy little perfect moment and they had to Joss Whedon it! Granted Joss would have killed her completely…. I was crying with you PottyMouth. It was really shocking and hard to grasp what just went down.

    Question: Does Belle have a name in Storybrooke? What story did she had aside from being locked in a mental asylum.

    So….the player cut off the last minutes. I didn’t see the fireball or the car, but my bets are going to be Neal in the car. We all knew Neal was coming. Can he back up and then run over Hook a few more times please? I can’t make it out in the picture but what state is that license plate from?

    Ugh, I love Belle so much. I wonder if Rumpy is now going to stay because he needs to take care of Belle full time and will start working on a potion. I also wonder if instead of turning him Dark again, if having to take care of Belle and help her each step is going to humanize him more. That or Belle will freak out and shun him and then he really will be the dark one.

    Also, a thought, if True Love’s kiss almost broke Rumpy’s Dark One curse could’nt it potentially bring back Belle’s memories? Or would Rumpy not be willing to chance it?

    So now Neal is here, Hook is hopefully seriously injured, Belle has been shot and now has her mind wiped. Oi, this show is going to give me panic attacks.

    WTF? OMG! HOLY SHIT! All of it, in an instant. The fact that Belle isn’t dead is the only plus in the whole ending. I’m still in shock. I’m with you Potty. I hate the writers, but love the show and the way they keep on surprising us. I can’t even begin to speculate on where this will go… I never saw THIS coming!

    Loved your recap… I lived the show all over again like I was watching it with you on the couch.

    I loved that you used the boohoo knock knock joke. I do that one with my kids all the time.

    I loved Anne Hathaway in Les Mis. I used to hate her, but man she grew on me. My husband never cries and Anne made me cry in that movie. So she must be good.

    So I woke up this morning to awful snow. I had to drive in snow for the first time. I was late to class. And after class I fell down a flight of stairs like a baby giraffe. Then I came home saw the OUAT recap was up and instantly my day was better.

    The license plate said Pennsylvania. Has it been mentioned before? I was expecting Rumpy’s precious item to be Chip. He kept it all this time and remember how upset he was when Regina stole it.

    I think Snow is just happy that they’re are finally all together and safe. And is scared that if they go back they’ll be separated. Plus she doesn’t know that Cora is in StoryBrooke.

    @Wendy: They showed the stranger in the previews, it’s not Neal.

    I always knew that something was going to tear Rumpy and Belle apart. I didn’t want to believe it, but the feeling remained. However, I never in my life imagined that something of THIS magnitude would be the dealbreaker.

    It was three whole days before I could fully recover from the shock of seeing Rumpy and Belle being ripped apart by a smartass pirate with a penchant for guyliner. I couldn’t even scroll to ABC without thinking of Belle losing her memory.

    And I’ll admit I had some semblance of a lady-boner for Hook, especially when he cornered Belle in the cellar and told her the very very very sad story of Milah in that anguished voice. But the moment he shot her across the city line, that semblance all but went down the fucking drain, along with Rumpy’s hope for a future with her.

    Now I dread this Sunday’s episode, because I have a feeling it’s gonna be chock full of depressed Rumpy.

    Pottymouth, I have a bone to pic with this recap! It was great, don’t get me wrong! And Snow’s face in the cap about staying in Storybrooke totally says “This why we can never have nice things!” Which you definitely accomplished regarding your manicure comment BUT you missed the best screencap of all! when Hook, is taunting Rumpel and begs for death Robert Carlyle does the most fantastic bit of acting ever with the “He has to die, Belle!” line. It was the perfect bit of acting and hand gesturing and sarcasm. It was so nonchalant and hilarious my friend and I were laughing so hard we rewound the moment in the middle of the episode to watch it again! The man should win an Emmy, regardless of but they had to pinpoint a moment to give someone an Emmy it would be that and you must breezed right past! The hand gestures alone could have evoked a great comment from you! It was like magic and it should be here (it should be everywhere! I have a GIF I found saved just so I can spam my friends with it!). However, you do such wonderful work I’ll forgive you of this transgression, this time.

    Moving right along. This episode made quite the crash! If I didn’t know better i would think this episode aired during November/May sweeps. There was so much!!!! Typically I watch the episodes with my sisters but a friend invited me over to watch. It was a completely different experience because with my sisters I tend to freak out the loudest. But with my friend we were oohing and ahhhing, probably still laughing about Rumpel’s awesome hand gesturing and then when Belle got shot we both bolted I to the air screaming! She shouted OMG I shouted holy shit and then we were speechless. I would have threatened Hook with violence but he was otherwise indisposed and I became super curious about the license plate.

    I’m really glad they didn’t drag out the Archie thing. It would have been too much Catherine and there wasn’t a good enough reason for it.

    WHY WASN’T AUGUST AT THE (not) FUNERAL?!

    So Rumpel and Belle were super cute in this episode and I think the writers are super mean. Snow and Charming are finally together and there’s a tiny chance there’s trouble in paradise and Regina is on the lamb(maybe she’s shacking up with August? That would be one way to get all her evil, betrayal angst out for sure! Then again she was quite the bitch when she was getting some with Graham and if he couldn’t get the job done maybe she can’t change?). Anyway, why can’t anyone be happy for more than thirty seconds? Why is it every time we get a cool character centric episode where they prove to be key players in other stories and show us how layered they are we must also fear for their lives?! Why can’t everyone just be friends and bake a cake made of rainbows and sprinkles and fairy dust and why must my shows take OTPs and rip them apart and then punch the fans in the chest just to send the message home? I can’t…I’m sorry, I just have a lot of feelings!!!

    *Whispers* Wendy, this reminds me of The Doctor and Donna, which makes me extra sad!!!

    However, I do believe Rumpel will find a way to fix this. True love’s kiss(I actually know the answer to that but if you would like to know click the linky in my last comment on the previous recap for the Canadian preview which is different from the US). Anyway, I don’t believe he’ll go full on Dark One like we’ve seen, he’s always been a man of doing what benefits him and saving Belle benefits him so he’ll find a way. I suggest he find Cora’s heart and use it in a potion of some sort, that should break her and any lingering curse in Storybrooke! Maybe he can use her chipped teacup(if Hook didn’t smash it to bits) and conjure up a cure!

    Which brings me to the mysterious guy with the Pennsylvania licenses plate. Since the barrier spell is still in place does that mean that only fairy tale characters can enter Storybrooke? If so does that mean this guy is a fairy take character? If he, who is he and how did he not get taken with the curse? On this note, I vote Peter Pan, simply because I think it would be awesome if Peter hit Hook with his car just as Rumpel was going to kill our once-dear-seemingly-harmless-pirate-friend-and-future-Emma-lover-Killian-Jones
    However, I suspect this guy is human(though there’s speculation that HE’S Bae), but I want him to be human. Because the writers and various gossipy websites foretold that we would see what happens when a human enters Storybrooke and this terrible driver, has to be human because otherwise that means that Neal is human and I want Neal to be Bae because I want Rumpel to be Henry’s grandfather!!! Also, it’s really not good for Storybrooke’s signage whenever someone new comes to town(look look I made a Graham line reference! Oh, no I miss Graham!). :-(

    I liked that Mulan referenced her own story and I do hope we get to see her fight for the Emperor but it’s such bad timing to see her again because she still gets on my nerves and is still really irritating and I’m sure the reason we haven’t seen her or and Aurora is because the two haven’t left Rumpel’s cell where we last saw them because they’re trying to figure out how they’ll explain to Phillip that they fell in love with each other. In reality I wonder if Mulan will want to save someone from the Underworld, whenever we get there and that’s how they’ll solve the love triangle. I was so excited to see Phillip, though! He’s a cutie!

    Who taught Belle to use a cell phone? She was locked up and had no idea about modern conveniences like…er…penicillin. She should have sent Rumpel a text “Halp! In the elevator in the lib. Come get me, bitch” and then have a completely irrelevant emoticon.

    How would they get back to FairyTale Land ? I’m conflicted. Snow wants to get a bigger place with Charming but you would think she would suggest they all move. But then Charming is all homesick. I feel they’re putting out roadblocks and it’s ruining the “family fantasy” they both want. What if the writers do something terrible like make us realize that Snow and Charming have actually grown apart a lot and they may have worked out in FairyTale Land but Storybrooke is a cruel dark place and they break up and start seeing other people and…OMG that would be awful, why did I just put that out there?! If any OUAT writers read this, avert your eyes!!! However, IF any OUAT DO read these comments, please more shirtlessness, we’ve got that scene with Graham and I believe a scene with August which were eons ago!

    Phew, that was slightly manic…

    @Wendy: it’s never just ogres!

    Belle is Belle. She didn’t have a story, Regina turned her into a hopeless blob. Jefferson rescued her and told her to find Rumpel but she had no idea who he was or who she was. She has no memories in Storybrooke except of straight jackets and padded walls.

    @Cheryl: Yes, the actor is Ethan Embry. They show him in the car and in the hospital.

    OMG we get more Dr. Whale this week and I can’t wait to meet his brother. This episode is called “In The Name of the Brother” and even though it’s going to be Frankenstein centric (brought to us in black and white and living color, woohoo!) I am hoping that they slip Charming’s freaking real name in there!

    Oh I bet it is Peter Pan in the car!!! The liscense plate as took flight makes sense for that!!!

    I am a huge fan girl for all things Lost Boys. Lost Boys is my favorite movie. I love Peter Pan. I love Hook. I love that dubstep video with the lost boys. I have little boys of my own. I tell them all the time that if they go off to Neverland that is okay, just make sure to take Mommy with you.

    SagKim: I should have known watching online leaves something out. I went wiki’ing earlier and found some questionably spoilery things about the rest of the season and realized it’s not Neal. But I do know when he’ll show up now.

    I really hope for true love’s kiss to work. Cause Rumpy and Belle are totally my OTP for this show. Forget charming and snow! I think he’ll do whatever he can to bring Belle back which will help release the whole town.

    Everyone should ignore me about the stranger being neal, I was wronngggg and didn’t get previewness, but I wonder who he’ll be. I’ve heard he’ll play a role in Belle’s story now but it better not be luring her away from Rumpy :(

    I bet you Rumpy did and put himself on her speed dial haha!

    ADVENTURE YOU BITE YOUR TONGUE YOUNG LADY! We had enough \Are they not meant to be together\ last season. So much angst. I’m still recovering. I have a feeling like I mentioned above, Snow is worried Emma wont go back with them. And then she’ll loose her daughter part two.

    So…basically Belle has amnesia now? Because Regina never bothered to tell her anything else? right?

    I cant say if we’ll ever find out Charming’s real name but judging by the name of the last episode of the season (which according to wikipedia theres only five more episodes?! SAY IT AINT SO) you were right about who Cora is.

    April: My entire thesis for college was centered around the ideal of Lost Boys and Girls. Its one of my favorites too!

    I’m still not over my feels about Belle. WHY BELLE?!

    Wendy: I keep telling myself that I’m so emotionally fried from this show alone that Sunday can come and Adam Horowitz, Ed Kitiss and Jane Epenson can all do their worst because I’m ready…Except I’m totally not and I’ll probably end up sitting in the corner crying, rocking back and forth while humming “Tale As Old As Old As Time”

    August went to get Neal, that’s what I keep telling myself. He’ll be return with Neal, he’ll think he’s being valiant and Emma will punch both of them in nuts! But we will be happy because August will be back…The writers give-th and the writer take-ith away. Except there’s been a lot of taking and I am not amused!

    Joss Whedoning, glad there’s a name for it because in my head I’d termed it punch in the boob-itis because that’s close enough to the heart and that’s what hardcore shippers get, pain!

    (That is so mean of the writers to do that, they combined Rose and Donna and have really hurt my feelings!)

    I agree, Snow and Charming and boring now (well not really but more on that in a sec). I strongly urge you to watch the Canadian promo for this week because True Love’s Kiss is in addressed and well…….

    Rumpel will certainly be the one to free the whole town, that makes sense since the curse’s purpose was to get to Bae, he should be the one the relieve the town of the final obstacle. As Walt Disney would say, “Keep moving forward!”

    He’ll play a role in Belle’s story…Hmmm…Well let’s just argue for a second that Belle is also Dorothy, because he could be and also because I want Whale to be the Wizard! Anyway, could this guy be the Tin Man? Or the Scarecrow? I want him to be Peter but what could Belle and Peter have to do with one another? This better be Mary Margret/Whale fling that only happens because, well, she’s cursed!

    I bet that’s exactly how he put himself in her speed dial “Rumpy”

    I know, I’m so tired of the Snow/Charming emotional roller coaster but really?! They just got reacquainted do they need to go about fighting because they want different things? There are no farms in Storybrooke, Charming so man up and be a little more like that pussy David Nolan, who you also are, and buy a freaking house and christen it by having sex everywhere and just be happy you’re together and not suffering anymore like Regina or Belle(who doesn’t know she’s suffering) or Rumpel! And Snow needs to come right out and ask Emma what she wants instead of just staying because she thinks that’s what Emma wants(it is what Emma wants but I’m trying to be objective here)…Charming doesn’t know Emma at all yet, they need bonding time but at the same time he’s not thinking of her not wanting to go because they haven’t bonded. They make quite the dynamic duo as sheriffs(Emma is Batman and Charming is totally Robin).

    I’m sure Regina told her nothing, Belle didn’t look like she talked to Regina much but I believe that was deliberate because she recognized Regina. Then again I’m basing that idea off the theory that when Jefferson released her she was eager to get out when she saw it wasn’t Regina but on the other hand Jefferson had to tell Belle to find Rumpel and tell him that Regina locked her maybe so maybe she was just so lovesick that the curse she wiped her of her memories as Belle but didn’t replace them with anything else. How sad!

    There has to be more than five episodes, that might be all that’s been verified for now, season 1 had like 20 something episodes…Speaking if Cora there’s a scene in the Canadian promo with Rumpel and that’s how I’ll know anyone has watched it because what they show us does not bode well and certainly would make us Belle/Rumpel OTP shippers simmer.

    But I know we’re getting More Charming backstory(and his name), Adam Horowitz tweeted as much.

    I WAS RIGHT ABOUT WHO CORA IS?! Wait, what does this mean?! I’ve had so many Cora theories?! How far back do I need to go? Or is it what I think it is regarding that story related to that other character that rhymes with Frumpel?

    I know just the moment and the gesture you are referring to, it was by far my most favorite few seconds of the whole show!! Yo’re right, the way he tossed his cane and looked at Belle like he did just had me loving him more than ever!! Surely he will stay with Belle and find someway to bring her memory back! They NEED to be together and if it ends up that they are not I will be so sad. Anyway, was just so thrilled that someone else noticed that moment of the show and had the same response as me!!

    Trying again——

    Could our new-comer be Aladdin????? The plate could be– “Take Flight”–I like it!! )BRAVO to who ever cracked it) I always associate numbers with pages numbers in a book. The car being from
    Penn. was a thinker for me–Gettysburg, Amish Country, Hershey Park, my ex-boyfriend, QVC–all things I associate with Penn.

    Could Emma be able to break Belle’s “curse”? She can do magic now–Cora wasn’t able to take Emma’s heart–maybe Emma has stronger magic. She ows Rumpy a favor–this could make them square.

    I love how Belle-centric this episode was–and what a merciful girl she is. She helped Yaoguay (and its Prince Phillip!!!!!!!!) and tried to get Rumpy to spare Hook—I love Rumpy when he is losing control (God that sounds not good). Belle got to have some adventure and embark on a quest–and she got ass-kicking boots and cleavage.

    Cawfee: I don’t think it could Aladdin because Ethan Embry doesn’t look like he’s Arabian and why would he come from Pennsylvania?! Then again based on my theory why would a potentially adult Peter Pan come from Penn either? Why is Penn I important? Who in Penn is important? Your point about Hershey is making me want chocolate.

    I LOVE THE IDEA THAT EMMA’S DEBT IS BEING PAID BY USING MAGIC TO MAKE BELLE REMEMBER!!!

    There are empty picture frames in the apartment?

    I am against the idea of using Dracula. As much as I would enjoy seeing Mary Shelley’s and Bram Stoker’s characters hanging out in the same place, I just think that bringing in Dracula makes it look like they’re trying to suck(yes pun intended) the vampire crowd and the show doesn’t need that right now, it runs fine on it’s own merits. I feel like it makes more sense if it was someone Hook related since the episode featured Smee and Hook at their trucks again and Hook is facing death by car instead of death by Rumpel, which will please Belle when she does remember but also fit into the overall story. I mean Hook was asking for Rumpel to kill him but I’m sure he would have gotten a hot or two in and to be thwarted by Peter even in Storybrooke…I just like the idea that Hook has has stuff with Rumpel but there’s all the Hook stuff in Neverland we need to see too!

    Just throwing it out there even though I can’t see what it could do with “Take Flight” (speaking of I’m reminded of Chip and Dale in that show The Rescuer or something like that)but could this guy be a part of The Little Mermaid story in some way?

    Are there any real pilots we should be considering?

    Something to consider, the only people we’ve seen enter Storybrooke are Emma, Henry and August. August was the only actual Fairy Tale character and he was fully aware of himself since he was unaffected by the curse. He also had no problem finding Storybrooke and just drove right in. Emma had a minor car accident when she got to Storybrooke and now this guy careened in. So if he is a fairy tale character we should assume he knows who is right? Because if you were outside of the curse you maintained your original self, but now with the curse being broken someone would know who they are anyway anyway. So why would this guy end up in Storybrooke now? It was obviously on purpose(if he is a fairy tale character) coming from Pennsylvania.

    Also, FairyTale Land and Wonderland were taken with the curse, so does that mean that Neverland is in Storybrooke? I know Hook wants his revenge on Rumpel and I’m sure that’s all consuming but as a real pirate wouldn’t he want to pick on Peter a little bit, wreck a little havoc like Cora? Then again we have no idea what transpired in Neverland, it’s not as if he’s even mentioned Peter.

    True, sorry for not being specific enough the thought was coming to me as I typed and I suppose it got a bit lost in translation. Even so the people in these worlds were taken, we know this because Jefferson was in Wonderland and now he’s in Storybrooke. Regina mentioned that she chose who she wanted there, so if this stranger is a fairy tale character aside from whatever he was doing outside of Storybrooke, if he came to our world by means of the curse or escaped because of it like Emma and August, if he’s any of the characters we’ve mentioned what would Regina have wanted from him? Hopefully they’ll continue to surprise us and come right out with this mystery like they have so many other plot points that could have dragged on.

    I was thinking the picture frames were a style thing, like one of those Anthropologie wall art type things. But maybe its indicative to the curse? After all MM had no real family under the curse, showing her former lack of family?

    I hope we get a Neverland episode too. Maybe Peter comes to the aid of Emma and everyone in a climatic point of the season and the flashbacks are how he thwarted Hook the first time.

    Adventure: Joss Whedoning is a painful thing to live through. He gives greatness and he takes it away.

    Snow and Charming aren’t persay…boring, its just I like to see other relationships. It helps with the dynamics.

    I’m thinking he’s just a human, human. The writers have said we’ll see what happens when a human comes to Storybrooke.

    I’m just seeing Snow as scared of loosing Emma and Henry to Cora, to Regina, and to the human world. What if they go back and Emma wants to stay or Cora attacks ( I know Cora’s in Storybrooke but Snow wont till tomorrow) I think she’s having soma serious maternal meltdowning.

    THERE BETTER BE MORE EPISODES! Ahhh I was really depressed reading that there were 5 left.

    Don’t tell me that, Cora already makes me mad and grr

    He also said we’re getting Ariel and I have no clue where she’d fit in now.

    You are right, go back to your main Cora theory!!

    I’m sticking to he’s human. Especially after the whole discussion last week on what if a stranger walks in.

    @Wendy: they should add Joss Whedoning to the DSM an make an official disorder because it’s terrible. Everything hurts. I’m just going to keep telling myself that love is strength.

    True they’re not boring, I’m bored of them. Granted, it’s good things aren’t tense anymore but do they really need to have a petty fight about moving? It’s not about where they live but that they’re all together. A maternal meltdown sounds exactly right!

    I’m conflicted, I want the guy to be human and certain would see to be leaning that way but if he’s not I want him to be someone really great!

    I won’t tell you anything. Just prepared to be pissed with Cora because she [verb] [noun]

    But saying we’re getting Ariel in an I interview and tweeting holiday spoilers are completely different. Though if look back at all the stuff that was interconnected and consider they have until May to wow is there is time. Look at everything they packed into last week’s episode? I think she’s coming and we’ll know immediately because she’ll be all red headed!

    Sooooo….With that being Penn’s slogan I ‘m going to guess that either Andy of Toy Story is all grown up and instead of playing with toys he’s found that magical town of fairy tales that we all wish we could live in! That, or, it’s Buzz Lightyear as a human and he’s a terrible driver, you know all that falling with style business? Once really can go to infinity and beyond! ;-P

    I have a feeling we’re getting an Oz centric story soon. I don’t know why(Okay I do, I did what Wendy did and checked out the names of the currently confirmed episodes but didn’t read anything, just the episode names)and one of them, again just going by name, feels very “Ding Dong the witch is dead”…(That’s not the name).

    Sherlock would be cool…Even though Emma is the Sheriff and solver of mysteries! But if we’re talking literature I want Catherine and Heathcliff and Elizabeth and Darcy and Sydney Carton oh and Scout from To Kill A Mockingbird, I looooooovvvvveeee that book!

    Sorry for super posting but I went and indulged in some spoilery activity through the Once Wiki page and I have to say I’m a little confused by the description for “Tiny” the next episode, and by confused I mean displeased. They’ve been so kind to us by not making certain things drag on but I have a feeling that they’re about to run us in circles! Ugh! We have what feels like forever to over analyze it before the actual episode! Then again the whole point might be to insert doubt. They’ve done it before…I’m either saying too much right now or raving like an idiot…”We’re all mad here!” Sorry I watched Alice In Wonderland today lol!

    Pennsylvania is also the Keystone State. But Philadelphia is the City of Brotherly Love … I know it’s a stretch, but maybe less of a stretch in an episode called \In the Name of the Brother?\

    What’s also a stretch is thinking that Whale’s brother could somehow be the Tin Man, but when he needs a heart and a has a pocket watch like the Tin Man, and his brother looks SOOOOOO Ozian, I could not stop thinking it!

    Im just breezing through, I didn’t watch last nights yet (Roommate hogged the living room) and it’s not on ABC so I don’t want to read anything I shouldn’t yet.

    Adventure: I feel like Ariel needs a bit more to lead up to her and with the way we’re spiraling and the summaries for the next few episodes I don’t know if it’ll happen.

    Cawfee + Advenure: Sherlock is off the table as well as Robin Hood. Sherlock is because of the popularity of Steven Moffat’s Sherlock. They’d only do it if Benedict Cumberbatch guest stared! I can’t remember why Robin Hood is. I know the Sherrif was supposed to be Robin Hood at first!

    I’ll come back and read the rest once I watch the episode which will hopefully be up after work *grumble*

    Cheryl: Meeeeeee toooo! As soon as I saw the pocket watch it started to feel very tin man! And since Whale is already referred to as a “Wizard” I see that working out really nicely! I also thought he looked Ozian, but it was subtle.

    Wendy: They couldn’t secure the rights to Robin Hood but they were hoping to get them in the future, so it’s a possibility at some point. Don’t get me started on my guest star list for this show, there are so many people I want to see!!! I think they’re going to surprise us with Ariel

    Cawfee: The library is open and I can’t wait to see where they take us!!! Yes, what can we make of this Her…

    I know I should wait to discuss these things but I want to make a note, first I’ve totally jumped from one ship and onto another after this episode. I’ll say nothing more on that on that for now.

    The stranger who wanders into town … am I right that his name was Greg Mendel? As in the father of genetics, Gregor Mendel, with the pea plants?? That’s GOT to be a clue, like Whale’s name. But a clue to what? And if it’s a nod to him, who would the “Her” be, because that Mendel was a monk.

    I did a GOOGLE– and Greg Mandell/Mendell could be either—Johann Gregor Mendell–scientist or Greg Mandel is a fictional psychic detective–pretty modern-1990′s fiction. I am leaning toward scientist–b/c “lightening bolt!!!!!!!”—didnt Rumpy say something about the magic of science???
    Mendell had sisters…………..hhmhmmmmm

    I had an awesome thought—if the phone said She rather than Her–She could be sidh (pronounced “she”)–the fairy folk of Ireland. Gotta rethink that now–lol.
    How do we know Her means female??? Could be short for Herman???

    I like Doc Whale stepping into the role of Wizard of OZ–that gives us brother Gerhart (heehee-like what the writers did there??) as Tin Man and how about Bashful for Lion and Dopey could be Scarecrow.     Once Upon A Time’s Wiki page http://onceuponatime.wikia.com/wiki/Once_Upon_a_Time_Wiki seems to refer to the scientist, I really like where Cheryl was going with her thoughts but Cawfee you are on to something too, “Her” could be Herman, how quick we are to think it’s female. What I like about that is my first impression of this guy was bad. I mean what kind of asshole has his wife/girlfriend/lover listed in his phone as Her?! I mean even Whale, who is notorious in Storybrooke for not calling back(I’m sorry but in this last episode when Snow was trying to get Emma to stop talking about the one night stand I had a He’s Just Not That Into You Ginny Foodwin moment and I foun the scene way funnier than it probably was)is not that bad.

    So I wanted Belle to be Dorothoy(Then again I do see the possibility of Red being Dorothoy, though I’m tempted make a Toto insinuation). But I’m not sure we’ve met our Scarecrow and our Cowardly Lion(though Rumpel pre Dark One could totally fit that description) just like I doubt we’ve met dear Glinda. Though wouldn’t it be just fantastic if Regina was the good witch and Cora was the wicked witch of th west?! Instead of the witches of the east and west being related. I’d like to see Cora melt!

    Since we are mildly discussing Greg, is Emma off her game or did she know he was lying? Because the show has in the last forgotten Emma’s ever powerful lie detector?

    And does anyone else think that it’s great that Emma and Henry are going with Rumpel to find Bae?! If it is Neal we have quite the awkward family reunion coming up, more awkward than the hug Emma’s parents gave her in the premiere though likely just as adorable and allergy inducing. Though I was hoping Rumpel would ask Emma to help him restore Belle’s memories like you suggested, Cawfee.

    I don’t think his lying is bad, I saw him referring to someone in his phone as bad but Sagi, you make a valid point about the possibility of “Her” being romantic(though it feels kind if rude to me if it is a girl). But lying certainly wasn’t bad, I actually think he put on a good performance, worried about Hook, embarrassed about texting. And I’m curious why he actually crashed because I don’t think he intended to end up in Storybrooke. He’s concerning though because he told stuff to whoever was on the other end of that phone and that could be bad news for Storybrooke, very bad news! But I really don’t know what to make of Greg. However, if I made such an entrance into Storybrooke I think I’d shout something like “I’M HOME!” But I think your question was rhetorical lol! Goodness the next recap can’t come soon enough!

    It’s obvious that the stranger isn’t from Fairytale Land. I sure wish they wouldn’t be so wishy washy about Emma’s ability. Either she has it or she don’t. I hate being jacked around about it like they seem to so love to do about it. I also hate this tease us with a couple of episodes garbage. Just to make us wait 3 weeks when it is actually getting pretty good. I liked last Sunday’s episode and I never liked the fact of Whale being Dr. Victor Frankenstein from the beginning. After watching last Sunday though, I’m OK with it now…..

    Thanks for the update PottyMouth! since it might be delayed I’m just going to go ahead and continue contributing to the conversation.

    Mike and Cawfee, I completely agree, it seemed to work with Regina when she said she didn’t kill Archie but Pongo’s evidence seemed to prove otherwise. What I don’t understand is why she seems to doubt this ability when she trusted it so much in the first season. Similarly, it’s why her interactions with Hook are so, interesting because she should be able to tell he’s being genuine like when she told him that he would have done the same with the giant and he said he wouldn’t have. Granted, there’s nothing disproving the fact that Emma lied to allay everyone’s fears, I mean there was talking of just letting Greg die because he had seen something. But as far as the magic goes I always assumed the “lie detector” was because of her ability to do magic so why now that magic is in Storybrooke would it interfere? You would think her signal would be stronger. Granted if this is the biggest inconsistency we can complain about I’m certainly not complaining.

    Cawfee, that would actually be a very convincing point except we don’t know when this ability manifested itself. I assumed it was something she was always able to do but you’re saying that like Neal and the other things that happened in her past forced her to learn to have a good instinct for lying. Which means that depending on if the ability is actually a gift or something she learned and when she started exhibiting it’s ability then it’s not as trustworthy as Emma made it seem(which is ironic).

    This could make sense, she trusted Neal and I kind of like the idea that he forced her to trust in the instinct of lying, it’ll help when he tells her the truth.

    Unless, what if there’s connection to Pinocchio here. His story is all about lies and deceit and being impulsive. But it is interesting that of all the people to come to the real world with it’s him. I mean she never really knew August because he abandoned her but to have an instinct for lying just like Pinocchio’s nose would grow if he did is quite the coincidence.
