I always wanted a VW bug because I thought they were SO cool looking, but my parents deemed them unsafe and bought me a Hyundai instead. Because a little square Japanese car is OBVIOUSLY waaaaaay safer than a little round German one. Can you tell I’m still a little bitter about the whole thing?
Anyway…..no sooner does Emma start to drive away than a man pops up from the backseat.
Peek a boo!
After him assuring her that he’s not calling the cops, Emma tells the mystery man her name. “Good name”, he opines. She wonders if he lives in the car or if he was just waiting for it to get stolen. He’s gonna tell her over drinks, he replies….which causes Emma to run a stop sign. And get pulled over.
Ma’am……I’m gonna have to ticket you for impersonating a teenager.
Turns out that Emma was stealing an already stolen car, but luckily mystery man is quick on his feet and covers by telling the cop that he’s trying to teach his girlfriend how to drive stick.
Lady drivers….ya know
The cop falls for it and lets them off with a warning. And off they go…….
Back at the beanstalk, the ladies have a brief discussion before Emma tells them she’s the one that will be going up the beanstalk with Hook. She asks Mulan if there’s anything in her bag that will help her against a giant.
Just a little bag of poppy dust
Emma asks Mulan about the quality of her sword. For a minute I thought Emma was going to ask to borrow (and from Mulan’s face it looks like that thought crossed her mind as well), but she simply wants to know if it’s sharp enough to cut through the beanstalk. Damn skippy it is. She tells her if she’s not back in ten hours she’s to chop that muther down.
Not sure why it’s so important to chop it down other than that it gives a deadline and ensures the inevitable confrontation between Snow and Mulan later.
Emma gives Hook his hook back (since he can’t climb one handed) and up, up, up they go…..
As they climb Hook tries to make small talk with Emma, but she is having none of that. He thinks she is afraid to reveal herself. He says things will be a lot smoother if she trusts him. Not bloody likely. He then begins to psychoanalyze her talking about her doing this because she has the most motivation and Emma thinks he’s a nosy eavesdropping parker.
Ah, but he also knows that she doesn’t want to abandon him the way she herself was abandoned.
What are you, a mind reader or something?
