Hey Gasmii! I’ll be filling in for Hypno for the rest of the season.
Last week the girls tried to lure A out of hiding by switching Garrett’s note with one leading him/her to the chapel during a Thank You dance. Spencer and Jason find April Rose which turns out to be an antique store where they purchase an anklet that belonged to Ali. Jason turns it over to the police but finds out that trace amounts of blood on the anklet end up clearing Garret of her murder. Spencer got punked!

Seriously, what kind of detective creeps through the back door?
This week we open with Hanna eating breakfast and getting ready for school while talking to Ashley who is at a conference. Creepy Wilden knocks at the back door (Isn’t that shit fenced in and what was wrong with the front door?) and asks for a blood sample since the blood on Ali’s anklet matches Hanna’s (O-Negative, super rare). He also accuses her of switching the notes and Hanna does a terrible job of defending herself. You know for someone who was once Queen Bee she is terrible at witty comebacks. I guess she learned nothing from Ali or Mona. She meets with the other girls and is worried because she thinks A might have framed her by placing her blood on the anklet. She says it is possible because even Emily is missing a whole day from her memory when Aria questions how someone could get her blood without her knowing. Now that I think about it this isn’t exactly the first time Emily was drugged and placed in the back of a car. Emily must be really abductable.

I guess they don’t run into many blonde girls in Rosewood.
The girls continue arguing when Hanna walks off and they enter the coffee shop. They are all stunned when they see a girl from behind who resembles and sounds a lot like Ali. The girl is actually a friend of Ali’s named CeCe Drake who spent an intense summer with her in Cape May and dated Jason. The girls apparently never heard of Cece but Ali told her all about them. She invites the girls to visit her at the new boutique she is working at and turns to Aria and tells her that if she wants to do some free shopping, she will happily look the other way. Aria says you must be thinking of Hanna who isn’t present. Wow Aria, you just called your friend a thief. The girls all question if CeCe is like Ali or if Ali was like CeCe. Finally at school, Aria drops off some mail to Ella who is staring at a dress she purchased for her date later that night. They discuss the date and fashion tips when Ella says she shouldn’t take cues from Aria who wears forks as earrings. Why would you bring your dress to your classroom and then display it for everyone to see? Is this some small town thing?

Spencer’s creepy timeline
If you like it, spread it!:

first of all, thanks for filling in SG and great recap! the “look at all the fucks i’m giving” make me snort/laugh.
second, i’m an adult and everything but, this episode creeped me out. something about a locked children’s psych ward in the dark with someone humming and brushing a doll’s hair is innately freaky. and maybe i’m just slow but is mona actually trying to help them now? she was talking in code so obviously she knew the new A put that recorder in the doll and she didn’t want A to know what she was telling them. but then why not just say it earlier? ugh i hate that this show makes me try to rationalize it when it’s pointless!
I’m an adult, too, and I literally said quite loudly to the tv ….. “Why do you keep going in their backyard!?!” Weirdo.
Maybe I should stop watching shows for tweenagers.
I’m another adult hooked on this show, tho’ I also get annoyed with how stupid those girls are sometimes. I think I’ve forgotten how dopey I, and my friends, was/were when we were teens. At least that explains why I keep telling them to not go in there or don’t do that. Still, I want to know who A is.
Good recap, SG.
