Pretty Little Liars Recap: Misery Loves Company

Emily starts following Caleb as Spencer makes an anniversary dinner for Toby at his apartment. She opens a desk to get a pen and inside is a name tag for Radley revealing to us that he is the one that was sneaking Mona in and out. Duh, we already knew that when he was revealed as part of the team. Spencer bought him a scrabble set for their anniversary but seriously who sits around and plays Scrabble anymore when you can just play Words with Friends? Hanna stares in the window of the boutique before walking in and sees a blonde girl wearing a red jacket in the reflection. For a dead girl, Alison sure is everywhere. Hanna walks into a pretty empty room save for a bunch of mannequins when she realizes that it’s a trap and Toby is in the room with her. He pushes a bunch of mannequins into her causing her to fall down because she’s too stupid to run out the front door and then flees. He drops a key and then texts Hanna that the next time her face is getting slashed. Seriously who threatens to slash a girl’s face?

Emily is still following Caleb but gets a call from Spencer to meet up since Hanna was assaulted by Toby. Instead of waiting for a few minutes to see who Caleb is meeting she flees to help her friend who is not even in danger anymore. Had she waited she would have seen that Caleb was meeting with Paige in order to team up and take down Mona once and for all. So everyone knows about A at this point and all the harassment but no one is going to the police? If everyone already knows and can corroborate stories then why not end it and just go to the police? I’m sure they can figure out who A is much faster than these collective dummies. The girls discuss Hanna and getting her face messed up and the reason why they haven’t been to the police is because of those pictures of them at Ali’s grave. Seriously that’s like a misdemeanor and her body was returned…plus Spence’s mom can get them out of it on probation. And one little fall sure made her forget that Caleb was probably meeting some new piece of ass that doesn’t have baggage.

Now it’s Ali’s turn to snoop around Aria’s room because apparently Aria is hiding all kinds of good shit. Ali finds a doll hidden in the closet and walks out to speak with Aria and basically confesses to blackmailing her father because she was desperate for the money. Ali doesn’t really admit whether she is dead or not but that she can see everything clearly now more than before and that the girls see A everywhere. She is surprised that Spencer hasn’t figured it out yet but then again Spencer just lost a brain bowl to Mona so it’s not that much of a surprise. Ali warns Aria about the diary pages and Meredith before leaving and asking Aria if she knows why she was picked. Aria wakes up and thinks everything is a dream except the doll is where Ali left it on her dresser. Aria figures out that she is locked in her room and fashions a shank before falling asleep…seriously you can’t be ready for battle while sleeping.
