Pretty Little Liars Recap: Mona-Mania!

Paige and Em are on the way to the party when Paige has an anxiety attack and has to pull over. She starts flipping out saying how she has to pretend to be strong because that is what Emily likes but she hasn’t been able to function since Halloween because of everything that has happened. She always feels like something is going to happen to them and then apologizes for ruining her night. Em suggests they go for a walk to calm Paige down before heading home which is a grand idea considering she just had a nervous breakdown from being scared all the fucking time and then you hear a creepy noise but yea…walking in the woods at night sounds really safe and secure. They eventually end up back at the car to realize one of the tires is flat and upon inspection see that it has been slashed. Emily sees Toby in the distance and decides to pursue him in the woods because knives no longer scare her. Paige grabs a bar of some sort and joins in the pursuit except Em loses Toby and Paige persuades her to just head home. Later at home Paige applauds Em for not being scared but Em reveals that she is just angry and doesn’t feel that she should have to live this way. They kiss and go to bed.

Mona and Spence start their quiz off and at the end of Round 2 Spencer is up 3 points and feeling cocky as she looks over to see Mona who is clearly breaking down again. Spencer takes her moment of weakness as a way to pounce on her and starts her last question but fumbles. Mona wins the captain spot and Andrew tries to comfort Spencer by offering to have Mona thrown off the team by going to the faculty. Hanna walks in to calm Spencer off the ledge but before they leave she confronts Mona telling her that she knows she is still manipulating people and that she doesn’t want anything to do with her. Mona mumbles that she is sorry she feels that way as the girls walk off. Later Spencer tells Hanna she shouldn’t have cut Mona out so quickly when Hanna gets a text from A that it was a big mistake and that she isn’t the only one who can slice and dice. Hanna knows the texts aren’t from Lucas and that there are more people on the A team than they think that are far worse. Spencer says Mona can now take them out in the open without having to hide.

Aria and Meredith arrive back home and strike a truce while trying to decide if Byron really had something to do with Ali’s murder. Its funny how Aria is so quick to be Team Meredith meanwhile the bitch was fucking your dad and ruined your parent’s marriage and sent your brother off on a psycho tangent. #WhereIsMikeAnyway. Byron leaves his office and Mona sneaks in while Toby creeps around in the woods and clumsily hides the mask from Halloween under like 5 leaves near some train tracks and the episode ends. Why does Lucas have a bunk bed in his room and does this concern anyone else but me? Is Meredith playing Aria or is she really concerned about what Byron might be capable? When did Byron get so creepy…and WHERE IS MIKE?

Lucas can’t be on meth…yet, or he’d look like a really haggard 40 year old. His teeth and skin are still too nice looking–heck, he even has teeth!

Oh, and thanks, SG, for questioning the whereabouts of Mike. The same thought hit me while watching this episode. I even questioned my memory of the show.

So, this show is normally pretty bananas, but this new half of this sesason is even more bananas than usual, and I feel like all of the characters are different people now, like New Jason without getting new actors. I would have thought Byron would just yell at Aria, not weirdly allude to his knowledge of things? And why would Toby slash the tire just to run away from Emily? What the eff was the point of that? And why would A need to threaten the girls to be friends with Mona? Isn’t the whole point that she doesn’t need to manipulate them anymore, she can kick their asses without any of that?

I noticed Lucas’ shoes as well!

I think Meredith is totes working Aria…

Could Toby be any more stupid. I mean come on dude, you know that Em is athletic, yet you wait in the bushes for her.

I honestly am going to have to watch this again when it airs tomorrow, I don’t remember half of what happened.

I was thinking that the bike incident was supposed to be for either Em or Paige. Both of them seem to ride every where. Didn’t see it as a way to get to Spencer..

Was it just me, or did it seem like they focused a lot on Aria being sick? My first thought is that she’s pregnant, but I’m not sure the show would do that.

I agree, Meredith is not to be trusted!!!

Also, going along with the #Whereismike Lucy hale (Aria) tweeted: Seriously though…where is mike Montgomery? Have we hidden him in the basement? All boy boarding school? Realized rosewood was too crazy?

I thought she was preggers too! Cause for real, that sickness got an insane amount of air time. And, it would make a great tension in terms of his other baby she’s keeping a secret. I mean, her guilt would be even more, and then she’ll probably end up competing with the other baby mama for attention for her baby or whatever. Or it’ll be a scare but all that stuff will happen anyways.
