Pretty Little Liars Recap: Single Fright Female

Spencer somehow is now at Hanna’s discussing the snake incident with Hanna asking stupid questions like if it had an A tattooed on it. Spencer is freaking out and tells her that she literally called Paige a snake outside of the locker room when arguing with Emily earlier in the day. She really believes that Paige is after them because Paige has been obsessed with Emily for years, hated Maya and Ali and didn’t mention that she was with Em the night Ali’s body was dug up until Em said something to her. Hanna says that Paige loves Emily and it couldn’t be her but Spencer says she needs to review the footage from Noel’s cabin because it was probably a girl who grabbed Maya and that girl is Paige. I hate when Spencer thinks like me because it makes me question my sanity. Hanna gets a call and Spencer wants the phone thinking it is Wren but it’s Em who reveals that Maya’s bag is now missing from her room and Hanna believes A snuck in and stole it back. Spencer tells her why would A have to sneak in when she was invited implying it was Paige.

So don’t mess with me okay?

Emily and Paige show up to the boutique where Spencer and Hanna are helping Cece prepare for the trunk show. Paige offers to help Spencer and they talk about fashion and how Paige likes being under the radar but how Emily has made her more confident. She says she knows that Spencer has reservations about her but she wants to start over and then breaks the mannequin’s finger either consciously or as a sign for Spencer to back off. Hanna is in the dressing room changing when she is grabbed and pulled into a stall by Caleb who tells her that he talked to Ashley about the flash drive and that if she turned it over to the police they would spend all day watching Hanna in her bikini.

Spencer and Hanna wonder if the LJ knife is in Paige’s bag so they devise a plan to get Paige away so they can peek inside her bag. Hanna has her bring an outfit to Em to try on that needs an extra pair of hands to put on. As soon as Paige walks away the girls grab her bag and rummage inside it but are caught by Emily and Paige. Emily is now really pissed at her friends and decides to leave with Paige. Spencer isn’t concerned though because she has apparently found something incriminating in the bag though we can’t see it at the moment. Paige and Emily are talking on her porch and Emily tells her that she can’t even apologize for her friends who have really overstepped the bounds. She says that she believes Cece has started all this trouble but Paige says that it was Ali and confesses her real relationship with her. She says that she knew her enough to hate her guts and that Ali spent 9th grade torturing her with teasing that got really bad. Wait, I thought Ali died after 8th grade and I’m pretty sure Paige said 9th grade. Am I confusing the books with the show again? I thought Season 1 was 9th grade for them after Ali died, Season 2 was grade 10 and now they are juniors? Anyway Paige says that Ali was relentless and she had no one to turn to and was very alone to the point that it didn’t matter what Ali did to her because what she wanted to do to herself was even worse. She wanted to disappear but that would mean that Ali would win and she wouldn’t let her win.
