Pretty Little Liars Recap: What Lies Beneath

Emily has transported back to Hanna’s house to look over pictures that she has downloaded from Maya’s website and organized by date. They are so obviously photoshopped that I had to laugh a little bit. Emily mentions that she made pajamas look sexy and they both realize that Maya took the pictures during the day time outside of Noel’s cabin. They tell Spencer who confronts Noel asking about his relationship with Maya. He confesses that he hooked her up with weed a few times and that he finds it sexy that Spencer thinks that he is a murderer. Emily is now working in the coffee shop again when Nate walks in and spots Jenna and Noel kissing in the corner. So I guess Noel has a transporter too since he was JUST at school with Spencer. Nate, being super creepy, confronts Jenna who tells him to get out of her face. Embarrassed at the scene he has caused, he walks away and Jenna sits back down to enjoy her Vogue and latte.

Back up off me.

Spencer, still at school because her transporter is in the shop, gets a text from Emily that Noel is at practice so take the opportunity to go search his shit. Spencer goes into the locker room and conveniently finds his locker because they all have names on them. She grabs his phone and is almost caught but is able to hide behind some jock straps. She just looks to see if Maya is in his contacts instead of checking his text messages, photos, facebook account, etc…Seriously these girls are the worst at sleuthing. She puts the phone back into his locker and as she is leaving runs into him. She escapes since all the guys are walking into the locker room at that point. Aria meets with her mom to walk home but finds that Ella is a little overwhelmed. She can’t seem to keep all her dates in check and Aria questions why she is dating so many people even though Zack seems to be into her. She tells Aria she wants to kiss a few frogs before finding her prince…which I thought was Byron since they were married and spawned two kids. Paige meets with Emily at the coffee shop and says she can’t swim in the next meet because her average is so low and then confesses she should have taken wood shop. Considering her tragic lesbian outfit, I would agree that wood shop would have been more logical. Emily kisses her to make her feel better and plans a movie date for later that night.

No one finds her ease of breaking and entering just a bit suspicious?

Hanna and Emily are now 30 minutes outside of town at Noel’s cabin which has a security camera facing the entrance. They walk around and see the cabin is trashed from the parties and I start wondering why they didn’t bring Aria or Spencer since they would know the lay of the land. Oh they didn’t bring her because she is spying on Zack with Ezra at the coffee shop. They bond over the Clash and divorces at 16 and then Aria casually asks him if he is seeing anyone else. He says no and that he really likes her mom and Aria, feeling protective, tells him that if he hurts her mom she will crush his scones….because he is placing scones out for purchase. Clever. Back at the cabin the girls find a secret room and then find Maya’s bag under a bench. Inside are some clothes, Ali’s 14th birthday party card that Emily had given her, a pocket knife with LJ inscribed on it and her bus ticket to San Francisco. The A Team shuts the girls in by closing the door and the shutters and then turning the lights out on them. I say team because there is no way one person can barricade a door and close shutters that quickly by themselves. Emily uses a poker to bust out the window glass but doesn’t use it to smash the shutter…no Hanna uses the pocket knife to try and pry them open but ends up stabbing herself in the leg. Emily then gets the bright idea to use a baseball bat to break open another door and then bust through the shutters. Outside A writes that he/she is saving them for later on the side of the cabin. Since Noel is on the A Team I guess he won’t be too pissed to find that sprayed on the side of his parent’s cabin. Might be a little hard to explain it though.
