Pretty Little Liars: This is a Dark Ride

All aboard the crazy train! The Halloween episode of Pretty Little Liars starts with Mona hanging out and singing in her little crazy room while painting a mannequin head. She’s not alone as she hands over some capsules and bullets to her accomplice who we don’t get to see but I guess you can assume it’s Toby. I kind of love how she gets to wear Uggs in the looney bin and apparently has access to bullets. Meanwhile the Liars are discussing what they will be wearing at the Halloween party later and I guess Aria is pre-gaming as Freddy Krueger. They come across a yard with a coffin with Alison’s name painted on it and as they approach someone in an Ali costume jumps out and scares them.

Spence walks into her house to find Garrett who finally decides to confess what he wanted to tell Spencer before he skips town. Before he gets to spill the beans, Toby waltzes in and kicks him out. Since Spence doesn’t know that Toby is on the A Team yet, she starts babbling about how he was about to tell her everything. Toby vows to not leave her alone with Garrett and Spencer is flattered while I’m creeped out. Is it weird to anyone else watching this knowing what we know about Toby? Hanna and Caleb are making out in the storage closet of the dentist office in a stupid attempt to hide from A. Hanna doesn’t want to take chances that could affect other people but um it’s a little late for that. Aria is getting her costume together when Ezra breaks the news that he can’t attend the party because he is on the A Team and has to be incognito. Seriously can we stop beating around the bush about him? He’s on the other team and probably the one funding everyone with his momma’s money.

Everyone meets at the coffee shop to board shuttles to the train. Hanna, dressed like Marilyn Monroe, walks in and gets photographed by Lucas who appears to be back on his meds and acting like his normal puppy love self. Hanna meets up with Aria who is dressed as Daisy from The Great Gatsby. I don’t know why she got so offended when Hanna mentions the movie since they were all supposed to dress as movie characters. The girls end up running into Noel and Jenna who aren’t hosting a party so they can concentrate on each other instead of making others happy. Spencer and Toby walk in next as Steve and Slim from To Have and Have Not which is based on a Hemingway book…you think Aria was jealous? They discuss if Spencer has spoken to Garrett when Noel starts taunting them but starts choking on something. It ends up being a joke as Spencer tries to help Noel and a devil shoots out of his chest like an Aliens face hugger. Emily arrives last with Paige in tow followed by Jason who hasn’t been seen or heard from in a few months. Of course he arrives tonight because he can’t miss a good party…or a chance to mess with his half-sister and her friends.
