Project Runway Allstars Recap: Leftovers Again!

Dead Mauth even drops in a humble brag that Audra won her fifth Tony Award that night. Althea doesn’t mention what the Kardashians later did with five guys named Tony in her dress.

The next day Uli announces that they have only two hours to runway time and I am weary already. No one seems to be anywhere near completion. As much as I love a little pressure, it would be nice to see well-executed dresses rather than ragged seams and glue guns for once. As everyone rushes, Uli talks a little trash on Althea and Aryan talks some trash on St P. He says she is a good designer and a huge DVF fan, so …. “it’s like a little pig squealing in the mud”. It doesn’t make any sense, but it’s mean an I love it. A+.

“What I’m trying to say is; I hate her”

The time ticks away and everyone seems actually finished. I am liking Aryan’s look and Ivy’s only complaint is she hasn’t pressed her dress yet. Dead Mauth is very unsatisfied with his look, he laments letting down Joanna and apologizes to his model. Heheheh.

Carolyn comes onto the runway dressed like Kermit the Frog to illustrate the challenge concept.

Even your parents can’t explain this to you

Carolyn introduces the judges, and after everyone having talked about her nonstop, it’s somewhat anticlimactic to actually see Diane Von F.

Much like a wrap dress

Runway time!

Joshua – his look is really nice. Basic, elegant and safe so I doubt we’ll be seeing any more of him in judging than we did during the show.

Uli – Oh Uli. I want to like this look because I like Uli, but it is not doing it for me. I hate feathers in fashion anyway, and this look is more junior prom to me than red carpet. Maybe it’s the length or all the stuff glued to it, or the uneven hem line but it isn’t working.

Althea – her look is a pastel Holly Hobby hot mess. She admits she can only win if they stray from the traditional. I’d say that tradition would have to be good taste.

Papa Elsa – His dress really takes advantage of the two-sided nature of his fabric and I really approve. The architectural flourish on the bodice adds a flair, but not too much and besides looking a little like a patch-work conch shell, I can’t say much negative here.

Aryan – I really love the color and the movement of this dress. I think it’s going to be a hard sell for a red carpet event however when most people are concerned with how their photos will look. This dress standing still adds volume and will photograph like a big tent. I can just see Carolyn cringing at the thought of wearing this.

MrsMiaWallace is an east coast girl with a  penchant for travel, libations and great cuisine. She is not known to turn down a mimosa or a martini and finds the transition between the two a good way to mark the passing of time since she can never remember to wear a watch. Her secret love for reality tv and addiction to Bravo have drawn her like a moth to the glittering snark of TVGasm,  where she finds there are others like her... hopefully also nursing Bloody Marys.

    1. Why, oh why, does Ivy continue to wear shear chiffon tops? EVERY week?? It drives me bananas!
    2. That green dress Carolyn wore for the runway did absolutely nothing for her boobs. It looked awful.
    3. Poor Ivy. That dress had such potential in the sketch, but a combination of time and fabric quality got in her way. I’m glad she didn’t get sent home. Althea had been middle of the back to bottom 3 too many times while Ivy had been in the top more times than not.
4.I was irritated with the Spanish bashing of Uli, but they did have a point about her one-way-monkey dresses from her previous season. But she has turned out decidedly NON-monkey dresses so far this season. I didn’t think she was top 3 though. Joshua or Papa should’ve been in the low top 5. I CAN’T WAIT FOR A CHRISTMAS UNCONVENTIONAL MATERIALS CHALLENGE!!! So excited!

Can we, once and for all, agree that “green fabric” is not for high fashion?! What a bunch of ugliness!

    I want Eyesac’s shoes! :D

I can wait for the unconventional challenge. I wish we got more of them.

Season 11 starts at the end of January. I wonder why they’re not spacing out the seasons more.

@sag: It does? So soon? With RealHeidi? And Tim? Woo hoo!

MrsMia I cant believe I’m going to say this, but I actually liked Uli’s dress, ribbons and feathers and sequins and satin and eighties-prom-appeal and all! Then again, I am a child of the eighties (not BORN in the eighties but “came up” in the eighties) and that’s a good excuse, right?

Ivy damn skippy should have have been Auf…er, awkwardly patted on the back “goodbye”. That dress was pass-the-eye-bleach ugly.

Poor Althea. Go Aryan and Joshua and since she’s finally more diverse Uli!

I didn’t really like anything this episode. Actually, Emilioth was probably closest, and what gorgeous skin his model has. I admit the hem was a messth!!!

I don’t like green either, only the bright green DVF had on, with matchy shoes yet, and i heard emerald is this seasons color, not sure if that means the new grey . . .

St. P’s was fug to me, hated the fabric, but it’s just not my taste, and what do I know . . .

Althea was doomed from the fabric pick on, I don’t know what she was thinking . . .

Who the hell is dressing HeidiBot? Heidi K? With each episode her clothing becomes more and more bizarre and eyesoreish. Either that or she has a blind stylist.

Anyone notice the Mystic tan line on Weinsteins BabyMamas foot? Really, she can afford better.

And I’ll miss Althea. I liked her on her season and liked her on this one but I don’t feel she’s winner material. But, she clearly has a succesful if small design business so, you go girl!

Ivy and the weird sheer tops with a bra and shorts. *sigh* These are all her own creations which explains why they all look 1) alike, 2) really well made and 3) boring. Josh and Casa better step it up or they’ll just keep winning ‘Most Forgettable’.
