The designers continue to freak, tweak and geek out until makeup time. Tim comes around to assist and loves Tara’s blood orange leather fabric. I think in an all black collection it will definitely pop. Chris does the most odious interview to date calling Tara pretentious for saying “blood orange” when he thinks it is just red. When did he turn into a beer-chugging straight guy that prefers all colors be described by ten words only?
“What is doing, trying to paint her kitchen?”
Dmitry describes his plan to stay young by styling his models like baked potatoes and Tim is concerned. Chris demonically interviews that he hopes Dmitry goes way overboard. I sense a little jealousy, gasmites. Tim and every other designer are busy just basking in a big positive love fest and Chris’ bad attitude is very jarring compared to the vibe in the room. He has decided to create two new looks and is running around like a madman to do so. Tara is also pressed for time but is handling it like a champ and Unibrow and Dmitry are basically finished and discussing crosswords.
“It’s what you might call being prepared”
Tim comes in to give them a 15 minute warning and is shocked that Chris is totally stressed and has multiple looks to finish this late in the game. Tim brings them all Champagne since he assumed they would be at a quitting and celebrating point.
I like where this is going
A simple question from Dmitry and honest response from Tara about not having too much left to finish sends Chris into a childish rage and he mimics Tara basically like a four year old would. I really didn’t think her comment was directed at him and while I get that he is stressed to the limit it’s odd that he’s taking aim at a seemingly quiet and unmalicious Tara. As Tim said, “This is no time to be petulant”.
“Why don’t you guys let me know when it is time, I even wore my most petulant flip-flops”
Everyone heads back to Yotel and it looks like the show is a few hours later that night. All that’s left to do is style themselves for the show.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s meets Annie Hall
All four enter an empty runway room and it is pretty awe-inspiring and must be an amazing moment for these designers.
At least there’s no chance of the models falling
The last-minute prep is anxious, of course. Dmitry is running late, Tara is still sticking to the straight-jacket leg irons dress and Chris is a
hot total mess. One of his dresses is too long and he attacks it with scissors even as they’re calling for his models to line up.
“Wait! I think there’s time to create one more look!”
