After some picturesque snorkeling, the roomies enjoy the late afternoon view while Mo’Rum does some pondering. Evidently, she has learned that she can “be a biatch” when she wants to be. What a revelation. Apparently, she can also be nice, so she wants to bring that out more than 1% of the time. The roomies all quietly contemplate life while watching the sun set from the boat.
At Latoya’s request, Ginger packs her in a cardboard box and carries her outside after dropping her once and almost dropping her a second time. Is anyone else really enjoying the complete randomness of this episode?
Careful, T, you don’t want to end up on a deserted island with only a bloody volleyball for company.
Grandpa and RomCom share a long hug goodnight before going to sleep next to each other, but in separate beds since she seems to have taken over Captain Needy’s now-vacant bed. She points out that it is their last night of sleeping next to each other, but Grandpa says he needs to go to sleep before he gets emotional. She wishes him a good dream, and then he wishes himself a good dream. How thoughtful and selfless of him.
Latoya writes in her diary while Ginger and Mo’Rum cuddle up for the night and Swift wanders the grounds, pondering… stuff. I don’t know what, because all we’ve learned about him is that he occasionally has stupid fights that make no sense, loves St. Thomas, and likes pranks… and 2/3 of those things were from this episode.
Holy shit, you guys, they found Amelia Earhart! These cameramen do not get enough credit.
Ginger, Mo’Rum, and Latoya take one last hop, skip, and jump around the pool. They bid farewell to the various sea creatures surrounding them. Can we get a shout out for the pool this season? It seems like they were in it all the time, which is rare on this show. Latoya tells us that she’s going to miss Mo’Rum the most, and they’ll be “friends to the end.”
Today in “Duh Moments” with Latoya.
Swifty gives us some generic goodbye commentary about them being a family, albeit a dysfunctional one. They are all sad to say goodbye to Hassel Island despite it occasionally being a hassle.
Swift is the first to be dropped off, since he will be staying in the Virgin Islands. As they say goodbye, RomCom tells us that he was her guy friend in the house and they part ways with a secret handshake.
Thus perpetuating the false notion that Swift actually spent any time on Hassel Island and/or with the roommates.
There are even mostly friendly goodbyes between Mo’Rum/Latoya and Swift, although he tells us he won’t miss Toya and she tells us he can stay down there as long as he likes because she doesn’t want him on the mainland. The last day of a Real World season can yield some strange things. Swift tells us he fell in love with the people and the culture of the Virgin Islands, and he’ll be staying there for awhile.
