Recap: Love in the Wild – The Finale!

Well, we finally have them in the same frame at least. I will say that I bet this was taken after the crate was retrieved by Kenina and they are heading off to the finish line. The boats aren’t even pointed the same way, but maybe I’m just being a pessimist. Ken jumps out for the crate and of course yanina’s raft goes drifting off.

Crisis!

Team Juggy Cock doesn’t make this mistake and it looks like they are even pulling in their crate first. Ken quickly realizes he needs to go swim to Yanina and then tow her the two feet she has drifted back to the crate. Quelle dommage. We see Cockney and Juggs head off and are labeled as first place while Kenina is still floundering to pull in their crate.

Prove it

Both teams are paddling doggedly and come to shore to find crowbars with which to open their crates. We are to believe this is nearly simultaneous, but they are still being shot totally separately so one team is clearly way ahead. I am so convinced of this… And then we see the quickest of moments (seriously, so many pauses) when Kenina’s empty boat is clearly visible behind Juggs. As suspected.

Oops editors

Look, we have seen sloppy editing the whole way through – from Jason dropping the map to, as a commenter pointed out, magically disappearing mud – but this episode was pure sloppy sleight of hand. I get that with one team so far behind they need to create drama but they should get that I deserve to laugh at it. Also check out Juggs’ hairline. I proudly sport a Widow’s Peak, but she has a double! In some order, they retrieve a girl statue from the crate that is a mate to the male statue from the cave. We cut awkwardly to Jenny waiting to see what team will round the corner and come jogging up to the finish line.

Surprise!

I know we were supposed to be rooting for love, but frankly, these two deserve it just because they actually seemed to want it more. I get the feeling Ben is chuckling that he got a paid vacation to the DR out of all this. Kenina was also a lot better at challenges. They celebrate with a passionate closed mouth kiss

All the passion of Mom and Dad

Another exhausted and dispirited arrival for Cockney. I’m pretty sure that ever since Ginger left the scene he has arrived dejected to Jenny on every challenge. Which is ironically how most people end up with her. Although they are losers, they claim to have won by finding each other. Neither are super bummed and they put on happy faces for their exit interviews.

The guy with the lighting, however, wants tears

I liked both couples so much – I didn’t mind who won, which is unusual for me. They both seemed to to connect with their partners and I was glad to see that both couples are still together. I have no snark – Damn you show!!!

Ugh. I fast-forwarded to the end with this one. Just couldn’t take all that scrambling and yelling when it was obvious from three episodes ago who would win. Great recaps though!

Great recap! I just read an interview with Summer and Chase – they are also still together and visit each other every other weekend. She is planning on moving to CA in August. It is interesting how this show ends up with more couples (supposedly) than the Bachelor/ette series…
