Hola Gasmii!!! I have been celebrating my 107th birthday for about two weeks at this point so please hang in there if things start to get a little weird…
Thanks for all the kind Birthday wishes and I hope you enjoyed a little slice of the Flip last week! Flipit worked his usual magic on the episode where everyone had to go out and beg for Mood money and then work in teams to design a few looks, including outerwear. Mostly everyone just sat around the workroom trying not to touch the floor.
Sonjia won for a lovely jacket and Dreads was sent packing for being lovely but having jacked designs. As many of you have pointed out, Dreads has beautiful skin and despite being a skilled mechanic from the 1950s is actually a pretty hot.
On to the show! The opening at Atlas has some demoralized folks sitting around marveling at how hard the process is and how many people have fallen already. Dmitry puts out the most Russian of pep talks when he says “I know I am a great designer and I’m just going to do whatever the fuck I want and I’m going to win this.” Yes my little borscht, yes.
On the other side of the house, Elena leads the women in harping on how Dmitry has only put out dresses so far. Sure ladies, if we were to single anyone out for repetition it should surely be Dmitry whose only sin I’ve seen is constantly being awesome. Sorry the judges haven’t realized linebacker chic is the next new thing.
The gang meets up with Heidi, who looks especially wall-eyed and under made-up, although she is sporting a slutty club dress seemingly from Forever 21.
She tells them absolutely nothing as usual and sends them off to the workroom to escape her day-after sex stench. Oh and also we learn that Skunk has big plans. He needs boots and his momma needs boobs. How charmingly southern of you.
They find Mondo in the workroom with Tim. I have zero connection or interest in Mondo since I didn’t see his original season. I did see him in all-stars and just found him quirky and I guess talented, but nothing that really grabbed me. He is relevant because people like him and it turns out he won this particular challenge on his original season. Then they flash back to his win and how he revealed his battle with HIV and I OMG and now understand why people connected with him and rooted for him.
