Elena – her dress comes down with front detailing and the babydoll halter and I think the shape is decent (shockingly not a shoulder pad in sight), however the fabric looks like trashbag material and cheap as well. I guess that’s how you get all the detailing in under the budget!
Christopher – his dress is the long-awaited gown and it is beautiful. I would definitely own this dress, although it is more classic and understated than an actual showstopper. It basically in a tee shirt blouse (with his ever-present shredding technique) and a long sweeping black skirt. I really love the pale pink of the blouse, several people have had great output with that color this season. I have to point out that Chris is lucky to have the cutest little pixie waif of a model. She definitely draws my eye in each challenge.
Dreads – her dress is another trashbag creation that she tried to make with some masculine touches. I like the collar as something different but the tucking and pleating is a little sloppy.
Sonjia – Her dress looks great for all the fear and last minute panic. She has a fun little silhouette and peplum details- very wearable but also memorable. I’m sure the finish is atrocious since she was hacking at the hem seconds before the run way but Tim Gunn was right, surprise surprise.
Blorpheus – His dress is boring form a distance and hackneyed from close up. Her swirling black vortex of pleat is not flattering or fresh at this point. He is of course confident that he will at least be safe if not top three.
Dmitry – His dress is hands down my favorite. Based on the comments last week I am not alone. The color was different and the architecture and lines were stunning. Flattering, slimming, sleek, wearable and completely in keeping with the other 9 designs in the collection. Bravo you beautiful martini-veined bastard!
Blorpheus, Sonjia and Dmitry are in the safety zone and I feel a small cry of outrage at Dmitry being passed up yet again. It is great news for Sonjia of course who still has tear stained cheeks.
First discussed is Unibrow who is a top scorer – which was not inherently obvious – they loved the simplicity and back detail although he was slightly criticized by Kors for the exo-zipper as a poor design, but not as a one way monkey, which is the case.
Please put your hands over the pee stain in your diaper pants, thanks
Christopher is in the top as well and his look is universally loved. Kors is on him like orange on orange though for his third time around using shredding. Heidi points out this is a good note for Chris to take for future challenges.
Or she is blocking out the self-tanner fumes
