The pink color is praised as one that changes with the skin tone wearing it, which I agree with. Nina points out that this is not a dress for every woman’s body, however it could work in the collection as I’m guessing the more high fashion piece.
Maybe next time try pleating, judges don’t seem to notice that
Tara is up with another of the top scores. I guess that puts Skunk, Elena and Dreads in the bottom. Tara is praised for building a strapless, backless uniquely lined dress on a budget. The hem gets a little chastising but the L&T President is watering at the mouth for this dress and calls it “a winner”.
Winner winner I see what your model had for dinner
Skunk is up next and he does indeed have a low score. He starts out praising L&T for gearing their challenge to the average woman and says his goal was a dress that could be worn by all ages. While that is a noble aim, the judges find his dress dull and overdone. Kors straight out says it looks like something already being sold in the NOT 10th anniversary section of L&T. Also Mrs. Prez says lace is a tough fabric, although I call bullshit on this since lace is so on trend right now and probably comprises half their dress section currently. Basically he hit this nail on the head too directly and ended up designing a dress that Lord & Taylor already sells.
Pocket protectors are the new pearls when it comes to clutching
Elena is up and as there have already been three high scores she monotones her explanation expecting her good ole Orange baby-eating German ass reaming. When Heidi tells her that she too has a high score Elena bursts into tears from surprise and released tension. She explains she struggled so much with her confidence and drive for this challenge and I’m starting to want to feed my table scraps to this wild little wolf. Til it bites me, then I will get the shotgun.
Or the glue gun
Dreads is in the lower scores and complains of her inability to dress a woman. Strangely Heidi praises the dress a lot and criticizes the attitude of not being versatile enough to adapt a personal style to address any challenge. Basically she should hold up a sign that says “Stop whining” for each challenge this season. That could be something useful for her to do during her inexplicable segment at the beginning.
“The only way to do this challenge was to make a jumper with one big pant leg”
In the backroom Elena is elated and Skunk is scandalized. He only repeats that Heidi’s’ comment that she wanted to wear his dress so he doesn’t get why he was in the bottom. It’s not a bad point, having a dress that is TOO wearable and commercial for this challenge is a contradiction. The judges are having trouble agreeing too, mostly because the clothes were fairly decent all around. Heidi does admit she has no fashion sense and makes fun of her own dress and I have a feeling the halfway point between her and President Snore is no man’s land.
