Previously: Some stuff happened, then some other stuff happened, and then Joanna got SHWASTED.
I HATE him! I HATE him!
Her antics eclipsed everything else in the episode, so it’s only appropriate that we start with her and Romain having a very special episode. There’s a wide shot of her building, accompanied by Romain’s dramatic (and sexy, always sexy) voiceover, “We need to have the talk. We have to say what we need to say.” Oh, barf. I am all of a sudden six years old and my father is sitting me down to discuss my poor behavior at church this morning. I drank all the juice that was set out for coffee hour so some people didn’t even get any when I had about 8. He’s very disappointed in me, and now I have to go to my room for the rest of the afternoon. Weird stuff happening inside!
Right there with you, Girl. DOOOOOM.
Romain and Joanna head to the beach and make small talk about Kite Surfing, and how Joanna’s never seen it before. Romain says people are out there doing it every day, but maybe she’s drunk every day so she didn’t notice. Ouch. Joanna interviews that she and Romain have been barely speaking since the night at Mynt, and it’s gotten so bad, she’s been sleeping in Marta’s room. Oh, that is bad. I don’t know how there’s room for Joanna with all of Marta’s track suits lying around… On the beach, Romain mentions not only has he told her to cut down on her drinking before, apparently Joanna was not supposed to be drinking at all that night at Mynt. Granted, he’s being pretty paternalistic, but I’ll bet most of us wouldn’t be “supposed” to drink to excess at major functions for our significant others. He’s very disappointed in her (OH GOD THAT’S THE WORST) – she ruined his whole night, and embarrassed his staff. He expects that when she comes into Mynt, she understands that she’s a reflection of him, and that Marta isn’t welcome at the club anymore at all.
Joanna certainly agrees that her behavior was crazy, but she doesn’t understand why he’s so upset with Marta. I’m kind of with her on this one – Marta was by far the most well-behaved woman at the club that night. Romain claims that none of this would have happened if it weren’t for little sister. No, none of this would’ve happened if it weren’t for the DJ cheating on Marta and fucking everything up. Duh. Don’t hire assholes and it won’t be a problem when your kid-sister-in-law dates them.
Joanna tries to defend Marta, but Romain just wants to stop talking and stop fighting, so he just ends the discussion there with a warning that if something like that happens again, he’ll walk away. But on a lighter note, Adriana was all over him that night!
“Isn’t that hilarious, insecure girlfriend?! Haw haw haw!”
