Revenge Recap: Every Rose Has Its Thorne

Revenge

Emily gets Aiden’s message that the AshCon sex video has rocked Grayson Manor so she heads out with Amanda on her tail. Amanda calls Ems on her emotions at the ceremony, urging her to give up the Revenge of it all. Emily insists she is “righting wrongs” and besides, happiness is like, super boring. Duh.

How did this one become the likable voice of reason?

Back at the Manor, Victoria catches Ashley checking her look in the mirror, seemingly plotting out her next move and planning her successful future. Victoria tells her she used to plot the same way and that’s how she got where she did. But unfortunately, there is room for only one queen in this castle and Victoria pulls out the AshCon vid.

Ashley begs her not to destroy her relationship and Vic quickly blackmails her into sleeping with Salvador to ensure his vote for Conrad to continue as CEO. Ashley = dunzo.

Simple, trusting Daniel (wait or is he ruthless, brilliant Daniel? Please decide, show!) comes in while she is readying herself for her ho stroll and urges her to hurry back soon. When she leaves Aiden calls and tells him to meet at the Inn where the deed is going down (ahem!).

Ashley arrives at Salvador’s suite. Aiden and Daniel meet downstairs and Aiden asks why Daniel is freezing Aiden out – perhaps Ashley has something to do with it? Daniel rushes up to the suite, catches Sal and Ash in quite luxurious hotel robes and snaps a photo, threatening to destroy Sal’s happy marriage if he doesn’t vote for him as new CEO of Grayson Global. Boom! Daniel’s got that vote locked up. I wonder if Sal and Ash went back to painting each other’s toe nails or whatever kinky games they were up to?

This is angry Daniel

Back at the Stowaway (was the bar even in the show that much last year? Why, oh why so much Stowaway, Mr. Producer?), Jack asks Nolan to do a little investigating into the Ryan brothers. Oh Jack, yes, yes. Good idea. Now is a great time to do a little background check on the two hoodlums WHO BOUGHT YOUR FAMILY BAR OUT FROM UNDER YOU. Did Mama Stowaway drink during her pregnancies?

Marco saunters into the bar and Nolan is not too happy to see the little twerp. Too bad Mason was carted off to jail. How amazing would a Mason/Marco team have been? That would have been hi-larious. Marco wants his job back, but Nolan says no way – Padma has taken the position and he’s very happy with her. We are talking about the job still, right? Besides, she knows everything about him and loves him – or something. Long story short, go away Marco! Nolan doesn’t like these conflicted emotions and you’re giving him indigestion (just guessing).

Marco – I had such high hopes for you!

Thank you for recapping this so well! The Greyson Global and Stowaway storylines are so ridiculous to me right now that I have a hard time focusing on them. I miss the days of one by one revenge with Emily’s big red sharpie X-ing out faces. I’m actually not that sad that it’s going on a break. Maybe they’ll refocus on what made the show great to begin with. Also, it IS totally bizarre that “Amanda” is now the sole voice of reason. Are we just ok with the fact that she’s a murderous psycho now?

ditto to everything Jessi (^^ comment) said.

This show will not be missed while on break. It would have been better if they had hinted more at who dies on the boat or something else more cliff-hanger-y. It has gotten a little too confusing to really follow. I don’t really care about the Initiative and they have already lost me if they related to Emily/Amanda. It would have been a great transition to switch to Aiden and his own revenge plot/story. Plus, he is hot. Because at this point it seems like they were only planning for one season but it got popular so they tried to expand it into multiple seasons.

i, too, miss the days of simpler revenge, and to be honest, i don’t love human-emily. i preferred her as a well-oiled revenge machine. my hope is that aiden shows himself as a traitor and that launches her full-back into her mission. it would be glorious.
