Revenge Recap: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again!

Revenge

What’s the expression? Monsters aren’t born, they’re made. Well, according to Lineage, they are most definitely made: Marion made Victoria, Conrad made Daniel, Nolan made Marco, Emily made Ashley. Wait, what? That last bit has yet to be revealed, but it seems to be in the realm of possibility at this point!

Flashback to November 2006!

An Oh So Very Stowaway Thanksgiving

The backstory/mystery of the Stowaway’s new investor was solved last night and it was pretty much par for the course in terms of titillation and intrigue. You see 6 years ago, the underground Hamptons mafia (HAHAHAHA!) was extorting the nautical businesses in exchange for protection (HAHAHAHA!).

The Hamptons Mob is just the worst!

Papa Carl refused to pay these ruffians, deciding to take the matters into his own hands by pulling out a gun to protect his family and business.  He won’t be bossed around or shaken down or any of “dose tings!”  We can tell Carl is rough and tough cause he tawks wit an accent you see!  Until the end of the episode when he handed over the cash to protect his kids, Declan in particular.  HAHAHAHAHA!

BUT just when the crisis seems to have been averted, Carl’s buddy shoots the head honcho – with Carl’s gun. You see the bad guys put his daughter in the hospital and he wants, you guessed it, revenge!  Hey, thanks for looking out Matt, but maybe use your own gun?

The gun is traced back to Carl and the assumption is that he killed the bad guy.  And this head honcho turns out to be the father of skeevy Kenny – and his brother. So, voila!, we have the motivation for the bar takeover!

Does it make it any more interesting or engaging? Ummm…no, not so much. If anything, it shows us that Carl shouldn’t have paid the money, let Declan get taken out, and we all would have been much happier. Right? Right.

Oh, and where was the Stowaway’s turkey dinner? Don’t tell me Sammy didn’t get any leftovers? C’mon Stowaways, think of the dog! These guys are oh so sad – even in flashbacks!

NolCorp!  Hipsters!  IPO!  Intrigue!

Nolan’s flashback definitely seemed to be a setup for upcoming action. Ya see – 6 years ago Nolan’s company went public and he made the bulk of his riches. He also seemed much happier, less conflicted and gloomy. Maybe because he was in a relationship with his CFO, Marco.  Sorry Padma.

I hope Human Resources doesn’t find out!

The boys are celebrating the holiday eating sushi (which is equal parts cute and revolting) when Marco asks where the 500 million disappeared to that he placed in the Cayman Islands account. After a bit of hemming and hawing, Nolan admits he gave it to Emily as a way to honor her father, NolCorp’s initial investor. Marco is not happy. How could he give the money to a conspiracy theorist who’s wackjob father was a terrorist blah blah blah. Marco should not have spoken badly about the Clarke clan because he is quickly fired and dismissed from the office and Nolan’s heart.  Sigh.

Thanks for the good recap. Somewhere about halfway into the show the other night I had a bad case of “Huh? What?” and got kind of lost. That’s what happens when you rinse dishes while watching the show.

I really liked the episode. Not looking forward to what Nolan has coming for him, poor guy.

Please let Ashley be in on this! That would make her a tad more likeable!

Ok I finally figured out why Charlotte looks so familiar to me. She was in 13 going on 30….I know, random!

Whoa, young Victoria looks SO much like Charlotte! I was thinking that she didn’t look much like Madeleine Stowe, but it all makes sense now. Of course Vicky would have changed a lot in the years what with all the plastic surgery. I now love that casting!

Not my favorite episode, but still fun. I want to see what’s going to happen! Also, the Stowaway still drags even in the past. At least it was nice to see Sammy. I may have squealed.
