No doubt this was Madeline Stowe’s shining moment of the season. The bitchy scenes with Marion, but also the quieter ones of just her, reliving the horror of her youth. I don’t think anyone will have trouble understanding how and why Vicky became Victoria Grayson. And in that respect Marion was right – she sure as hell landed on her feet.
The Russian Prostitution Ring of Fire (?)
Six years ago, Emily was still Amanda and a newbie working with Sensei Takeda. But she had her fightin’ chops and was already on the hunt.

Oh hi Takeda! You’re – still old.
This particular fateful evening at the club, she is in search of Sergei and Dmitri, two mobster types with Clarke blood on their hands and a creepy predilection for young ladies of the evening. Amanda meets 2 future players in our game her first night at da club.

“I am Russian mobster. I speak like Boris from Bullwinkle.”
Aiden – a gruff, rough, possibly drunkish bartender version of his current self who is already on his own hunt for revenge – one that dovetails quite nicely with Amanda’s. They’re just two rough and tumble kids alone in the big world looking for some revenge!
Through the course of the evening we come to learn that Aiden has had both his sister and father taken out by the Russians and in turn the Initiative. His sister was kidnapped years ago – her whereabouts unknown, while his father worked at the airport when the bomb was brought onboard the fateful plane David Clarke supposedly took down. So needless to say he’s a little pissed. And he’s had his own somewhat ragtag plan for revenge – one that involves working as a bartender and pulling a gun on Dmitri, the head Russian mafioso.

Apparently men had very bad hair in 2006
This plan doesn’t quite come off and he is captured, but he saves Emily in the process so she saves him right back. She helps him escape, he shoots Dmitri, and they lose the trail leading back to the Initiative – but a team is born and their whole connection now makes a hell of a lot more sense. He volunteers to work with Takeda and they their two missions become one.
PLUS when we return to the present at the end of the show, they are in bed together and they, GULP, seem happy! And they speak like normal people with their guards down and stuff. You guys, this might be the most human either of these characters have ever been!
“You fought for me when nobody else would.” – Aiden
“You better not disappear on me again.” – Emily

A-dor-a-ble
And then he called her “Amanda” and oh my gosh, it was just beau-ti-fullllll!!! Seriously though, it was so nice for them to seem at peace and happy. It was a very real, honest moment. Awwww.
If you like it, spread it!:

loved everything about this episode!
Me too! I thought it was a very good episode.
Ugh, Ashley wtf?!?
Thanks for the good recap. Somewhere about halfway into the show the other night I had a bad case of “Huh? What?” and got kind of lost. That’s what happens when you rinse dishes while watching the show.
I really liked the episode. Not looking forward to what Nolan has coming for him, poor guy.
Please let Ashley be in on this! That would make her a tad more likeable!
Ok I finally figured out why Charlotte looks so familiar to me. She was in 13 going on 30….I know, random!
Whoa, young Victoria looks SO much like Charlotte! I was thinking that she didn’t look much like Madeleine Stowe, but it all makes sense now. Of course Vicky would have changed a lot in the years what with all the plastic surgery. I now love that casting!
Not my favorite episode, but still fun. I want to see what’s going to happen! Also, the Stowaway still drags even in the past. At least it was nice to see Sammy. I may have squealed.
